Saintess Summons Skeletons

[Quantic transposition]:

/!\ Experimental - Use at your own risk /!\

Transpose yourself with light in your current image.

Always a reassuring warning… Gonna ignore that.

Though I suppose it’s not like too many people could possibly even test this with the thirty divine essence requirement. I might even be the only one.

Transpose yourself. So, like… Teleportation?

Light in my current image. What– does that mean exactly? I can teleport into mirrors?

There also isn’t anything else; no cost? No limitations? No nothing? Do I have the mana circuits to use this? Does it need any?

Huh. Now that’s a weird feeling. I can tell I should be able to use it. It’s like… Like my essence cores are a taut bowstring I can just release to go. How does that even work?

Let’s check VPPV before I try anything stupid.

Oh…

The training is… Damn.

What in the fuck is a light year?!

♢ [Venerable physique of the primeval void] ♢ - Starting Step Boundless Space realm :

The primeval void was born of the universe’s first shadow.

You cannot be hurt by the cold and cannot be traced in the spirit realm

Shadows and light are two faces of a single coin.

Light forging realm :

You no longer age.

You have become a [Lumian].

The primeval void is your domain.

9- Enter Primeval void from Deep

For a round trip to be successful, the entire process should last as little time as possible. Ideal time for best progress = under ten seconds.

[Unlocks transposition to all planes from all planes]

Complete first step to unlock further steps.

What did I get myself into with this one… Under ten seconds?!

Just the two resurrections will take at least six! Do you take me for Speed or what?!

Still… I’m not reading this wrong. It’s a free ticket to teleport from anywhere to anywhere, no?

Time to search for a way to enter the Deep again.

While Sofia was reading her skill, Bookie had started chatting with Pestle, while Pareth was still lounging on the ground.

“Pareth, I’m trying my new skill. It might be dangerous so uh… If anything weird happens, don’t follow unless I tell you to, alright?”

Pareth nodded, sitting up.

Sofia focused on her essence cores, all the divine essence resonating strangely together.

A strange mass appeared in her mind, like a weirdly shaped blurry and scrambled cloud of countless stars forming wave trails in all directions. Near a corner of the cloud, one star shone brighter than all the others.

What the hell is–

Sofia tried to observe one of the stars from up close, she saw herself.

Wearing the same clothes she was currently wearing, she was standing up in a different position.

Is that… My light?

Sofia stood up and copied the posture of the image ingrained in her mind.

Under Pareth’s shocked gaze, Sofia suddenly faded out of existence.

At the same time, Sofia found herself somewhere else. The transition had been instant and seamless, all the runes on her body shining brightly for a few seconds before dimming down again.

Holy shit.

She was in the middle of literally nowhere.

Space, the perfect black, cold, silent, empty.

She was so far that even her link with Pareth felt damaged, she could tell they were still linked, and give a vague direction, but that was it.

I doubt you can hear me like this, but if you do, I’m fine, I think.

Divinity: 31 / 130

So this was the ‘ressource’... Looks like I’m stuck here for a bit.

Using the runeforged overlord flight to turn around, Sofia looked in the direction she felt her link with Pareth was. One star glimmered much stronger than the others in the black void of space, although it was still nothing but a small dot like all the other stars.

I see. So I’m not that far.

Still, I’m basically in the dark. Sun’s ritual isn’t working. The essence cores are also all… Weird. From being so far from their gods, I guess.

I wonder…

Sofia tried to use her ring to Zangdar, but even when the magic resolved, nothing happened.

Well shit.

She tried her storage ring next. No response.

Ah! The eye works! And the halls too! Hmm. So I can actually bring the skeletons around with me if they just stay in the hall.

Bookie can you hear me? If you do, come here.

Sofia waited but Bookie never appeared.

Hmm… I wonder…

‘Successfully transpose over a 1 Light-year distance or higher. (1/100 times)’

Hmm. So a light year is the distance light goes in a year, I guess? That’d explain how I ended up here. Why would you name a distance with a time unit though? I get it but it’s unnecessarily confusing…

Then I switched places with light from at least one year ago.

That’s straight up ridiculous.

Also… How the fuck am I supposed to go back?

Though Sofia could still summon the light map in her mind, she couldn’t use the skill yet, and while she could mostly remember where the shining star was, which she now understood was her current position, there was going to be an issue.

Any light I emitted while on Veliadren has already travel fucking far away from the planet by now. And I also know that the planet is moving. It’s pretty much impossible to return isn’t it?!

… If I manage to transpose close enough to it I might be able to reach Zangdar again. Yeah.

That’s my best bet, I think…

Sofia checked her Divinity again.

Divinity: 32 / 130

So slow!!!

Annoyed, Sofia summed a bone chair, holding it up against her with her aura to allow herself to sit.

Doesn’t feel nearly as good without gravity.

She spent a bit of time observing the stars.

Divinity: 33 / 130

Eugh…

Boundless space… Well, I’m feeling it now. Feeling it really well… Cold and dark and boring, just like I remembered…

Hmmm. Now that I think about it. Isn’t this skill perfect to escape from the eye of the universe thing? Are the high scribes really in their right mind giving me a tool I could use to escape the prison they use against the ascended?

If they ever want to restrain me like they did Hugo can’t I just transpose myself out?

So much for nothing being able to go faster than light. Just transpose your way there.

Well, it was a false assumption in the first place, I doubt the Lords are unable to travel faster than light.

Speaking of, this sight isn’t all that bad. Reminds me of that time I almost killed myself saying the Regulator’s name. I think I’ve been subconsciously avoiding using her real name since then…

Regulator… Hopefully what I just did wasn’t outside of the regulations.

Ormoncleth is watching either way so…

I think I understand Shaily now.

Knowing She is watching.

I’m not truly alone, even here.

That’s a bit heartwarming…

Sofia grabbed her scepter out of her eye storage.

Glad I put you in there today.

She grabbed the small bell attached to the scepter, it still shone with the weak iridescence of the Deep. Sofia shook the scepter. The bell chimed lightly, breaking the spatial silence.

Space is so strangely peaceful.
