I Became a Witch and Started an Industrial Revolution

The commotion and shrill screams that rang out on the street immediately drew the attention of the nearby Special Police.

The Special Police officers, who had originally looked rather relaxed, instantly hardened their expressions.

After a brief exchange, the Mechanical Body Special Police officer and another regular Special Police officer quickly rushed toward the scene of the incident.

The Mechanical Body Special Police officer switched on the loudspeaker on his shoulder:

“Alliance Special Police enforcing the law, all Alliance citizens nearby please disperse in an orderly manner and keep away from the area where Special Police are present.

According to the Alliance Public Security Regulations, violators of public security will be arrested on the spot and detained for 72 hours.”

“Alliance Special Police enforcing the law, please….”

The onlookers subconsciously made way upon hearing the voice.

The two officers quickly stepped into the center of the crowd, and when they saw more than a dozen short girls dressed as the Magic Goddess beating up a burly man, they were stunned for a moment before hastily shouting:

“Stop!!! What is going on here?”

Seeing the Special Police rush over, the dwarf girls quickly ran to the officers, chirping nonstop: “Police uncles, it’s this pervert!!!”

“He bullied a little girl!!!”

“He’s a pedophile creep!!!”

“We caught him! Hurry and execute him, such a disgusting thing!”

Hearing their words, the surrounding onlookers—who had originally been whispering and throwing strange or disdainful looks at the girls—immediately had their expressions shift.

A heavy pressure spread across the crowd, and their gazes toward the man became full of barely restrained aggression.

The Mechanical Body Special Police officer trembled upon hearing this, and the large-caliber PKD he held subtly lowered its barrel toward the man on the ground.

His partner was shocked and quickly patted his steel arm: “Don’t be impulsive! You can’t listen to one side only.”

After saying that, he turned to the dwarf girls in front of him and said sternly, “Do you have any evidence? Submit it immediately! This is a very serious accusation.

I advise you not to exaggerate deliberately.

False accusations are criminal offenses!”

This was not the Special Police scaring them.

In the Federation, the material rewards and honors under the Reporting and Courageous Action Laws were very generous.

But to avoid people causing unnecessary trouble in pursuit of rewards, if it was later proven that the situation was not what they claimed, the nature of the act would directly become intentional harm—far from something that could be settled with a verbal warning.

The dozen dwarf girls, who had been full of hot-blooded fury moments ago, were startled by his words.

They actually had no real evidence—only the little girl’s account.

What if they had been misled by something the child said without understanding…

Nai straightened her expression and said seriously: “It was what the child told me when she made her wish.

They only acted after hearing it.

Although I have no other evidence, her overly mature makeup and the intense fear in her emotions wouldn’t lie to me.

If it turns out I was wrong, I will accept punishment, but I don’t regret what I did.”

The Special Police officer lowered his head to look at the dwarf girl dressed as the Magic Goddess, her face firm.

“Whether it’s true or not will be thoroughly investigated by the police.

What is your name?”

‘Tursun Nai Yalorim Brakwachevich.’

“Age?”

Nai, who had been imposing just moments ago, suddenly lost confidence and replied weakly: ‘60…’

The two Special Police officers immediately revealed strange expressions.

So this was actually an “underage…” girl.

“And where is that girl?”

Nai turned and looked around, finding that the tall crowd had long blocked every gap.

She simply used magic detection and quickly sensed that the girl was still standing where she had been earlier.

She turned back and whispered to the officers: ‘Police uncles, she is nearby.

In this kind of situation… I don’t want her face to be seen by too many people…’

The two officers understood her meaning.

“Community Police and an ambulance are already on their way.”

Seeing the surrounding crowd brimming with agitation, the officer immediately raised his voice: “There is no final conclusion yet.

Citizens, do NOT harm others without cause!!!”

While the two maintained control of the scene, the police vehicles soon arrived.

Judging by the report they must have received, all the officers who stepped out of the car this time were women.

The leading female officer had upright wolf ears on her head.

Her expression was cold and unyielding, with sharp, dangerous contours.

She did not look like a regular community police officer who handled minor disputes.

She looked more like a woman soldier capable of blowing someone’s head off with a single shot.

In truth, Nai misunderstood.

She had never seen how middle-aged aunties acted unreasonable and noisy over trivial matters.

A timid personality would only get swept away by such women.

Thus, to handle public disputes, the police needed those with a tough appearance to exert deterrence so ordinary people would not dare escalate things.

As for the gentle type, they were assigned to subdistrict offices and community committees—those were the ones who played the “good cop,” maintaining neighborhood harmony, while the police mainly took on the difficult people and situations, playing the “bad cop.”

After questioning the group of underage dwarf girls, the wolf-eared female officer’s vertical pupils swept sharply over the man on the ground—no longer screaming but trembling violently—and she snorted coldly, calling for support from the subdistrict office through her communicator.

She patted Nai on the head, the hardness of her features softening slightly as she revealed a faint smile: “You little girls are quite fierce.

You actually dared to strike a full-grown man.”

Nai said proudly: ‘Of course! Her Majesty the Empress said that cracking down on bad people is everyone’s responsibility! And she made a wish to me—I won’t let a child who made a wish to me be bullied!’

“Don’t celebrate too early. You need to come back with us to the station for a statement. We will notify your guardians. You might want to start worrying about whether your little butt is going to bloom~”

‘Ah!!!……’

When the Magic Goddess girls were finally led into the police cars with their heads drooping, the subdistrict office vehicles also arrived.

Under Nai’s guidance, they took the little girl to a place away from the crowd, soothing her emotions gently.

Nai’s own police car also arrived.

On the way to boarding, she turned to look toward the girl.

Seeing her looking back as well, she smiled softly:

“Child, I granted your wish~”

The girl’s voice echoed in her ears, slowly fading.

She stared fixedly at the departing police cars, which gradually became tiny star-like points reflecting light under the sun.

Rustling sounds rose by her ears, growing louder, as if a barrier had been suddenly pierced.

Joyful music, bustling human voices, and the sweet, gentle voices of the older sisters beside her came flooding in.

‘Little sister, does your face feel uncomfortable? Let big sister wipe it off for you, okay?’

“Do you want auntie to hold you? Is your little tummy hungry? Let’s go eat something tasty together.”

‘How can you ask like that! Don’t scare the little one.’

“Please, children love me—there’s not a child in my district who doesn’t like me! You’re just jealous.”

‘Hehe, I have twins at home.

I have my own babies~’

“You!”

‘I… my tummy is a little hungry.’

The soft, sticky voice instantly interrupted the verbal sparring of the two subdistrict workers.

One of them swiftly scooped the girl into her arms.

“Let’s go, auntie will take you to eat.”

Neither of them asked anything about the girl’s father.

On the way, they met with the community committee’s vehicle, which had already rushed directly to the child’s home using the address obtained from the police.

Aside from questioning the biological mother and inspecting the home environment, they would also visit neighbors to understand the family’s usual behavior.

As for the little girl, she would temporarily be taken in by the Federation’s special child-care institution, where they would gently guide her to speak about the trivialities of home.

These would be cross-checked physically to determine the truthfulness of her words.
