Incredible Insight: Toy Factory Discovers Swarm Drones

Chapter 50 Suicide-Style Simulated DiveAt this moment, on the open ground outside the office.

The shocking revelations from that ”Big Smart One” manager still lingered in the air.

Autonomous reconnaissance, autonomous judgment, autonomous attack planning...

These few words, spoken so lightly by him, each carried the weight of a thousand pounds for the military industry Experts present.

Sun Danian felt as if he were not standing in the courtyard of a toy factory, but rather before an unimaginable technological singularity capable of changing the history of human warfare.

His breathing was rapid, and his brain was buzzing from receiving such an overwhelming amount of information, nearly crashing on the spot.

Of course, this might be a slight exaggeration, but that was indeed how he felt right now.

...

Li Jiajun was having a mental breakdown at this moment.

He looked at his ”Big Smart One” manager, who was still expecting praise, and then at the group of bigwigs opposite him, whose shock had escalated into terror; he knew that today’s situation was completely beyond salvation.

He had just wanted to open his mouth to gloss over the matter with an excuse like, ”Ahaha, our manager likes to joke,” but he was choked back by a single gaze.

The Old General, who had been silent all along, finally spoke.

His voice was not loud, even a bit hoarse, but every word carried an irresistible weight.

”Demonstrate it.”

There were no extra questions, no reprimands, only these simple four words.

But these four words had more power than any long-winded speech.

Li Jiajun was speechless.

He knew he had no way out.

He cast a look of help toward Liu Jianguo beside him, feeling that this bigwig seemed to have goodwill toward him.

It turned out that this bigwig was looking at him with an almost fanatical gaze, filled with the eagerness of ’Quick! Take it out and show me!’, with absolutely no intention of helping him out of the situation.

’It’s over, it’s all over,’ a desperate thought emerged in Li Jiajun’s mind. ’I’m afraid I’m going to be executed on the spot today.’

He squeezed out a smile that was uglier than crying and said weakly, ”Leader... th... that 2.0 version is just an experimental product, it’s very unstable... What if...”

”We will bear all consequences,” the Old General interrupted him.

Since things had reached this point, Li Jiajun completely gave up resistance.

He had no choice but to bite the bullet and nod.

Seeing him agree, Sun Danian forcibly suppressed the turbulent waves in his heart and, with extremely high professionalism, turned to issue a series of instructions to the technical team behind him.

”Start the tactical simulation program! Connect all sensors to the network! Immediately use whatever is available on-site to build a simple physical simulation of an enemy position!”

The technicians snapped out of their daze and immediately went into action.

They rushed into the factory’s scrap pile, and before long, a simple battlefield was set up in the middle of the open ground.

Several rusty, discarded oil drums were placed together to represent the enemy barracks.

A dilapidated wooden crate sprayed with eye-catching red paint became the ”ammunition depot.”

On another wooden crate, a mop handle was forcibly inserted to act as an antenna, representing the ”command center.”

Finally, a technician took out the remote-controlled toy car his son had left in his car, tied a piece of red cloth to the roof, and it acted as a ”mobile armored target.”

...

Looking at this so-called rudimentary ”battlefield,” Sun Danian was incomparably serious.

He walked up to Li Jiajun and said in a tone almost like an examiner posing a question, ”Mr. Li, we will not tell you which one in this position is the high-value target. Your only task is to give the swarm the command to ’eliminate all hostile units within the target area.’ We want to see how your ’toy’ will actually ’play’.”

This was an incredibly harsh test.

What it was verifying was no longer the drone’s flight performance or collaborative capability, but the core of this system—whether the legendary AI was just a ”script kiddie” that only executed preset programs, or a ”tactical master” that truly possessed battlefield judgment.

Li Jiajun sighed inwardly, slowly defined the target area on the game controller, then entered the ”free attack” command, and finally pressed the confirm button.

After doing all this, he seemed to have all his strength drained and retreated to the side.

”Hum—”

One hundred drones took to the sky again.

But this time, they did not form a neat phalanx as before.

Under everyone’s gaze, an incredible scene occurred.

After circling in the air, the fleet instantly and autonomously split into four formations of varying sizes.

One squad composed of ten drones immediately climbed in altitude, like falcons circling high in the sky, and began to conduct aerial reconnaissance of the entire simulated position.

Inside the temporarily modified mobile command vehicle, the Experts responsible for data monitoring stared intently at the data stream on the screen that was refreshing like a waterfall, which they were completely unable to decipher, holding their breath one by one.

Just two seconds later.

”It’s modeling! God! It completed the 3D digital modeling of the entire battlefield in just two seconds!” an Expert with research in AI looked at the screen, his voice trembling with shock.

Almost the instant his voice fell, the fleet in the air moved.

”Feint! It’s a feint!” another Expert with great accomplishments in tactical analysis pointed at the screen and shouted involuntarily.

A smallest formation consisting of five drones suddenly broke away from the main force and, at an extremely high speed, launched a suicide simulated dive toward those discarded oil drums representing the ”barracks”!

And the other Experts present all understood the terrifying implication behind this move—this was using the lowest cost to attract ”imaginary” enemy anti-aircraft fire, creating a window of opportunity for the real main attack!

Sure enough, just at the moment those five drones attracted everyone’s attention.

The other two main formations, each consisting of forty drones, moved!

With an incredible, ultra-low-altitude posture almost less than half a meter from the ground, like two black venomous snakes, they silently pounced on the core of the position from two completely different directions!

Their targets were incomparably clear—that ”ammunition depot” sprayed with red paint, and that ”command center” with the antenna stuck in it!

Two-way pincer attack! Deadly and efficient!

At this moment, that remote-controlled toy car tied with a red cloth also began to move rapidly on the ground.

Just when everyone thought the AI would prioritize fixed targets, the last remaining formation of five drones in the air moved.

Like the most seasoned hounds, without the slightest unnecessary movement, they precisely predicted the trajectory of the remote-controlled car with a perfect interception angle, then dove down and hovered steadily directly in front of the remote-controlled car’s path, completing the simulated ”impact.”

The entire attack process, from reconnaissance, decision-making, feinting, main attack, to intercepting the moving target, was smooth and natural, completed in one go, taking a total of less than fifteen seconds.

Throughout the whole process, there was not a single bit of human intervention.

The whole atmosphere was silent.

All the Experts stared blankly at the screen, looking at the perfect battle damage assessment and tactical review report automatically generated by the AI system after the attack, feeling as if their souls had been emptied.

On Liu Jianguo’s face, excitement had turned into fanaticism; he clenched his fists tightly and muttered to himself: ”Alive... this tactic is alive! It is thinking for itself! It is breathing!”

And the Old General, he stood there straight with his hands behind his back, but the expression on his face was somewhat dazed.
