Chapter 549: Chapter 466: The Birth of Life_3

”Of course,” Huai Shi nodded, ”she used to be very beautiful, and now she must be even more so.”

”Have you two decided what she’ll wear when she comes?”

The store clerk chattered on, asking, ”If you ask me, a white dress would look lovely on her. You could pair it with a sunhat and sunglasses... What about high-heeled sandals? Do you think she’d like those? And would she want stockings? Black? White? Nude-colored? Any preference for the length? And...”

THUMP!

Suddenly, a thudding sound came from beneath the counter.

The clerk’s face twitched, her smile becoming strained, as she shrank back, pushed away by the old store manager.

”This is your tea.”

The dignified old store manager smiled as he brought over a tray, a teapot, teacups, and two servings of pastries.

”Well then, I wish you a pleasant journey, Mr. Huai Shi.”

He took a step back, nodding with a full-hearted blessing, ”And I congratulate you on reuniting with your friend. I shall not disturb you further.”

After watching the gracious lady depart, the old store manager turned and walked into the back kitchen.

In the quiet store, only Huai Shi remained, waiting in silence.

For a long, long time.

He heard the tinkling of the bell at the door; someone was pushing the door open.

Through the brilliant afternoon sunlight streaming in from the window, Huai Shi saw that familiar face.

Despite such a long separation and journey, the sparkle in her eyes was as pure as in years past, as clear as the ocean.

It seemed there were some changes, yet it also seemed there were none. She had grown a bit taller, her hair a little longer, and her demeanor was much more dignified and composed. She was just as strong and courageous as Huai Shi had imagined. Her face was fair, more beautiful than in the past.

After scanning the surroundings, she finally noticed where Huai Shi was.

She froze for a moment, removing the large sunhat from her head and holding it uneasily in her hands. She gazed at his face, seeming to want to speak but then hesitating, right up until Huai Shi smiled.

”Lily,” he said softly, ”long time no see.”

”Mhm.”

The teenage girl looked intently at the boy she hadn’t seen for so long, nodding vigorously.

Although her heart was filled with such excitement and joy, and although she had told herself many times to calm down, for some reason, she suddenly felt the urge to cry.

In the afternoon sun, the long-parted teenage girl shed tears and smiled at the friend before her,

”Long time no see, Mr. Huai Shi.”

This was their reunion after such a long time apart.

In this quiet and beautiful afternoon, they sat together, talking happily, sharing their experiences from their time apart—the hardships and helplessness, the achievements and joys. They truly felt each other’s presence. It was so beautiful.

As time gradually passed and weariness set in, they leaned on each other, drifting into a deep sleep. They were no longer afraid of separation and departure, but instead smiled, welcoming the arrival of tomorrow.

”He succeeded...”

Outside the All Spectrum Heaven Sphere, the three Creators looked on, clapping and cheering in celebration.

After four hundred years, the miracle Huai Shi had single-handedly salvaged from past records underwent a long period of guidance and nurturing. Finally, through Huai Shi’s own description, it was given tangible form once more, returning to the world of humans.

Through Huai Shi’s testimony, the Book of Fate was revised, and the essential spirit from those past events was truly transformed into a human.

From then on, she would have no more links to the past and would no longer need to wander through the void of records and phantoms. Instead, like everyone else, she could freely walk under the sky.

In human form, she began her brand-new life.

This was the birth of life.
