Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Chapter 455 - Qing Yi’s Rank Is...

”With that, the last person has left the alchemy trial!”

Coming back out from the alchemy trial located inside the large cauldron, these were the first words Qing Yi heard before seeing all the other participants looking over towards her with both curious and envious looks on their faces.

”Qing Yi, right? You did well during the alchemy trial! You can just go over to the rest of the participants for now, I will be announcing the results of the alchemy trial shortly.”

Suddenly seeing the elderly Artisan Alchemist appear in front of her before saying this, Qing Yi only managed to nod her head before already having made her way over to the location where the other participants were waiting. Still feeling a bit bewildered over what had just happened.

”You did really great! I think you will definitely enter the top three together with me!”

”You too, I hope both of us can at least enter the top three…”

Hearing the familiar voice of the young girl she had talked with during the earlier stages of the alchemy competition, Qing Yi smiled cheerfully as she said this. Even if she had only known the young girl for a short time, Qing Yi felt like she was a nice person and got along quite well with her. For her to enter the top three would definitely not be something Qing Yi was against. At least she liked the young girl compared to the other participants that she knew nothing about…

”Yeah! We will definitely do the best among everyone here!”

Listening to the cheerful young girl, Qing Yi could not help but smile as both of them soon turned to look towards Fang Shi. Waiting for him to officially announce the who won the alchemy competition.

”I guess there is no use dragging this out any longer, I will now announce the ranking for the alchemy trial. Starting with the last place before moving towards the first place. First off, in the twentieth place with 34 points is…”

As Fang Shi began announcing their ranking and how many points they got, Qing Yi could not help growing a bit nervous.

I wonder how many points I managed to get in the end… Hopefully the incomplete potion at least gave me a few points for the effort…

Thinking about this, Qing Yi focused all of her attention on Fang Shi.

The rest of the participants were the same, as everyone looked up towards Fang Shi filled with expectations. After all, the higher their rank was, the better rewards they would get and at the same, they would also have more resources focused on their development by their elders when they returned back home!

…

”I wonder what kind of technique she used during the fourth test of the alchemy trial…” At the same time Qing Yi was thrown out of the alchemy trial and Fang Shi began announcing the final ranking of the alchemy competition, Xuan Hao could not help but think about the technique that his disciple had used during the fourth test.

Even if she had failed the fourth test, it was more than enough time for him to understand just how useful the technique that she had been using to brew without a cauldron was!

Feeling a bit excited when he thought about the alchemy technique, Xuan Hao prepared himself to shamelessly ask his disciple for it after the alchemy competition came to an end.

From the alchemy trial, the technique in question also seemed to be an important alchemy technique, as the other two who had made it to the fourth test were also given a similar technique for pill refining…

Thinking about this, Xuan Hao could not help but narrow his eyes as he thought about it. From the knowledge that had been granted to him through the system, Xuan Hao had never seen a technique like the one that his disciple and the other two had used during the fourth test.

Because of this, Xuan Hao could not help thinking that the technique that his disciple had used might actually be something that would be important for a Master Realm Alchemist!

After all, he knew very well that the technique was not related to the Artisan Realm… Especially knowing that he was currently at the Peak of the Artisan Realm and had never learned said alchemy technique…

Not to mention learning it, he never even knew about its existence before witnessing his disciple use it during the fourth test!

”… Xiao Yang, 137 points, fourth place!”

Hearing Fang Shi calling out the fourth place from the platform, Xuan Hao threw the thought of the alchemy technique to the back of his mind for now before focusing back onto what was happening in the alchemy competition.

Qing Yi had yet to be called out, but that was to be expected… After all, only three people had moved on to the fourth test!

The only thing that was a bit surprising was the fact that someone who didn’t even make it through the third test had ended up getting more points than his disciple had after she completed the third test.

Perhaps that Xiao Yang was just unlucky and ended up running into dead end after dead end inside the maze of challenges…

…

”… Next up is the top three! Among all of you, these three performed the best and every single one of them even managed to pass through the third test of the alchemy trial and officially make it to the fourth test!”

At the same time that her master had turned his attention back onto Fang Shi announcing the final ranking of the alchemy competition, Qing Yi was no longer nervous after hearing the person in the fourth place being called out.

At the very least she had managed to make it to the top three!

Thinking about this, Qing Yi could not help looking up towards the spectator room that her master and the other elders were located in.

”Master…”

Murmuring this out quietly, as she nervously looked over towards her master sitting in the middle of the other elders, Qing Yi could not help but feel a bit proud of herself upon noticing her master nod his head in her direction with a look of approval on his face.

”!”

Knowing that she had managed to make her master proud with how far she had gone in the alchemy competition, Qing Yi could not help feeling a bit shy all of a sudden.

”Now, let’s start with the third place…”

However, just as she was lost in her own world thinking about her master, Fang Shi’s voice suddenly echoed out across the entire venue for all to hear. Instantly forcing Qing Yi back to reality, as she quickly forced her attention away from her master and back on to Fang Shi.

”In the third place with 179 points is… Chu Yang! Crown Prince of the Dark Sky Kingdom!”

Hearing that she did not end up in the third place, Qing Yi could not help herself from growing a bit excited before she turned to look over towards the handsome looking young man that the Fang Shi gestured towards while saying this, Qing Yi could not help widening both her eyes in disbelief.

Peak of the Core Formation Realm!

As the young man did not restrain his own aura in the slightest, Qing Yi could easily tell what realm he was currently at without any effort. Not only was the young man at the Peak of the Core Formation Realm, but he looked no more than a few years older than her!

”For the second place is… Qing Yi from the Flying Sword Sect with 181 points!? And lastly, for the first place with a grand total of 238 points is Li Yao from the Sunfire Sect!”

Before Qing Yi could recover from the shock of discovering how strong Chu Yang, the crown prince of the Dark Sky Kingdom was, Fang Shi directly moved on to the announce her as the second place and someone called Li Yao as the first place.

”We did it! We both entered the top three!”

Just as Qing Yi began wondering who this Li Yao was, she heard the young girl standing beside her excitedly exclaim as she happily began jumping around her.

”Li Yao…?”

”Yes!”

Getting a near instant confirmation, Qing Yi suddenly realized that the young girl was actually the Li Yao who had just managed to place first!

Li Yao should at least be two years younger than her, yet she had still managed to place first in the alchemy competition!

Just thinking about this, was more than enough for Qing Yi to realize just how talented Li Yao was, but she did get jealous knowing that she had been beaten by someone younger than her.

”I never thought you would be that skilled… Perhaps we can meet in the future to discuss alchemy after the alchemy competition ends and we return to our respective sect. This way we can also help each other improve!”

”Sure! It sounds fun!”

Instead of feeling jealous over being beaten by someone younger than herself, Qing Yi was far more interested in establishing a friendship with someone who was likely to be a future Artisan Alchemist! Maybe even a Master Alchemist!
