Transmigrated as the Villainess, my University Romance went Off Script

Chapter 202: Chapter 202: saturday XIII

Vivienne glanced down at the folder on her lap.

”Which one should we visit first?”

Damian looked over.

”We won’t need to choose.”

She turned toward him.

”What do you mean?”

”I arranged for them to come to us.”

Vivienne blinked.

He opened the folder and turned it toward her.

”I spoke with the coordinator at the community meeting facility last week. We already had the preliminary list, so I asked him to contact the businesses we’d identified and arrange a meeting.”

Vivienne looked over the names.

There were thirty.

”Thirty?”

”Yes.”

She looked at him.

”I thought we only needed around six.”

”We do. But not everyone will be willing to participate.”

”Or have enough surplus.”

”Exactly.”

Damian tapped the list.

”Some will decline. Some may have insufficient volume. Some may be interested but unwilling to commit to a regular arrangement. Thirty gives us enough room to identify the businesses that actually meet our requirements.”

Vivienne nodded.

That made sense.

She’d known they needed a larger pool, of course. She simply hadn’t thought through the logistics of getting all those businesses into one place.

Damian had.

”And you arranged all of this last week?”

”Yes.”

She gave him an amused look.

”You really did think ahead.”

”I’m your senior coordinator.”

He said it simply, almost as though it were obvious.

Vivienne’s expression softened.

”Thank goodness it’s you.”

Damian looked at her.

She was smiling directly at him.

For a second, he forgot what they had been talking about.

Then he managed a faint smile of his own.

”I’m glad you think so.”

Vivienne looked back at the folder before he could see how pleased she was with herself.

She hadn’t meant it to sound quite that flirtatious.

Actually—

She had.

Thirty businesses.

They would present the initiative, explain the partnership, find out what each establishment could realistically contribute, and narrow the pool from there.

They didn’t need to convince all thirty.

They only needed to find the ones that could make the model work.

The car began slowing as the meeting facility came into view.

Vivienne closed the folder.

”Then let’s see what we have.”

Damian nodded.

The car stopped.

Outside, the Foundation coordinator was already waiting for them.

”Lady Beaumont. Lord Blackwood. Everyone is inside.”

Vivienne stepped out.

Damian followed beside her.

Whatever else had been happening between them that morning, the moment they entered the building, they were a team again.

And this time, they had thirty potential partners waiting to hear what they had to offer.

--

The Foundation coordinator led them down the corridor toward the meeting room.

Through the glass panel beside the door, Vivienne could already see the gathering inside.

Thirty business representatives.

Some were seated together in small groups. Others stood near the windows, speaking quietly among themselves. A few looked mildly curious; others looked as though they were wondering why the Foundation had called them here.

Vivienne slowed for half a step.

Thirty was a lot.

She glanced at Damian.

He noticed immediately.

”Ready?”

She gave him a small smile.

”Now I am.”

The coordinator opened the door.

The conversations inside gradually quieted.

”Lady Beaumont. Lord Blackwood,” he announced. ”Thank you all for coming.”

Vivienne stepped forward.

She had done presentations before. She knew how to command a room without raising her voice.

She set her folder on the table at the front and looked around.

”Good afternoon. Thank you for taking the time to meet with us.”

The room settled.

”We’re here because we’ve identified a possibility within East Junction that we’d like to explore with you.”

Damian stood beside her, his own folder already open.

Vivienne continued.

”The Ashford Foundation is developing a Community Resource Partnership initiative. The basic idea is simple: businesses often have usable resources they can no longer sell or use themselves. Instead of allowing those resources to be discarded, we’re exploring a structured system through which they can be redirected to organizations that need them.”

A few representatives exchanged glances.

Vivienne didn’t rush.

”We’re not asking anyone here to make a commitment today.”

That immediately drew more attention.

”We’re asking you to consider whether your business could become part of the model.”

Damian stepped in smoothly.

”And, more importantly, whether such a partnership would be practical for you.”

Vivienne glanced at him.

Perfect.

He understood exactly when to take over without stepping on her presentation.

Damian continued.

”We’re not interested in one-time donations. The pilot is designed to determine whether a reliable, repeatable supply can be established.”

A man near the front raised his hand.

”What exactly would you collect?”

Vivienne answered.

”That depends on what each business can consistently provide.”

”Food?”

”Potentially.”

”Clothing?”

”If there is a suitable need and the condition and volume make collection practical.”

Damian added, ”We’re evaluating usable surplus, not simply anything a business wants to discard.”

That distinction immediately made several people sit straighter.

Vivienne nodded.

”We also don’t expect every business here to participate.”

She gestured lightly toward the room.

”That’s why we invited a broader group.”

A few people smiled at that.

”We’re looking for businesses whose surplus is substantial and consistent enough to support an ongoing collection system.”

Another representative spoke.

”And what do we get out of it?”

Vivienne didn’t hesitate.

”That’s exactly the question we want you to ask.”

She turned slightly toward Damian.

He picked up the thread.

”The Foundation can provide a structured collection arrangement rather than leaving businesses to find their own disposal or redistribution channels. We’ll establish collection schedules based on actual volume and coordinate the transfer to Foundation-connected beneficiaries outside East Junction.”

He paused.

”We’ll also document participation and recognize businesses that become formal community partners.”

A woman near the center frowned thoughtfully.

”So we’d be saving on disposal?”

”If your current surplus creates storage, handling, or disposal costs, potentially,” Damian said. ”But we’d need to understand your operation before we could determine that.”

Vivienne smiled faintly.

”And that’s what today’s discussion is for.”

The room became more animated.

Questions began coming from different corners.

How often would collections happen?

What types of resources could be accepted?

Would businesses have to commit to a fixed quantity?

What happened if their surplus fluctuated?

Vivienne answered some.

Damian handled others.

When the questions became more logistical, he was especially quick.

He knew the Foundation’s existing collection network, the limitations of its vehicles, the storage requirements of different resources, and the practical problems that arose when a route wasn’t large enough to justify the expense.

Vivienne found herself watching him for a moment.

This was the Damian she knew.

Not merely the charming man who had spent the morning carrying her bag and stealing her phone.

This was the senior coordinator who had spent years learning how the Foundation actually worked.

Competent.

Calm.

Certain.

She smiled faintly.

Thank goodness it’s you.

Damian happened to glance at her.

Their eyes met.

For a second, his expression softened.

Then another question came from the room, and they both turned back toward the discussion.

By the time the formal presentation ended, the atmosphere had changed completely.

They no longer looked like thirty business owners who had been summoned to a Foundation meeting.

They looked like thirty potential partners weighing an opportunity.

The coordinator stepped forward.

”We’ve arranged smaller discussion tables for anyone who would like to speak with Lady Beaumont and Lord Blackwood directly.”

Vivienne nodded.

”Please feel free to ask us anything.”

The room broke into smaller conversations.

Several people immediately approached.

Damian looked at Vivienne.

”Ready?”

She picked up her folder.

”As ready as I’ll ever be.”

He smiled.

And together, they stepped into the crowd.
