Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

As the cloud of smoke shrouded the battlefield, Carmen’s eyes widened.

There was a hint of panicking and she tried to glance at the team list, only to notice that the system was being a prick.

Since there was no field of vision of Xu Feng in sight due to the cloud of smoke, the System wouldn’t display the current status of her Guild Leader.

’Damn it, just why must there be a fog of war feature?’ She cursed silently.

The fog of war in strategy video games referred to enemy units and terrain being hidden from the player. This would be lifted once the area was explored, but the information was often fully or partially re-hidden whenever the player no longer had a unit in that area. It was commonly used in Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA-type game).

And at this moment, only Xu Feng was covered by the so-called fog, prompting others unable to get a vision of him. With that being said, it was a natural course that they couldn’t check on his current status being alive or dead.

Meanwhile, Carmen noticed the colossal figure of the Sentinel raising its legs up high.

”Raid Leader!” Carmen shouted in panic, wanting to hurry up and assist him, but the Elite Enemies weren’t allowing her. They took advantage of her slight distraction and attempted to free themselves from the Shadow Bind, forcing Carmen to remain focused on their battle.

”Just hinder them. I’ll go and rescue him.” Amidst her crisis, she heard a familiar voice.

Before she could respond, she was able to see it was Zhao Kai who had said those words. Zhao Kai was one of the Tanks that had advanced alongside Xu Feng but was sent flying by the Sentinel earlier.

Thus, Zhao Kai felt ashamed that he was unable to protect his buddy.

Alas, while rushing ahead, Zhao Kai witnessed the Sentinel’s rage.

Despite the cloud of smoke shrouding everything, the Sentinel didn’t seem pleased one bit.

It didn’t feel its attack was enough, prompting the Sentinel to stomp the ground, triggering Earthquake Rupture.

The floor cracked and buckled, sending jagged pillars of stone shooting up in random patterns. The sheer force of each move shook the entire room, forcing Zhao Kai to be pushed back after having advanced quite a few distances.

Aside from the force, the wind pressure also damaged nearby players within the proximity, essentially spelling certain doom for Xu Feng.

”Damn it!” Zhao Kai gnashed his teeth, his eyes turning bloodshot from anger and reluctance. Although death in the Divine World didn’t mean they would really die in the real world, it still hurt to see his friend being bombarded to death.

Nobody would understand a gamer’s pain when they witnessed their gaming buddy die in the game except for gamers themselves.

”Is this the end of our Raid Leader?” OneManMedia, who risked his life to capture the scene better, had his camera panned to the cloud of smoke.

At the same time, the comment section started to turn wild, with speculation of whether Xu Feng was dead or alive.

[The Raid Leader must be dead from that relentless attack, right?]

[Nah, no way the Raid Leader would fall!]

[What kind of joke is that? The Raid Leader dying in the raid while the rest survived? What are they even doing?]

[Is this the best the Vanguard Guild could do up to? As expected of a start-up guild. All barks in the end!]

The comment section moved so fast that it was hard for OneManMedia to catch which user said which.

But he did see multiple people starting to doubt the capability of the Vanguard Guild.

In a raid, the Raid Leader was like the King piece in chess. It must be protected at all costs and cannot be checkmated. Once checkmate, even if you have a ton of pieces left on the board, it was game over already.

Thus, the Raid Leader’s life was the most important one, but for Xu Feng to ignore them all and rushed ahead alone.

It was without a doubt, an action being criticized by numerous viewers currently, with a few malicious ones trash-talking the Vanguard Guild entirely.

However, those who wanted the raid or Xu Feng to die were bound to be disappointed.

While everyone was wondering whether Xu Feng was still alive within the cloud of smoke, they heard a voice from another place.

”Phew, I’ve seen a blind man walking with a white cane before, but it’s the first time seeing a boss unleash a rampage of attack on nothing.” Xu Feng, who was supposed to be in the cloud of smoke, emerged 3 meters away from the actual source.

”Raid Leader?” Zhao Kai’s mouth was left agape, clearly dumbfounded by Xu Feng’s being unscathed.

No— that wasn’t even the concern, but it was about how he managed to appear so far from the position of the Sentinel.

Not to mention them, even the Sentinel was startled to see its target appearing in another spot.

And by this time, the cloud of smoke dispersed, and the Sentinel soon realized a gaping hole beneath the ground. It was also positive that the gaping hole wasn’t caused by their relentless attacks, given the other ground was merely ruptured without any darkness.

”Confused, right?” Xu Feng chuckled lightly when he noticed the Sentinel was dumbfounded. ”You can’t understand me, but let me tell you anyway because I felt like it.”

Turning around, the Sentinel seemed to be waiting for him to clarify the situation.

However, Xu Feng suddenly stopped and raised his hand, lifting only his middle finger.

”Want to know? Sorry, but it’s not for free.” He wheezed and began waving his hand, giving the Sentinel a farewell as he ran away to another area.

Initially startled, the Sentinel soon became infuriated by the blatant disrespectful gesture.

It roared and propelled itself toward Xu Feng without any hesitation.

’Wow, he fell for the bait too easily.’ Xu Feng didn’t even need to turn around to sense a speedster chasing after his back with that loud roaring.

”As expected. The more powerful they are, the bigger their ego is.” Xu Feng smirked and continued his second plan to deal with the Sentinel’s third phase.
