Slime Evolution

Chapter 205: 205 - Bar

After selling the valuable parts of the cockatrices they had hunted, their total earnings came to 120 silver coins!

After setting aside 10% of that amount for the guild, which they would reserve as funds for future investments and other essential expenses, they still had 108 silver coins left.

Dividing that amount by 8, each received 13.5 silver coins!

For Lohan and Lisa, this amount was still well below what they used to earn when farming alone, even though the total amount farmed had increased.

But between dividing 120 among 8 people or dividing 40 among 2, it was clear which was more profitable.

Although they didn’t care about that.

The soldiers decided to sell 10 silver coins to Alice, which, at the rate she paid, amounted to a total of $2,000 in their real-world bank account.

Adding in the loot they’d obtained from other monsters they’d hunted while Lohan and Lisa were offline, the total amount earned by each soldier was 16 silver coins, so keeping 6 silver coins in-game to level up and selling the rest was perfect.

Looking at that sky-high amount, the eyes of those five people sparkled, unable to believe they could earn so much money in a single day!

Ever since they were hired by Alice to work as soldiers in Elysium, they had to quit their jobs in the real world and focus exclusively on in-game development.

”Two thousand credits in a day... hahaha!” Holding a glass of nectar, a popular drink in Thalendor’s bars, Samantha laughed from the bottom of her heart, before downing the rest of the drink in a single gulp. ”When my mom finds out I earned my monthly salary in the last two days, she’s going to go crazy...”

”Crazy? If my relatives knew how much money I made, I wouldn’t have a moment’s peace; everyone would look for an opportunity to ask me for money, with problems popping up one after another that I, as a relative, would have a ’duty’ to help with.” Wyrm laughed with a deep voice; even though he was saying something unpleasant, he still couldn’t wipe the smile off his face.

That cheerful atmosphere would be hard to shake from that group.

”My dad almost disinherited me when he found out I quit my security job at Atlas to work at Elysium... even though I explained to him that Alice’s contract would pay me way more than that job, he couldn’t accept that I’d give up a secure job for something so uncertain. Now I’m sure his opinion will change in a flash, hahaha!” Dee laughed loudly, also very happy.

Everyone had gone through difficult situations before taking the risk of quitting everything to work at Elysium.

Even though Alice had signed a reliable contract with each of them, with a salary far higher than what they had been earning at their previous jobs, the uncertainty was strong.

Now that the rewards had arrived, they were finally relieved.

Lohan, Lisa, and Alice looked at them with smiles on their faces.

Of the three, only Alice was drinking as well.

Lohan had tasted the drink, but with his Slime physique, the taste was completely unappealing to him; as for Lisa, who had no thumbs, she didn’t want to drink it like a dog, so she chose to just sit and watch.

Fortunately, the appearance of monsters like them wasn’t all that extraordinary, since Monster Tamers were becoming increasingly popular in Thalendor, and given how ”well-behaved” they were, no one was bothered by their presence.

Lohan had also decided to sell 10 silver coins, to use that money to buy food and more nutritional supplements.

Since his body was evolving and demanding more nutrients, he knew he’d need to invest heavily in that, especially now that he’d evolved; he was both curious and scared about what would happen to his body in the other world.

If the sensation of evolution had already been so intense after he went from Level 9 to Level 10, imagine what it would be like when he reached Level 11?

For now, Lohan was in no hurry to leave Elysium.

Tomorrow would be Saturday; he wouldn’t need to wake up early, so for him, this moment was simply a time to rest and consolidate his evolution before returning to the hunt.

Lisa shared the same sentiment as him.

Having risen to Level 11, they realized that the power gap between them and the soldiers had grown so much that the soldiers would only be holding back their progress from here on out, so they decided to train more at night on their own.

Alice had already been hunting with the group all day, so she would also log off to rest.

Suddenly, Lisa blinked in surprise.

”Ohh, Dylan told me that he and his group will probably come to the Open World tomorrow!” she said excitedly.

Hearing that, Alice was surprised, and soon her surprise turned to excitement.

Lohan, who had no idea who Dylan was, controlled the artificial little eyes he was practicing keeping on his face to show the confusion he felt.

This was his way of practicing his body control at all times. Starting as something to help with socialization, Lohan realized that keeping that expression active all the time and always matching what he was feeling was a very difficult task, but that it slowly and steadily improved his control, so he kept at it.

And it really worked; even without him saying a word, just from the facial expression he tried to show, Alice understood what he was thinking and explained with a smile.

”Dylan is our other best friend; since we were kids, the three of us have been inseparable. Just like me, he also formed a group of soldiers in Elysium to help develop the Bella Guild. I even thought he’d reach the Open World before me, but he said he’d encountered a special situation in his Novice Village that delayed his plans a bit.”

With Alice’s explanation, Lohan looked at Lisa and saw an excited, sincere smile on her face, the same one she wore when she spoke of Alice.

This made him a little suspicious.

’This time the friend is a man... I hope he doesn’t cause any trouble...’ He sighed, feeling that, as things stood, he was already quite satisfied.
