The Martial Unity

2927  Uncharted Territory

For the first time in his life, he leveraged the full power of the VOID algorithm and the Eye of Prophecy simultaneously. Predictive models and prophecies worked side by side as he peered deeper and deeper into the future.

Further than he ever had before.

Each attack he launched, each maneuver he made, each motion he undertook.

All of them attacked the future.

They bypassed the present.

And yet, not even that was enough to reach the abyssfeeder.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!!!!!

A tremendously sharp shockwave of space emerged, aided by the most powerful neurotoxins that the abyssfeeder was able to muster, blasting Rui away.

It was within Ruiʼs anticipation.

He had sequestered the poison within his body the very moment it entered his system while his Body of Water and Anti-Spiral techniques absorbed the energy of the abyssfeederʼs attacks, allowing him to absorb even more of its energy while he redirected even more energy to Megamind to alter his perception of time even more to keep up with even higher speeds.

Without this, he would not be able to keep up with his own speed.

It was a weakness that the abyssfeeder could exploit.

RUMBLE!!!!!

The world shook as the abyssfeeder changed its very existence.

It adaptively evolved the very nature of its being as the fundamental physicality of its body shifted to a familiar crystalline substance.

The Topaz of Time.

The abyssfeeder adaptively evolved the structure of its being to integrate the new substance.

It deprived Rui of the necessary perception of time to keep up with his own body moments before the collision occurred.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!!!!!!

This time, Rui failed to react in time as his perception of time slowed down, inefficiently absorbing the energy of the attack, causing the impact to ravage his body.

His muscles tore.

His flesh rended.

For the first time in the battle, the tense balance had been disrupted.

The abyssfeeder gained the upper hand.

It immediately launched towards him, unleashing a tremendous onslaught of attacks one after another.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

It aggressively ravaged him with a flood of impacts.

Time was of the essence.

It was an opening that wouldnʼt last for more than the briefest of moments.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

His condition grew worse as it continuously ravaged him with countless blows, one after another.

Each time he created a technique to adaptively evolve to the impacts, the ayssfeeder adaptively evolved right back, preventing him from making any progress.

Elastic defenses were met with concentrated force.

Angled shifting was met with omni-directional impacts.

Even his aim sabotaging with the Scriptures of Terra was simply met with airborne maneuvering.

Even techniques involving high principles of physics were met with Transcendent-grade esoterics that allowed the abyssfeeder to overcome them.

Each solution he came up with with the Forge of Creation was countered with equal and opposite adaptive evolution. The battle grew even more one-sided as the abyssfeeder capitalized on its growing advantage with an aggressive offensive onslaught.

His condition degenerated.

His body was ravaged.

Any Martial Sage could see that the balance had completely crumbled.

His defeat was surely certain.

And yet, despite that, despite the doom that loomed, despite the ensuing sense of inevitability and the growing sense of grave severity that emerged from his fellow Martial Sages, he still had the audacity to smile.

His eyes glinted with excitement and ecstasy.

His blood boiled with thrilling battle lust.

A smile of ferocious fighting spirit.

This was what he had sought.

This was everything he had ever sought.

To be pushed to his very limits despite all his Adaptive Evolution.

And to be pushed beyond.

The air grew perilous as the abyss feeder surged forth with an astronomical speed, its body shaping into a blade with a sharpness on the quantum scale, made up a nigh indestructible substance. WHOOSH!!!!!

It flew towards Rui with a blindingly fast momentum propelled by a powerful manipulation of the very fabric of space and time.

An attack that would tear Rui to shreds.

An attack that would end the battle.

And yet a single whisper escaped Rui.

”Prophecy of the Void.”

WHOOSH

The creature crashed into an empty image.

A feint.

The abyssfeeder barely managed to get off a spatial shockwave, knocking him away just inches away before his Gu deathstrike struck the creature. And yet, Rui had foreseen the attack, absorbing it with Body of Water and Anti-Spiral before launching himself into an onslaught of attacks against the abyssfeeder.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

Each attack was more powerful than the next.

The abyssfeeder summoned the Topaz of Time once more, dilating his perception of time and trying to render him unable to absorb his opponentʼs tremendous power.

”That wonʼt work on me anymore.”

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!

Attack after attack, Rui blasted the abyssfeeder with an endless onslaught; his perception of time was sped up too much for him to even perceive what he was doing.

And yet, he was unperturbed.

Prophecy of the Void was a technique that combined the two types of foresight he had at his disposal: the predictive model of the VOID algorithm and the Eye of Prophecy. Before, he just used them simultaneously.

Now, he fused them into a mutually-enhancing single technique.

The Prophecy of the Void used the information of the VOID algorithm to enhance the acuity of the prophecy while using the data provided by the prophecy to enhance the VOID algorithm.

It was beyond just simultaneous use.

It was simultaneous symbiotic evolution that allowed each other to enhance each other with each passing second. It allowed him to peer deeper into the future than ever before.

He could see more than just a move into the future.

More than just a few moves.

He could foresee the entire battle.

He could foresee the future even beyond the battle.

Every defense he made.

Ever evasion.

Ever maneuver.

They had prepared for an entire battle in advance.

Such was the power of the Dawnbringer.

The battle escalated to yet another echelon of intensity as two forces of Adaptive Evolution reached nigh uncharted territories of power within the Sage Realm.
