Chapter 1098: Chapter 850: War of Alchemy

Under the sudden impact, Huai Shi was stunned for a long time. After he tore up the emergency evacuation notice he picked up from somewhere, he finally came to his senses.

Whether it was true or not, this was definitely another huge trouble!

What happened to the promised fun and carefree trip?

Why does everything explode wherever I go?

He began to scratch his head and realized that he had been scratching his head too often lately. He couldn’t continue like this, or he would go bald.

So, he grabbed the nearby dog’s head to scratch, but after a long time, he still couldn’t make sense of anything.

Instead, the Broken Dog bit him several times.

He couldn’t bother to hit the dog.

The situation was dire.

One Great Grandmaster is already enough to stir Hell, yet Helios has two.

Garand traveled thousands of miles to come here, definitely not just to applaud Publius. Who knows what he is hiding in his belly?

And Publius was willing to turn all of Helios into Hell just to recreate a god...

Is such a thing really possible?

”If it were possible, you would see the Heavenly Kingdom on Earth, not this miserable scene.”

Tong Ji laughed mockingly, ”So-called god spirits are actually quite pathetic, alien beings flowing from the Central Pillar of God Marrow, tools executing the Sky’s Command... No matter how glorious they seem, they are just necessary components protecting the world, no different from white blood cells or red blood cells.”

She said lightly, ”Nowadays, the pillars of the Current Circumstances are occupied by three major blockades, and the gods from past continuations can only struggle to survive.

Trying to recreate a god in such a world is no different than fishing for the moon in water.

The times have changed long ago.”

”So, does that mean he can’t succeed?” Huai Shi asked, confused.

”Who knows, especially in this last remnant of the Age of God in Helios. If you ask me... it’s probably fifty-fifty.”

Tong Ji said indifferently, ”Anyway, whether successful or not, it’s all a disaster.”

”If it fails, all of Helios will be buried, for the consequences are unbearable; but if it succeeds, Helios will still be buried, because the Astronomical Society will be unable to accept the consequences.”

At this, she couldn’t help but look up towards the direction of the Current Circumstances, sighing, ”There might already be long guns and cannons aimed at this place from the Moon, ready to evaporate it completely upon detecting any anomaly.”

Well, at least everyone would have fifteen minutes to smoke a cigarette and relax, experiencing the carousel of life.

Relive the once happy moments.

That way, being a ghost would be carefree and happy.

Yeah, right!

The little dog of friendship yelped sharply because Huai Shi accidentally plucked two hairs from it.

Meanwhile, Huai Shi was instantly enraged.

How did I end up in front of friendly fire now!

Looks like not only the villains want me dead, even the allies want to backstab!

Who is the real second fifth here!

”Don’t worry, you don’t need to bear the burden.”

Tong Ji consoled, ”Even if everyone from the Stone Pot Society dies, Garand will not let Publius succeed.”

”Once the Astronomical Society’s trust is lost, the foundation of the Stone Pot Society will be shaken. If it comes to discussing the matters here, the one most unwilling for Publius to succeed should be him.”

At this, Huai Shi felt nothing but absurdity.

Originally wanting to scatter his remains like ashes, Old Turtle now faces the same issue as him. Not exactly an ally, and Huai Shi couldn’t trust him.

Thinking carefully, the situation was indeed hair-pulling. The situation was as heavy as Tarzan, yet he only had one person, one dog, plus half a Skeleton.

Small capital, limited resources, nowhere to start.

”Forget it, what’s the point of thinking so much!”

Once the Skeleton finished in the kitchen, Huai Shi complacently picked up the bowl in front of him, ”It’s time to eat!”

Hmm, delicious!

From afar, came a faint rumbling; the entire Helios began to tremble subtly.

It seemed like a struggle.

.

.

At Helios’ core, within the massive mystic ritual, boundless light surged and flowed, like an endless fountain of miracles.

And outside the matrix of light, a man in a robe slowly approached.

The heavy staff in his hand struck the ground, making a deep sound, causing the enormous silhouette in the light to slightly move, as if lowering its gaze to look at him.

A voice arose out of thin air.

”What is it?”

”The large group at the lower level has already lost half.”

He Di, once Helios’ chief Alchemist, informed him, ”Garand’s speed is faster than expected, the maze in the ’Activity Layer’ can’t trap him.”

After all, he is a Great Grandmaster; no matter how old, no matter how declining, a Great Grandmaster he remains.

Since he set foot in Helios, the operation of the mystic ritual has begun to experience problems.

”He will not succeed.”

The voice said, ”’I’ will cooperate with you.”

”Those lunatics you created are difficult to control and are each doing their own thing.” He Di frowned, ”At this rate, the situation will be impossible to manage.”

”No... need to control...”

The silhouette in the light began to tremble.

As if it was about to split but was forcibly recomposed.

The voice became increasingly ethereal, rapidly fragmenting, challenging to piece together, only the final whisper barely audible.

”Everything... is... a part... of Fate...”

This is the final step of ascending to godhood.

