Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Not able to care less about the feelings of the senior cultivators observing his ascension up the immortal ascension staircase from the outside, Xuan Hao found himself officially stepping onto the final 11.674 step of the spiral staircase.

”Hm? This… How surprising, to think the final illusion would be something this simple.”

Expecting a truly difficult illusion when he stepped onto the final step of the immortal ascension staircase, Xuan Hao was a bit surprised when he was met with nothing more than a simple path carved into a green mountain side covered in a layer of soft looking grass with a few trees scattered on one side and a small forest on the other. His cultivation was not the slightest bit restricted and the challenge he had to overcome not the slightest bit challenging in his eyes, as he merely had to walk 11.674 steps up the path before him with his cultivation intact, something that should be simple to say the least.

The only somewhat worrying part about this illusion compared to any of the other illusions he had found himself facing on the immortal ascension staircase being the fact that he couldn’t sense even a single flaw within the illusion. Meaning he had to follow the challenge given by the illusion to get through it.

Shaking his worries about this aside for now, he didn’t linger along the edge of the first step for long and began his journey up the side of the peaceful mountain. Finding that outside of his speed being restricted to that of a normal mortal once he began his walk up the mountain path, there was no other change or restriction. Not even the pressure part of him had expected to face when ascending a mountain path.

Strange was the only word he could use to describe how he was feeling as he made his way up the mountain. Always expecting something to jump on him or the situation to change before something stopped him from continuing his journey upwards.

However, in the end, he made it all the way to the top without encountering any such unexpected challenges and the entire journey up was peaceful from beginning to end. The only thing keeping him at edge being his own thoughts, as the illusion didn’t challenge him in the slightest. Already starting to dissolve as he found the illusion had been completed successfully.

The illusion might have some kind of deeper meaning or perhaps served as a reflection of some kind for the past illusion he had gone through… But… He hadn’t really experienced anything nor gone through the illusions the intended way and had essentially speedrun the entire immortal ascension staircase. Not caring the slightest bit about the challenges, he had to complete.

[Current Floor: 27]

[Task: Ascend the immortal ascension spiral staircase.]

[Progress: Complete]

[Reward: 250.000 Ascension Coin]

And as if to ensure him that he had indeed ascended the immortal ascension spiral staircase, the task from the ascension realm tower decided to make its presence know as it popped up before him and announced its presence alongside a brand new path emerging at the end of the spiral staircase that had seemingly ended above the clouds. A path that he clearly sensed led back to the ground floor of the ascension realm tower or towards the space between floors to reach the twenty eighth floor that he had already traversed through in the past if he wished to go through the several days long journey again.

RUUUUMBLE-!

However, before he could take a step forward and leave the small world alongside the three earthly treasures that would help him reach the Late Stage of the Land Creation Realm, the very heavens above began shaking violently as a towering spatial passage was forcibly torn open by some unknown power before a powerful divine sense poured down from above. Following which, he felt said divine sense far exceeding the Profound Immortal Realm, locking on to him.

Even without a single word, he understood that this should be the divine sense of some powerful being from the so-called immortal realm and the opening of the spatial passage by the seemingly unknown power should be the passage for ascension to the immortal realm.

Although not clear about the intention of the one behind the powerful divine sense, he at least felt certain that the other party had nothing to do with the spatial passage that had opened.

Still… Having originally wanted to peek through the spatial passage into the immortal realm, he now found his divine sense completely blocked by that far more powerful divine sense preventing him from peeking into the immortal world.

”OUTSIDER! DIE!”

Even worse, the owner of that powerful fellow from the so-called immortal world clearly didn’t come with kind intentions in mind, as he almost immediately felt a terrifying killing intent followed by a terrifying power descending towards him from above.

Undoubtedly, this fellow somehow knew he wasn’t a local of the small world and intended to kill him off.

Of course, with a path out right next to him, Xuan Hao didn’t bother lingering around waiting to be squashed as he quickly escaped through the path opened by the ascension realm tower. Successfully ensuring that he wouldn’t end up losing those three earthly treasures because some senior figure from the immortal world decided to step in and forcibly cross worlds to kill him.

The entire situation happened so fast that the locals below didn’t even have time to react before a heaven spanning palm suddenly descended from above and directly wiped out the city below and cracked the small world in half in the process. Displaying a power far beyond anything Xuan Hao personally had the opportunity to witness. A power capable of directly destroying an entire small world, a power that exceeded that of the Profound Immortal Realm and had undoubtedly already reached the Venerable Realm that came after the Profound Immortal Realm. Maybe even the legendary Holy Lord Realm that he still lacked sufficient knowledge on…
