Cultivating Disciples to Breakthrough

Arriving at his pavilion, the first thing Xuan Hao did was to return to his own room at the centre of the pavilion before going over the quest that he had been given by the system back when Feng Chen had requested for him to help out with teaching the inner and outer disciples a few hours every week over the next few months.

[Sect Quest: From today and until the date set up by the Sect Master of the Flying Sword Sect is reached, you must teach the inner and outer sect disciples for at least one hour every week.]

[The reward will vary depending on how much the inner and outer disciple manages to learn.]

The quest itself was rather simple and wouldn’t be that difficult for him to complete.

The main thing that interested him about it was the fact that it had a reward that would change depending on how well he did. Similar to the limited time quest that wanted him to make a thousand interspatial rings and scatter them all over the place…

”Now that I think about it, I have made quite a bit of progress since last time, though I’m still far away when it comes to reaching the one thousand…”

[Limited Time Quest: You have found a brilliant way to recruit new potential disciples! Scatter 1000 interspatial rings around the world. The system will add a specific test to the ring that will test the potential future disciples. Interspatial Rings will only be counted towards the quest if they are scattered a certain distance away from each other. Timer will begin upon reaching the Domain Lord Realm!]

[Time: 9.9 years]

[43/1000]

[Reward: vary depending on the amount of successfully scattered interspatial rings]

Looking over at the limited time quest that he hadn’t checked up on in a while, Xuan Hao could not help but sigh to himself. Even if he had made quite a lot of progress on it, it was still far from reaching the goal of one thousand…

At the very least, he still had a little under 10 years to complete it and with his current speed, he should not have any trouble completing it in time.

The only thing worrying him was the fact that he had underestimated the amount of Moon Silver used in the production of an interspatial ring… With his current usage, it might only be able to get him to the halfway point of 500 interspatial rings before running out!

Putting the need for finding more Moon Silver for the creation of more interspatial rings aside for the moment, Xuan Hao left his room and made his way over to meet his youngest disciple Bai Ning and see how he had been doing over the past few days while he had been gone.

Curious whether he had managed to improve his cultivation realm. Not that he expected for him to increase his cultivation realm over such a short period of time.

…

”Master! Welcome back!” Hearing someone call out to him the moment he stepped out of his room; Xuan Hao watched Bai Ning run over before he respectfully greeted him with a happy smile on his face.

”Thanks, what have you been doing over the past few days?” Not able to stop himself from smiling upon seeing the happy Bai Ning come over to greet him, Xuan Hao decided to first of all ask him what he had been up to during the time he had been gone.

After all, he was a bit worried that Bai Ning would end up growing bored spending most of his time alone in the large pavilion with only Zhi Ruo around every now and then.

No matter what, Bai Ning was still only a child and might not fare too well alone. Even if cultivation was mostly something done in solitude and by oneself in a quiet place, Xuan Hao still knew that sitting down and just cultivating every day would be boring for the younger generation who had not yet grown used to it yet.

For example, the Flying Sword Sect had a special area dedicated to the disciples below the age of 15 where they would stay together and slowly grow used to the solitary lifestyle of a cultivator.

The special area was not really something like confining the younger disciples to a certain location but was more like giving them a place where they could gather together and interact and be looked after by some of the older and more experienced elders who would help guide them.

The existence of the special area and training that come with it, was invented by Elder Song during his younger days just after he became an elder, when he saw how many of the younger disciples were having a hard time adapting to the solitary lifestyle that was synonymous with cultivation.

Back when Xuan Hao had entered the sect, the special area for the younger disciples had already been around for a few dozen years and was working as intended.

From what little Xuan Hao knew about it, the special area for the younger disciples was among one of the first things Elder Song did in the Flying Sword Sect that made him famous among both disciples and elders.

”I have been visiting the Blacksmithing Hall and big sister Zhi Ruo took me to visit the food stalls located just outside the entrance of the sect! Master, did you know there were so many different kinds of food?! Before going out with big sister Zhi Ruo, I didn’t even know you could get something like deep fried scorpion-”

Listening to Bai Ning as he began explaining how he had been spending his time over the few days he had been gone, Xuan Hao felt the worry from earlier completely disappear.

Bai Ning didn’t feel lonely or bored but had instead spent the time having fun together with Zhi Ruo! Even getting to the point that he had begun respectfully addressing Zhi Ruo as big sister.

The only bad part Xuan Hao managed to pick up on, was the lack of any mention about cultivating… From a close look, Xuan Hao could also clearly feel that Bai Ning’s strength had barely increased since he left.

Well, he was way more interested in blacksmithing in the first place and mostly just spent the time getting more familiar with the sect and Zhi Ruo, so this is to be expected…

Shaking his head as he decided not to care too much about the fact that Bai Ning hadn’t spent any time on cultivating while he had been gone.

”-And then, I saw master return and rushed over!”

”You seem to have been doing quite well over the past few days.”

”Yes… I know I haven’t been focusing much on my cultivation realm, so I hope master will be able to guide me!”

”Haha, of course! Let’s get going!” Hearing the words from Bai Ning, Xuan Hao happily agreed to his disciple before they made their way over to Bai Ning’s room where Xuan Hao watched Bai Ning begin cultivating. Instructing him on how to improve in different areas from time to time, as Bai Ning’s cultivation of the Formless Mantra grew smoother.

…

”Finally, we managed to leave the Pure Heart Lake for good! Now we just have to make our way back to the sect again and we will officially have completed our first two sect missions!”

Letting out a sigh of relief as he remembered the last time they had left the Pure Heart City and was just about to be caught by a Nascent Soul Realm Expert, Chu Yang looked back towards the Pure Heart Lake that was slowly disappearing in the distance.

”Yeah… I really don’t want to come back here for the time being. No offense towards Huang Yongyu and his River Sect, but this place is really unstable… At least we got Fluffy Paws to protect us this time around! Right?”

Roar!

Hearing the disrespectful name that Qing Yi used for it, the still small winged lion roared angrily from the top of Chu Yang’s head.

”…”

At the same time, the lion demon beast that was carrying all three as it shakingly walked back towards the direction of the Flying Sword Sect shivered in fear upon hearing the winged lion’s roar.

Compared to before, the lion demon beast looked like a small, frightened animal at the moment. Completely different from before where it had even dared to eat a few human body parts in front of Chu Yang and Qing Yi without permission.

”Hm? There is someone approaching in front! Get ready in case they attack!” Suddenly discovering a large group of around twenty people dressed in completely black rushing over from the distance, Chu Yang immediately called out to get Qing Yi’s attention to make sure she was ready for the soon to be confrontation.

Whoosh~

Before long, one of the people dressed in black broke off from the rest of the group as he made his way over to meet up with them.

”Hello travellers! We are from the Ghost Howl Sect and wondered if you happened to see someone pass through here before us, he should have been leaking quite a large amount of killing intent along the way as well.”

”…”

Are they perhaps talking about the Nascent Soul Realm Expert that was crushed to death by the giant paw?

Not knowing what to say to the person in front of them that claimed to be a member of the Ghost Howl Sect, Chu Yang and Qing Yi were both momentarily stunned as they just stared at the man that had stopped them.
