Turns Out, I’m In A Villain Clan!

Chapter 688: The Kidnapping of Bai Xueqing

At almost the same time, the atmosphere within the Bai Clan changed completely.

The moment news of Bai Xueqing’s kidnapping arrived, the entire clan immediately entered a state of preparation.

The Bai Clan’s forces stationed throughout the territory were quickly mobilized.

Everyone understood the seriousness of the situation.

Bai Xueqing wasn’t merely a disciple of the Heaven Sword Sect.

She was the daughter of the Bai Clan.

More importantly, she was Bai Zihan’s younger sister.

No one doubted what would happen if anything happened to her.

Within the main hall, Bai Tianheng’s expression was extremely solemn.

He looked toward Bai Ren.

”Where is Zihan’er?”

One of the servants immediately answered.

”Young Master is currently with Miss Chu Ziyan.”

Bai Ren continued.

”Don’t worry. I’ve already sent someone to inform him.”

Bai Tianheng’s expression suddenly changed.

”You did what?”

Bai Ren blinked.

”I sent a messenger to inform him.”

His expression became somewhat confused.

”Did I do something wrong? Bai Zihan is the Clan Leader, and Bai Xueqing is his sister. Shouldn’t he be informed immediately so he can make the decision?”

Bai Tianheng’s face darkened.

”That’s exactly why you shouldn’t have merely sent someone to inform him!”

Bai Ren scratched his head.

He still didn’t understand.

”Why?”

Bai Tianheng stared at him for several seconds.

Then he finally spoke through gritted teeth.

”Have you forgotten what happened when Luo Qing was kidnapped?”

The moment those words were spoken, Bai Ren froze.

His expression changed.

He finally remembered.

Back then...

When Luo Qing had been kidnapped, Bai Zihan had completely lost his composure and directly charged into the territory of the Demonic Cultivators, almost losing his life.

At the time, everyone in the Bai Clan had witnessed firsthand what Bai Zihan was capable of when someone he cared about was harmed.

Bai Ren’s expression gradually became serious.

”...I remember.”

Bai Tianheng sighed as he rubbed his forehead.

”If Zihan’er hears that Xueqing’er has been kidnapped without anyone being there to control the situation, do you think he’ll calmly sit down and discuss the matter?”

Bai Ren remained silent.

He had almost forgotten because Bai Zihan was usually calm and collected, always thinking matters through carefully. However, once he lost control of his emotions, things became very different.

But Bai Ren also wondered whether Bai Zihan would really lose control this time because he couldn’t tell exactly how close Bai Zihan’s relationship with Bai Xueqing was.

Although he knew that Bai Zihan cared about Bai Xueqing and would never harm her, it wasn’t as though the two of them were extremely close.

From a young age, they had almost treated each other as if they were an eyesore, unable to stand each other.

Would Bai Zihan really lose his control like last time or perhaps he didn’t care much about Bai Xueqing for him to do so?

Bai Tianheng’s expression became increasingly solemn.

”We need to go to him just in case he loses control again.”

He immediately turned toward the surrounding elders.

”Prepare three Grand Elders.”

***

The atmosphere seemed to freeze the moment the messenger finished speaking.

He sneakily peeked at Bai Zihan, trying to see any emotion on his face.

Bai Zihan didn’t react, but somehow, the temperature around him seemed to drop several degrees.

Chu Ziyan was the first to break the silence.

”What?”

Her expression changed drastically.

”Xueqing has been kidnapped?”

She couldn’t believe it.

”How is that possible? Wasn’t she cultivating in the Heaven Sword Sect? Did someone attack the Heaven Sword Sect?”

The messenger hurriedly shook his head.

”Miss Chu, I don’t know the full details yet. All we know is that Miss Xueqing was kidnapped by Shen Liang inside the Heaven Sword Sect.”

”As for how he managed to do it...”

He hesitated.

”The matter is still being investigated.”

”How can that be?”

Chu Ziyan’s expression became increasingly worried.

She didn’t understand how someone like Shen Liang could have kidnapped Bai Xueqing within the territory of the Heaven Sword Sect.

What had happened to the Heaven Sword Sect’s experts?

Why hadn’t anyone stopped him?

Chu Ziyan glanced toward Bai Zihan.

He had remained completely silent from beginning to end.

His expression was calm.

There was no visible anger, no panic, and no killing intent.

That somehow made Chu Ziyan even more uneasy.

She had expected Bai Zihan to explode the moment he heard that Bai Xueqing had been kidnapped.

