The Martial Unity

Chapter 4227: Binding Reality

She had come to this particular operation to ensure that it wouldn’t go sideways.

But now she realized that they were dealing with a civilization that was so powerful that not even her presence could guarantee the success of the operation.

RUMBLE!!!

This time, the creature opposite her made the first move. The webs that bound the very fabric of space and time seemed to unravel before the black-furred homoarachnoid flung them at her, threatening to trap her in the space-time webbing.

Arastia’s blood-red glowing eyes sharpened as she leaped into the air, evading the attack. Only to find, of course, that it wasn’t so simple. The webs didn’t just move through space and time; they could form an adhesive bond with space and time itself in a phenomenon that vastly outstripped her understanding.

It created a net of reality itself that could trap her where she was.

CLICK CLICK CLICK

”You. Are. Done.” The black-furred homoarachnoid told her as her eyes lit up with a hint of enthusiasm.

Arastia’s eyes widened as the web of reality itself converged on her from all sides, threatening to capture her where she stood.

And perhaps it would have succeeded if she hadn’t had the ability to manipulate the fabric of space and time herself.

WHOOSH

At the very final moment, Arastia tore a hole through reality itself, leveraging the negatron matter that was within her body, allowing herself to escape through the net without getting trapped in it. In just the blink of an eye, she escaped, arriving several hundred meters away from the black-furred homoarachnoid.

The latter curled her expression with a hint of disdain, disappointed that she hadn’t managed to capture her target in the very first attempt like she had hoped to.

Arastia heaved a deep breath as her expression hardened. She was able to manipulate space and time herself as a sage, but whatever her opponent was doing went far beyond simply using it as a club in battle. She watched as the black-furred homoarachnoid seemed to weave more web, altering the geometry of space and time once more.

Frankly, Arastia didn’t have the scientific know-how to understand exactly what she was looking at. Even though she possessed a superhuman cognition on paper, the reality is that most of it was dedicated towards combat cognition rather than theoetical or scientific analysis, something that she wasn’t poor at.

Of course, in the Era of Expansion, the number of pathwalkers who had an understanding of advanced science and physics was a much larger proportion of the total population than it ever had been in the past.

Still, it wasn’t something that she was good at. It was an influence that the Emperor of Water had had on Pathawalker culture. To understand high principles at their very essence, not just on an intuitive level but also at a scientific and theoretical level, was what it meant to truly master high principles.

”If big brother Rui were here, he would be able to understand exactly what she was doing,’ she couldn’t help but think to herself.

Then again, she wasn’t Rui, even if she had been trained by him for many years. He had always been a force that seemed far beyond her reach, no matter how strong she grew and how fast she progressed.

”Madam President, we’re here.”

Behind her, numerous layers and groups of pathwalkers emerged, reinforcing Arastia from behind. The blood humans that were a part of the Blood Humanist Society, especially the pureblood ones, had formed their own little squads in which they had been trained for war and precisely these kinds of circumstances. The other groups formed battalions that were built around parties of five from the various freelancer pathwalkers that had been hired for this particular task.

”Get ready,” Arastia remarked with a serious expression as she watched the homoarachnoid army draw closer and closer towards them.

RUMBLE

The very ground beneath their feet began to shake as the army marched towards them in a highly unified manner. Each of their insectile legs struck the ground in unison, as if they had been trained to perfection.

And they clearly had.

That was what made Arastia feel even more uncertain about their decision to establish a presence on Planet Amadeus III. She couldn’t help but feel like, had they known their enemy was capable of being this organized with extremely powerful assets like the black-furred homoarachnoid that drew closer towards her, she might have awaited their incoming allies.

RUMBLE

The army drew closer, but at a steady pace, as if entirely patient with the actual war part. The base was not mobile, even if the pathwalkers were, and thus they were confident in destroying the permanent presence that the outsiders had had on Planet Amadeus III.

The air grew heavy as the army drew closer. The tinge of nervousness among the pathwalkers of the Blood Camp began to tingle in their nerves. Not a single one of them felt particularly confident of fighting their opponents this time.

The previous battle they had had was quite close and had been quite dangerous to them. Now, however, they found themselves dealing with the same army, but this time, they had their own powerhouse who could apparently go toe to toe with one of the most powerful pathwalkers in the world.

That was scary.

”Schoel.”

Arastia’s voice was heavy.

She never once took her eyes off the black-furred homoarachnoid that led the marching army. .

”Yes, Madam President?” He replied in a stiff, formal manner.

”You will lead the army,” she replied, her blood-red eyes sharpening. ”I will take on the creepy homoarachnoid that just defended against my attack.”

Without waiting for a response, she teleported in the blink of an eye, appearing before the powerful black-furred homoarachnoid. She bull-rushed into the homoarachnoid with enough force to shatter moons.

And yet, her opponent had foreseen it, launching a powerful spurt of web fluid to intercept the blood-laced charge. The web was the only reason the sheer force of the collision didn’t completely annihilate the army on her side.

And yet, the ensuing collision was of extraordinary power nonetheless.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
