The Sinful Young Master

Chapter 299: Meeting Caelum Kaezhlar

Meanwhile, in the depths of the Dreadlands, where shadows writhed with malevolent purpose and the very air pulsed with dark energies, another convergence was taking place.

The two clans were on an endless killing spree. Unlike in the midlands, the number of nyphorites was ten times more, and a thick wave of their herd came at them.

It had been another set of weeks since their time in the depths, but they still hadn’t got used to the miasma in the air.

Caelum was starting to sense that Nynthralls had taken complete control of these creatures. In the past they wouldn’t even stand the sight of nynthralls, but now, they were being commanded by them.

He was the driving force of the Kaezhlar clan and his gold knights were no less; they were like a heavy boulder crashing on the herds and killing them instantly.

The Naemarys siblings weren’t far off. Their magic was one to talk about. Both of them were strong and were at the level of tier 8 mages.

While these two clans were progressively moving in the depths, a third party had entered the fray.

And the two clans have already got wind of it.

The Blue Rose Seraglio had entered the fold, their exotic banners marking their passage through the twisted landscape like flowers blooming in a wasteland.

Blue Rose Matriarch Raayani led her band of women deeper into the Dreadland’s heart, her presence commanding respect even among the dangerous denizens of this cursed realm.

Prince Veydrin rode beside her, his normally composed demeanour showing hints of tension as they navigated paths that defied natural law. The emperor summoned her through sending the decree along with his brother, who was her lover.

Blue Rose was part of the empire, but it had enough wealth and power of a kingdom. Raayani acted as an independent and separate entity, not as a vessel of the empire.

Blue Rose was bound to the empire by the old laws.

And that was the reason the emperor chose to tread carefully with Blue Rose.

The Seraglio’s army of women moved with practised grace through terrain that would have broken lesser mortals, their training evident in every step.

Raayani herself was a vision of deadly beauty—her silver hair adorned with blue roses that seemed to pulse with their own inner light, her silk robes cut to allow for swift movement while maintaining an air of exotic elegance. She was a woman who had built her house through wit, charm, and ruthless determination, transforming the Blue Rose Seraglio from a house into a network of influence that spanned kingdoms.

Raayani had reached the place where two clans had set up their tents. She could see the Kaezhlar clan’s flag flapping on the far end of the site. And seeing the flag, something lit in her eyes as her eyes shone.

Raayani was on her horse, and beside her was Veydrin, who was riding along with her. Behind them, the women of the blue rose Seraglio were present, their veils fluttering in the wind.

Seeing her delightful expression, Veydrin said, ”What are you thinking?”

Raayani turned to him and smiled, ”When was the last time you met Caelum?”

Veydrin frowned. It had been a while since she brought up that name. Veydrin also knew Caelum; in fact, they were all around the same age, and during their prime, they had their fair share of adventures. He was also aware of how Raayani strongly wanted Caelum to be her lover at that time, but Caelum rejected her, which led to a fight between them. They fought every time they saw each other. And every time Caelum would just leave after a couple of swings.

And suddenly Veydrin was starting to feel anxious.

”Wait, are you going to...?”

Raayani chuckled, ”Don’t worry, Veydrin. I won’t.”

But Veydrin couldn’t help but worry.

As they approached Caelum’s domain, Raayani’s thoughts turned to conversations she had with him.

Every time they met, they only talked with their swords, and it had been a really long time since she clashed swords with him.

Now, her interest lay not in Caelum himself but in his nephew—the extraordinary young Jolthar, whose exploits had reached even the exotic courts of the Blue Rose territories.

Jolthar, the boy whose power could consume shadows and slay his enemies.

Raayani found herself drawn to power like a moth to flame, and Jolthar represented power in its purest form. She remembered her gamble with him and was hoping she could meet him again, but he was nowhere to be found.

She would have married him herself if she were younger, but pragmatism had taught her to think beyond personal desire. At first, she just thought of sleeping with him, but as she got wind of what was happening in the barony and the person who made it possible, her thinking changed.

She wanted him to be bound by her house.

And that’s when she thought of her older daughter.

Her elder daughter possessed beauty that could stop hearts and ambition that could move mountains—a perfect match for a young man destined to reshape the world.

And it was the reason for coming here today, to meet Caelum.

The negotiations with Caelum would be delicate.

The man had refused her once before, but now she came not as a supplicant seeking his favour but as an equal offering alliance.

The transformation of Tekkora from backwater barony to thriving commercial hub spoke to Jolthar’s natural gifts, but those gifts would need careful cultivation to reach their full potential.

As the Blue Rose Seraglio finally reached the heart of Caelum’s domain, Raayani prepared herself for a conversation that would change the power balance of the midlands.

Veydrin stood at the edge of the bustling camp, his eyes fixed on her as she gracefully navigated the maze of tents that comprised the clan’s settlement. A nagging awareness settled deep within him: their presence here was far from welcome. Every pair of eyes that fell upon them conveyed a silent message, a mixture of suspicion and disdain that pierced through the vibrant atmosphere. The stares and glares they received were not just casual glances; they were pointed and cold, making it painfully clear that the clan members held no appreciation for their intrusion.
