What Do You Mean I'm The Captain Of A Yandere Mercenary Company?

Chapter 672: The Creatures’ Research Progress

I watched what remained of the freighter float away into the darkness of space as our weapons powered down.

”Alright, we got what we needed so let’s go~” I ordered from my Captain’s chair.

Our ship’s Travel Drives charged up before we were catapulted through space once again, leaving the field of scrap behind.

Only after we no longer could see the battlezone did I relax and allow myself to lean back in my seat.

I was quite concerned that a battleship or something might suddenly pop out into existence beside us and we would be totally and royally screwed.

Hey, you never know with these kinds of things, ok?

One moment you could be just cruising through space escorting a freighter smuggling some stuff during a civil war and the next thing you know, you got hit by an interdiction pulse and then your entire convoy gets blasted to bits.

I turned to the side, ”So... What do we have inside those boxes? Please tell me we got what we needed?”

Yumiko turned from where she was seated at the communications console, ”Ries said that she’s still going through their contents but she already found a bunch of metals which she confirmed was what Franz was looking for, so we got it.”

I let out a sigh, ”That’s perfect then. Would be bad if we found out we didn’t get what we came here for and then wasted our time...”

”Yes, Mistress.”

I noticed the slight change in her voice and it took me a moment to realise what was the cause.

”You’re that excited to get your swords huh?”

She jerked slightly in surprise, ”Eh? Ah... Was it that obvious, Mistress? But yes, I feel ill at ease when I don’t have a blade on me. It practically feels like I was walking around unarmed and naked without a sword...”

I raised an eyebrow, ”Didn’t I let you have a gun the entire time?”

”It’s not the same, Mistress. I am still more comfortable with a sword than I am with a gun.”

Hmmm... I guess I can understand that. Like when you have a preferred weapon, using other types of weapon would feel really weird.

Speaking of which...

”How’s Mara’s research going?” I asked.

Yumiko tilted her head, ”Do you mean research on those creatures? I’m not sure and I don’t really want to know, to be honest.”

I shrugged, ”Fair enough. I guess I might as well go and check with her for now. Let me know if anything happens, alright?”

”Yes, Daddy!”

”Of course, Mistress.”

”Understood, Mistress.”

I waved at Renata, Lea and Yumiko before I left the bridge and headed towards the medical room to check on Mara.

The corridors of the ship were silent since Ries and Amber were still in the cargo area with a few copies of Renata to organise the stuff we got from the freighter.

Heading towards the medical room, I found the door open which was already weird to begin with and there were odd sounds coming from inside it.

I got worried that she might have gotten into some trouble with those creatures and quickly rushed inside, only to see that the sounds were coming from one of the creatures that was strapped to the examination chair in the centre of the room.

The sounds were actually moans and the reason for the moans was the fact that Mara seemed to be... Err... Shoving something phallic shaped in and out of the entrance that was between the creature’s legs.

And no, she wasn’t shoving it using her hands but instead, she was using her telekinesis to move the thing.

My doctor noticed my presence and perked up, ”Oh, hello Captain. I didn’t see you there. Is there something you need?”

”Err... I just came to check on how you were doing with these things. What are you doing?”

”Hmm? Oh. I’m trying to see if they react only to biological penises and it seems like they also feel pleasure just like humans do.”

”And is there even a reason for you to need to know that?”

”Of course. Since these things subsist on sperm as their source of nutrients, I wanted to see if they would react if there was a fake penis that was incapable of giving them that nutrient they need present. If you remember, they reacted quite negatively to us who do not have your wonderful cock.”

”Uh huh... And you’re shoving that inside it right now because...”

”It did not react when I brought it close to them but they did react when I shoved it inside them so it means they are also creatures that are capable of pleasure instead of one that operates on their survival instincts.”

”Umm... What does that even mean though? Like... What does that have to do with what you’re researching right now? Which I believe is to make use of Renata’s ability to transform?”

Mara flicked her hand and the object was sent flying out from in between the creature’s legs to float up into the air.

The creature let out a moan and shook its hips wildly, as though trying to coax the thing to return back into its hole.

Despite the fact that it wasn’t tied down to the chair, it did not try to grab that thing out of the air to shove it back into itself and just kept shaking its hips hoping that it would be able to entice the thing to return.

Mara let it whimper for a few moments before she shoved the thing back into its hole and repeated the motion again before turning to me.

”It means that this creature was closer to a creature of pleasure instead of survival. So its ability to transform could be related to its pleasure sensors instead of a survival instinct which would help me narrow down what I might be looking for in order to extract that data out of them.”

I stared at her without saying anything.

Eventually, she shrugged, ”I admit, I found that out the first few hours after I started but now I’m just having fun with its reactions since it’s quite amusing, don’t you think, Captain?”

Basically she’s just playing with the creature now...

She continued, ”I will say that it’s not without reason though. Since it was capable of shapeshifting, I was wondering if I could condition it to turn it into a male instead. I’m not sure what might trigger it so I’m doing some experiments at the moment just to see what changes it might undergo.”

Ok... Something tells me that I shouldn’t know what she has already tried...

”Right... I just need to ask one thing though... You’re not breeding it or anything, right? Or turning it into a nest like the one at the station?”

She tilted her head at me, ”Captain... If you forgot, the only one who would be capable of doing something like that is only you since no one else on this ship is capable of producing sperm.”

”Well... Technically, Renata is able to, isn’t she?”

”I highly doubt that she would even do that unless you tell her to, Captain. And I’m very sure that she’s infertile considering what she actually is.”

”Did you check?”

”The samples she brought me did show as such at least. Unless she is also able to change her fertility levels at will.”

”Seeing that she did create a sexual organ out of nowhere... I think it might be possible she could also create a womb or even testes if she wanted to...”

Mara nodded seriously, ”That is definitely a possibility, but again, she definitely won’t do it unless you tell her to. If you haven’t noticed, Captain, she treats everyone else who isn’t you differently.”

Yeah... I mean... She’s not even hiding that while in front of me either...

When she’s in front of me, it’s easy to forget that she basically has the knowledge of the GalaNet in her mind at all times...

”Well, then I guess I should ask the big question... How’s the progress on the gene mod you’re researching coming along?”

That made her perk up even more and her lips curled up into the barest of smiles.

”I’m glad you asked, Captain. Because I think I might be able to go even beyond just giving you tentacles. Just give me a while more to research on these creatures and I might have something even better cooked up for you once I’m done~ You can look for ward to it~”

Geez... I wonder why I felt a chill go down my spine when she told me that...

Something tells me that not only would I be sprouting tentacles from my body, I might even be sprouting other stuff as well or something...

Wait... She isn’t actually going to give me the ability to shapeshift, is she?

Nah... I think that’s a little too much even for her...

Guess I’ll just have to wait then.
