Primordial Villain with a Slave Harem

Chapter 1689 Give It All To Me

But Aurora? The girl who sat in the back and pressed shields? Daddyʼs needy little bitch who spent half her waking hours fussing over potions? THAT woman got an element before Vex did, and she was using it right now to protect the Hexwitch like she was some dementia-ridden granny who fell off the stairs and needed help getting back up.

ʼNo.ʼ The thought came hard and sharp enough to cut through the tears. ʼI refuse. I refuse to accept that.ʼ

Her mind began racing.

The system description hadnʼt said every bonded woman receives an element. Sheʼd seen the words when the Bloodfather class was born, felt them through the bond alongside everyone else, and nowhere in that announcement was a guarantee that each of them would draw one of Quinlanʼs seven elements.

Her fingers were still on the brand, and the warmth was still there, flat and patient and very much alive. The bond wasnʼt broken. Quinlan hadnʼt rejected her. The Reservoir was open and humming against her skin and the blood that ran through it was still his blood, still warm, still reaching for her.

ʼMaybe...ʼ The thought turned slowly, carefully, like a woman handling something fragile. ʼMaybe itʼs because Iʼm not like them.ʼ

The others had reached for the bond and pulled, Serika finding wind, Blossom finding lightning, Lucille finding magma. They took from Quinlanʼs Reservoir because they needed his strength, and that was fine, that was what the class was built for, built straight out of Quinlanʼs overwhelming desire to stand tall with his girls at his side, not by himself. They took from Quinlanʼs Reservoir because they needed his strength, and that was fine, that was what the class was built for, built straight out of Quinlanʼs overwhelming desire to stand tall with his girls at his side, not by himself. But Vex...

Vex didnʼt want to take from him.

She knew what Quinlan was carrying. She couldnʼt even begin to imagine the strain of feeding an entire familyʼs combat output from a single Reservoir while fighting a mutated dwarf king alone, and the idea of reaching into that pool and yanking out power for herself made her stomach turn in a way the jealousy hadnʼt.

ʼBecause Iʼm the one who loves him the most.ʼ Sheʼd fight every other wife in the harem over that claim and die on the hill smiling. ʼIʼm his undisputed number one, his most devoted, most loving wife, who refused to be a drain on the man sheʼd burn the world for, and thatʼs why the bond didnʼt give me an element.ʼ

The rationalization settled into her chest like a balm, and the tears slowed.

She didnʼt want to take. She wanted to give. She wanted Quinlan to reach into her and use everything she had, her mana, her stamina, her health, her very blood if it would keep him standing one second longer. That was what her curse had been about, the one sheʼd given him when she became his woman, curse hex sheʼd poured every ounce of her obsessive love into. She wanted to be so thoroughly given over to him that there was nothing left of her that wasnʼt his to spend.

But...

Her fingers twitched against the brand on her womb. The warmth pulsed once beneath them, and the thought that surfaced was vicious and perfectly Vex.

ʼThere is one thing in there I wouldnʼt feel bad about taking.ʼ

Neither an element nor Quinlanʼs power. Something else entirely, something that had been sitting inside her Hubby since the day he conquered it, something that had no business being that close to him in the first place.

...

Nyxara sat with one leg crossed over the other in Quinlanʼs soul realm with her chin in one hand and the fingers of the other between her teeth, gnawing on her nails while she watched someone she cared about get hit and couldnʼt do a single thing about it.

The realm stretched around her in its vast space, and the bond that existed between them after he conquered and bound her, let her feel every impact of the fight on the ridge, every exchange between her Ruin and the fused monstrosity that used to be a dwarf king.

ʼYou chose to take this fight instead of running, my Ruin... So as your devoted woman, Iʼll cheer you on... Even if the odds are stacked against you so bad, I will-ʼ

The voice hit Nyxaraʼs consciousness like a bucket of ice water, cold and hostile. The succubusʼs head snapped up, eyes going wide, and the nail sheʼd been chewing cracked between her teeth.

”...What?”

The voice was raw, clearly crying seconds ago, but the venom in it was unmistakable.

”What nonsense-” Nyxara started.

The question landed flat and final, a statement more than anything.

A pause. Then, for good measure:

The Bloodfatherʼs brand on Nyxaraʼs abdomen blazed crimson in the dark of the soul realm, and the demoness gasped as something fundamental began pulling away from her, with the inexorable certainty of a current that had found its destination and would not be argued with. Her power, her essence, the demonic authority she had carried since before Quinlan had conquered her, was being drawn through the bond by a nasty little mortal woman slinging curse words at her.

Vex had decided that she would rob the succubus squatting inside her husband instead of taking from him directly.

On the battlefield, Vexʼs hand was still pressed to her womb, and the brand beneath her fingers ignited.

The light that bled through the fabric was red, deep and saturated and wrong in a way that had nothing to do with the Bloodfatherʼs usual crimson. It pulsed once, twice, and on the third pulse the glow spread past the brandʼs edges and began crawling up her abdomen in lines that followed no pattern the Reservoir had ever produced. Ryonosuke, who had been winding up for another kick, stopped mid-motion.

”Oh?”

”Lord Ryonosuke, we must finish her and move on,” the retainer whoʼd spoken earlier said, her hand already on her katana. ”We donʼt have time for-”

”Shut up.”

The second retainer stepped forward with her blade drawn, ignoring his wishes, moving toward Vex.

Ryonosukeʼs hand caught her by the neck and shoved her backward so hard she stumbled three paces before catching herself, and the look on the retainerʼs face was genuine shock. ”You...”

He was smiling again. Wide, red-toothed, and alive in a way the weeping woman hadnʼt given him.

”Something good is coming.”