Yet he hadn’t even frowned.

After several moments, Bai Zihan finally spoke.

”Let’s return to the clan first.”

His voice was calm and steady.

”We’ll discuss everything there.”

The messenger immediately nodded.

”Yes, Clan Leader!”

Without wasting any more time, the three of them began making their way back toward the Bai Clan.

The atmosphere along the way was unusually heavy.

Chu Ziyan remained beside Bai Zihan.

She occasionally glanced at him.

He still looked completely composed.

His steps remained steady.

His expression remained indifferent.

But Chu Ziyan had spent enough time with him to know that something was wrong.

The messenger, meanwhile, continued explaining everything he knew, including that Qinglan had also been kidnapped.

Chu Ziyan’s pupils contracted.

”Master too?”

The messenger hesitated before nodding.

”Yes! Both Miss Xueqing and Peak Master Qinglan were captured.”

”Even Master...”

Chu Ziyan’s voice became faint.

Her worry deepened considerably.

If even Master Qinglan had been captured alongside Bai Xueqing, then the situation was clearly far more serious than they had initially thought.

Chu Ziyan unconsciously tightened her hands.

She glanced at Bai Zihan again.

Still no reaction.

Halfway back to the Bai Clan, Bai Zihan’s group suddenly encountered several figures rushing toward them.

At the front was Bai Tianheng.

Behind him were three Grand Elders of the Bai Clan.

The moment Bai Tianheng saw Bai Zihan, the tension that had been weighing on his heart finally eased slightly.

”Zihan’er! You’re here!”

Bai Zihan stopped.

He looked toward Bai Tianheng and the three Grand Elders.

”Father!”

Bai Tianheng quickly approached him.

He had been genuinely worried.

He was afraid that Bai Zihan would lose control the moment he heard about Bai Xueqing’s kidnapping and immediately charge toward the Shen Clan without making proper preparations.

Bai Tianheng stared at him for a moment before finally letting out a breath.

At least he hadn’t lost his reason.

That was already a good thing.

However, his expression quickly became solemn again.

”Zihan’er, we don’t know what the Shen Clan is planning. The fact that they dared to kidnap Xueqing’er inside the Heaven Sword Sect means they must have prepared something.”

Bai Zihan’s eyes narrowed slightly.

He understood that point as well.

The Shen Clan wasn’t powerful enough to act recklessly.

They knew exactly what kind of consequences they would face if they openly kidnapped Bai Xueqing.

Yet they had still done it.

That meant they either possessed absolute confidence in their ability to escape...

Or they were relying on something the Bai Clan didn’t know about.

Bai Tianheng continued.

”I don’t think the Shen Clan would do something like this without a reason. If they have any sense at all, they should know that kidnapping Xueqing’er is no different from declaring war against the Bai Clan.”

The three Grand Elders nodded solemnly.

The Bai Clan had already become the strongest force in the Eastern Region.

The Shen Clan had no chance of confronting them directly.

So why would they suddenly make such a reckless move?

There had to be something behind it.

Bai Tianheng’s expression became heavier.

He knew that their clan was already the strongest in the region.

However, what if the threat came from outside the region?

Long Haotian was a good example.

Who was to say that the Shen Clan didn’t have help from someone like him?

Although the Bai Clan had grown rapidly, they still couldn’t afford to assume that no one from the Central Region would interfere.

Bai Tianheng continued.

”If the Shen Clan has the courage to make a move against Xueqing’er despite knowing all of this...”

”Then they must either have some kind of hidden trump card or believe that the Bai Clan won’t be able to do anything to them.”

His gaze became cold.

”Either way, we cannot underestimate them.”

He nodded.

”Since you’re still thinking rationally, let’s return to the clan and investigate everything first. We need to know exactly what happened at the Heaven Sword Sect.”

”And more importantly...”

His voice became heavier.

”We need to determine where the Shen Clan took Xueqing’er.”

Bai Zihan finally spoke.

”Do we have any information about the Shen Clan’s movements?”

”Not yet.”

Bai Tianheng shook his head.

”The moment we received the news, I immediately sent people to investigate. However, the information coming from the Heaven Sword Sect is still incomplete.”

Bai Zihan nodded slightly.

”Then let’s return first. We’ll gather everything we know and determine our next move. Also call the Heaven Sword Sect Leader. I have a few questions for him.”

Bai Tianheng nodded.

”Good!”

The group began moving toward the Bai Clan once again.

However, as Bai Zihan turned around, his eyes became slightly colder.
