Chapter 408 408: The Power of a Platinum Ranked Weapon

Now that Sophie had successfully slowed the convoy, it was time for Gabriel to do his thing.

His hand moved toward his waist, not for a new treasure, but for something smaller, something that looked almost out of place in this kind of fight. He retrieved a dagger. It was not flashy and did not glow like his greatsword. It looked like a simple tool compared to the monstrous weapon he carried.

Scarletʼs eyes narrowed slightly when she saw it, her curiosity rising, while Seraphinaʼs lips parted faintly as if she already understood what was coming, her gaze locking onto his arm.

Without hesitation, Gabriel took the dagger and stabbed his own arm.

He did not do it lightly. He drove it in deep, the blade sinking into flesh with a clean, brutal motion that made even nearby fighters flinch. Blood poured out instantly, not a small cut, but a heavy flow that ran down his forearm and dripped onto the dirt in thick drops.

Scarletʼs expression shifted, not to fear or panic, but to pure curiosity mixed with alertness.

Gabrielʼs face remained calm despite the intense bleeding. He held his arm steady, then dragged the bleeding wound across the greatsword, letting his blood pour onto the crimson blade like a sacred offering.

The moment the blood touched the weapon, the sword reacted.

The faint crimson glow suddenly intensified, as if the blade had been starving and had finally been fed. Lines of light spread across its surface like veins, brightening with every drop, and the air around the weapon began to tremble faintly.

The greatsword shimmered, then shimmered harder, and the glow grew so intense that it became painful to look at directly. Scarletʼs eyes widened slightly, and she instinctively raised an arm to shield her face, because the light coming off the blade was no longer a normal weapon glow, forcing her to look away for a moment.

”This… is he feeding the weapon?” Scarlet muttered under her breath, her voice low.

Gabriel pulled the dagger out of his arm, letting the blood continue to flow, and did not bother treating the wound. He simply gripped the greatsword tighter.

The ground beneath him reacted as well. Dust lifted into the air, small stones vibrating as the pressure around the sword thickened. Even the nearby gunfire sounded dull for a moment, as if the battlefield itself was being forced to acknowledge something greater than bullets and screams.

Seraphina tilted her head as she watched with interest, and for the first time she did not look merely amused. She looked like she was witnessing something familiar, a method that relied on sacrifice and power rather than mercy.

Sophie was still ahead, forcing the convoy to slow, her vines struggling desperately against burning metal and gunfire, unaware of what was happening behind her. Scarlet saw it clearly and understood one thing immediately. Whatever he was about to do, it was not going to be small.

Without saying a word, Gabriel stepped forward and planted his feet firmly into the dirt, facing the approaching tanks. The greatsword looked heavier now, not in size but in presence, as if its weight was pressing down on everything around it. He exhaled slowly, his eyes narrowing as his expression turned cold and focused, then lifted the blade.

Fwisish!

He slashed once through the air.

The motion was not wide or dramatic. It was clean, controlled, and terrifyingly confident. The moment the blade cut through the air, a half moon shaped arc of energy formed, glowing crimson with white edges, pulsing with the same violent light the sword had been emitting. The arc did not fade. It stabilized for a brief moment like a solid object, then shot forward.

Fwoosh!

The sound was not like a normal slash. It was as if the air itself had been torn open, releasing a deep roaring pressure that made ears ring. The arc slammed into the front of the convoy with impossible weight, like multiple planes crashing at once, and the lead vehicles took the hit head on.

BroooooooooooooooooooooM!!!!

The impact was immediate and brutal. Armor plates buckled. The front tank dipped violently as if struck by an invisible giant fist, and the ground beneath it cracked outward in a wide pattern.

The second tank smashed into the first because it could not stop in time, but before the collision fully happened, the energy arc exploded through the area. The shockwave flung soldiers off their feet.

Gabriel did not stop. He slashed again, and again, and again. Each swing created another half moon arc of energy, each one launching forward with crushing force. The arcs spread outward, tearing through the convoyʼs path, striking vehicles, smashing tanks, and hammering the ground so hard that chunks of earth and broken metal flew into the air like shrapnel.

The eastern camp soldiers watching from behind the convoy froze with mouths open and eyes wide. This was not a normal skill. This was not a simple sword technique. This was battlefield erasure.

Scarlet stood still, her eyes locked on the destruction, and even she looked stunned. The scale of the damage was far beyond what she had expected from someone who had not even completed his first class advancement.

The arcs landed deeper into the convoy, and the destruction only worsened. One tank was lifted slightly off the ground by sheer force, its tracks twisting as its body tilted before crashing back down as a broken heap. Another vehicleʼs cannon snapped sideways as if struck by a giant hammer. Explosions chained together, not magical flashes but real fuel and ammunition detonations, turning the organized convoy into a burning line of violent orange flame.

From a distance, it looked like something unnatural had been launched. Light flashed repeatedly from the impact zone, and thick smoke rose rapidly, forming a dark cloud that spread outward. A powerful heat wave rolled across the battlefield, making soldiers flinch and stumble back. For a moment, it genuinely looked as if a nuclear weapon had been dropped directly onto the convoy.

The enemy side fell silent.

Even those still fighting on the main battlefield paused, their attention drawn toward the convoy as the roar of destruction drowned out everything else. On the rooftop, Henry and the officers around him froze, staring in disbelief as the pride of their heavy armored force was erased in seconds.

Meanwhile, deep inside the camp, Dominic, the strongest person in the eastern camp, observed everything. His eyes flashed with something close to fear before the emotion slowly faded, replaced by a smile.

”That sword,” he said softly, eyes flashing ”will make a great addition to my collection.”