In the long silence, Publius said no more, and after a long silent pause, He Di turned and left.

Outside the core doors of Helios, in the empty space, countless figures sat in the darkness, bathing in the sediments of the Abyss, inhaling the poisonous breath from Hell.

”I told you before, that reclusive waste inside won’t give you any ideas.”

The downtrodden man drinking on the chair chuckled: ”’I’ will only tell you, everything is a part of fate’s cycle. Hehe, hehe... Trusting the success or failure of the Mystic Ritual to the whims of fate, don’t you feel like punching him?”

”That’s why I hate madmen.”

He Di sighed: ”Why can’t you be more rational?”

”A Piper’s believer advising rationality is like a ranch owner’s lamb advising vegetarianism, it carries no persuasive power at all.”

The man drinking swung the empty bottle in his hand, and then crystal-clear sweet wine appeared within, allowing him to drink joyfully: ”Why not indulge in revelry, my friend.”

He said, ”Don’t worry, leave everything to ’me’.”

He Di withdrew his gaze and said nothing more, waving his hand as he left.

With his mutated retinue and monsters, he disappeared into the darkness.

The man drinking continued guarding the door, gleefully drinking the wine.

Half the bottle was swallowed.

Half the bottle was tilted, pouring onto the ground.

As if a feast for the Undead here.

At that moment, a hundred miles away from here, separated by the cyclical labyrinth formed by Helios, the advancing formation suddenly halted.

The alchemist from the Stone Pot Society raised his head, looking up.

And saw countless scarlet poisonous fires appearing out of thin air, descending, instantly piercing through the mist, swiftly spreading, devouring all hard-struggling victims.

Soon, on the ground, aside from a black iron coffin, only ashes remained.

But then, the ashes quickly rose from the ground, condensing, transforming into naked bodies, and this time, they treaded upon the flames.

Features sharp.

Salamander’s fiery blood flowed within them, making them fearless of any heat and flame.

But immediately, the walls on either side seemed to come alive, closing in on them with a rumble!

No gruesome scene of bone and flesh turning into mud, for the steel walls were torn apart by the leading Artificial Human, the burly alchemist with skin tinged with the color of steel moved forward, lifting up a bizarre relic that resembled a Palette, sprinkling it towards everything before him.

Instantly, countless overflowing colors appeared out of thin air, flowing rapidly like living creatures.

Orange yellow, dark green, azure blue, ultramarine, olive green, ocher, peach pink...

Those vibrant or antiqued colors rapidly spread, instantly softening all the strangeness here.

Meanwhile, in the distance, at the very bottom level of Helios.

Huai Shi, paused in his meal.

Finding the world before him completely different.

To say something... the art style seemed somewhat changed, like a filter had been applied to adjust the color difference.

More bizarre was even the food that originally appeared simply delicious now glowed under the chopsticks.

”Wow, it looks so tasty.”

A skeleton that somehow became chibi version looked with small stars floating in its eye sockets.

Genuine little stars.

Stunned!

The whole world suddenly transformed into two-dimensional!

And then, all the anomalies disappeared.

But the battle between Great Grandmasters continued, on Jupiter, in the distant deep space, the severely damaged Child of Leviathan suddenly let out a high-pitched scream.

Rushing straight towards Helios!

Numerous heavy insulating shells emerged from its body, resisting the terrifying heat of the lunar corona’s flames, penetrating through Helios’s outer defenses like a cannonball.

Colliding with the mutated chariot at once.

But didn’t burst into a heavenly collapse and earth-shattering bang. Instantly, the giant whale melted into a pool of surging blood, infiltrating Helios without a gap.

Forcibly squeezed into Helios’s matrix.

The Mystic Ritual from Garand was embedded into the vast Helios at this moment.

At this instant, the herald of the protracted duel between the two Great Grandmasters finally sounded.

And still holding the rice bowl, Huai Shi heard Tong Ji’s lament.

”Fool, calculate, you’re eighteen this year, right?”

Apparently unintentionally, she withdrew her gaze from afar and casually asked.

”Hmm?”

Huai Shi raised his eyebrows and looked over, instinctively cautious.

His ’being arranged radar’ reacted!

”Now thinking back, these years I’ve really had it tough, dragging you up with so much poop and pee, hoping you’ll have success in the future.

Nowadays, you have a big house measuring hundreds of square meters, your job is secure, your career thriving, popularity among fans rising day by day... Seeing you more and more accomplished every day, life sweeter every day, sister, I’m truly delighted, words can’t fully express it.”

As she spoke, she raised her small wings, pretending to wipe the corner of her eye: ”But there’s one thing I truly can’t rest at ease. Every time I think about it, my heart feels like it’s being twisted by knives; I just hate myself as an incapable sister, unable to help you...”

What the heck, are you planning to arrange a date for me?

In Huai Shi’s highly alarmed and fearful gaze, she raised her head, suddenly revealing a smile:

”—Do you want a nice car?”

Dead silence.

Huai Shi was dumbfounded.

The food fell from his mouth.
