The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Little Taotie was surprised: ”Can hypnosis erase memories?”

The elder nodded: ”Selectively erase memories about the Special Department, or put her in an illusion where she thinks she read a book that mentioned the existence of the department, so she won’t believe it’s real from now on.”

”Is it 100% effective? What if she pretends to have amnesia?” Little Taotie was very interested in hypnosis and kept asking.

The elder laughed: ”Why don’t you give it a try?”

”How do I experience it?”

”I’ll hypnotize you to forget eating.”

Little Taotie shook her head: ”Forget everything? Eating is something I would never forget.”

The elder laughed out loud: ”Then let’s try another one, you pick something you want to forget.”

Little Taotie blinked her big eyes, her little dimple caved in, and she said in a cute, childish voice: ”Make me forget the life in the mountains, wait, that won’t do. If I forget the life in the mountains, I’ll forget Grandpa, and I don’t want to forget Grandpa. Hmm... let me think, okay, make me forget about when Mom in the mountains hit me.”

Looking into the child’s clear eyes, the elder couldn’t laugh anymore. He put away his smile and asked seriously: ”Do you really want to forget?”

Little Taotie nodded emphatically.

The elder took Little Taotie’s hand and went towards the hypnosis room.

In the hypnosis room, soothing sounds played, like the sound of waves lapping at the beach.

”Close your eyes...”

The elder hypnotized Little Taotie, and the little girl had fallen sound asleep.

The elder sat beside her waiting. When the hourglass was empty, he blew a whistle to wake the little girl up.

Little Taotie blinked her big, watery eyes, still somewhat drowsy.

”How was your mountain mom to you?” the elder asked.

Little Taotie’s expression gradually changed from blank to aggrieved, then to disappointed and dismal. Her little mouth pouted, and she said softly: ”It didn’t work, I haven’t forgotten.”

The elder was astonished.

Such things actually have happened before.

Hypnosis is not 100% effective. Some Superpower Users can resist the effects of hypnosis, like Psychic Ability Users.

”If it didn’t work, then how could you fall asleep?” the elder was puzzled.

Little Taotie yawned a tiny yawn, ”Without finding Head Grandpa, I haven’t been sleeping well these days.”

The elder was speechless, realizing that the child came here to catch up on sleep!

”Never mind, I don’t mind not forgetting. When I grow up and learn more things, these memories will become very small, and get squeezed out by the knowledge in my head.”

The elder pressed his lips together, not knowing how to comfort her, appearing a bit tongue-tied.

”Deputy Head Grandpa, do you think we can find Head Grandpa?”

”Don’t call me that.”

”But you’re here as Deputy Head Grandpa. If I don’t call you that, what should I call you?”

”Alright, call me whatever you want.”

”Deputy Head Grandpa, I want to visit the passageway under the Black Rock.”

”That’s too dangerous.”

”Will you go?” Little Taotie asked.

”I will.”

”It’s not dangerous when you go alone, but it is when I go?” The little girl stomped her foot in indignation.

The elder said: ”Shen Cang also wouldn’t agree for you to risk going to find him.”

Little Taotie snorted twice but didn’t argue further.

After leaving the hypnosis room, she ran to find Hua Jinyan.

”Hmph, he won’t let me go, but he’ll go himself. I won’t listen to him. I’m going to find Head Grandpa!”

Hua Jinyan didn’t hesitate and agreed: ”Okay, I’ll go with you!”

As the two children left the Ancient Castle, they met a pair of shoes. When they looked up, they saw the elder’s smiling face, ”Where are you two going, hmm?”
