Rebirth: The Courtyard Bride Is Cool and Radiant

Chapter 657: Chapter 657: You Need to Treat That Spineless Disease

He Yikui was actually taken aback, a wave of fear washing over him. If something really happened, he knew he might not be able to handle it, even if it was his own daughter.

Yet he still muttered stubbornly, ”It’s just that this damned girl is so infuriating.”

After saying this, he moved forward, trying to drag the girl back into the house.

Perhaps because he was too angry, he directly shoved Yunyi, who was protecting He Xiaomiao, aside.

Yunyi, unprepared, was pushed violently. Because He Yikui used too much force, Yunyi nearly hit the doorframe, and this action instantly infuriated her.

Granny Liu and Sister-in-law Peng both spoke up at the same time, ”He Yikui, what are you doing?”

Yunyi steadied herself by holding onto the door and saw the door that had been hit by the dustpan thrown by He Yikui just now. Turning around, she said angrily, ”You can’t even protect your own daughter, do you deserve to be a father?”

Upon hearing this, He Yikui raised his head, glaring at Yunyi with a venomous gaze, ”I advise you, as a young woman, to mind your own business less.”

After seeing the man’s expression, Yunyi replied, ”I’m definitely going to get involved in this matter.”

He Yikui had gone back to his hometown for a few days and didn’t know about Yunyi’s situation. He only heard from his youngest son upon returning that someone had moved into the previously empty house diagonally across from theirs.

Just now he had seen that this girl came out from that house. When he heard Yunyi’s words, he retorted, ”I, He Yikui, don’t have the habit of not hitting women. If you don’t want trouble, shut up.”

Though He Yikui didn’t know Yunyi’s situation, Bai Juhua did, so she quickly stepped forward to tug at He Yikui’s sleeve, ”Old He, don’t cause trouble.”

But He Yikui was on a roll, so he didn’t listen at all, pointing at Yunyi, ”Say one more word, and I’ll beat you up.”

As his words dropped, a firm voice sounded from behind him, ”Who are you calling ’old man’, and who do you intend to hit?”

Bai Juhua was so startled by this voice that she shivered. He Yikui turned around to see Vice Factory Director Huo approaching with a basket in his hand. He hadn’t realized yet, ”Vice Factory Director Huo, why are you here?”

Huo Jingrui ignored his question and asked again, ”Whose ’old man’ are you, and who were you planning to hit just now?”

He Yikui was confused and turned to Bai Juhua beside him, asking quietly, ”Why is Vice Factory Director Huo here?”

Bai Juhua whispered to explain, ”The new Doctor Chu who moved in is Vice Factory Director Huo’s fiancée.”

Upon hearing this, He Yikui immediately realized that the woman who was protecting He Xiaomiao just now was someone associated with Vice Factory Director Huo.

His face suddenly looked constipated with an awkward expression.

Huo Jingrui pushed through and walked to Yunyi’s side, ”Are you hurt?”

Yunyi shook her head and pointed at her room door, ”He broke my door.”

He Yikui had previously heard about Vice Factory Director Huo’s unusual background. Even Director Feng showed him some respect. Furthermore, after Vice Factory Director Huo came to the factory, he provided many good ideas and several mechanical blueprints, earning high regard in the factory.

He couldn’t afford to offend him greatly, so he quickly forced a smile, ”Vice Factory Director Huo, it’s all a misunderstanding, a misunderstanding. I wasn’t here the past few days and didn’t know the new girl was your fiancée.”

Standing beside Yunyi, Huo Jingrui said coldly, ”I don’t like what you just said. So if it were someone else’s fiancée, you’d feel free to bully her?”

Then he bluntly added, ”You’ve got a spine disease that needs treatment.”

This comment left He Yikui with no face to save, leaving his expression most unsightly.
