Buying My Way Through the Multiverse

The morning sun was just coming up over the high-tech RV. Since it was barely 7:00 AM, Gray stayed in bed and watched My Hero Academia on his laptop. He spent two hours relaxing while his system quietly made billions of Gold every hour in the background.

Around 9:00 AM, Gray got up and walked over to the prison cell blocks for breakfast. The kitchen smelled amazing. Thanks to their Minecraft chickens, they had a ton of fresh eggs. Carol used her master cooking skills to make all kinds of breakfast plates. She also served potatoes and carrots from their storage. Because these crops used Minecraft physics, they would never rot or go bad.

After eating, Gray went outside for his normal daily routine. He walked around to check on the Minecraft crops and animals. While he was looking at the fields, Axel and Maggie walked up to him.

”Hey, Boss,” Axel said. ”Now that we’ve made these fields bigger, we can’t do it alone anymore. We need more help out here.”

Gray nodded. ”I’ll get you more people to help.”

He walked back inside the cell blocks to find Dale. Dale had apologized for his past mistakes, so Gray decided it was time to give him a job to help him fit back in. Gray walked up, shook Dale’s hand, and used his skill transfer power. He instantly sent the Advanced Farming skill right into Dale’s mind.

Dale blinked as all the farming knowledge flooded his brain. Gray looked at him. ”Go out to the fields and help Axel and Maggie.”

Dale wanted to prove himself to the group, so he didn’t complain at all. He just grabbed his tools and went straight to work.

As Gray turned to leave, Carol saw him and walked over. ”Gray, now that the laundry room is working, we have a new problem,” she said. ”We need more clothes for everyone.”

Gray thought about it and agreed. Since it was still early, it was the perfect time for a supply run. He went and grabbed Merle, Shane, and Rick. All four of them had Deadshot’s perfect marksmanship, so fighting would be incredibly easy. Raiding stores for clothes would be a breeze, and since Gray had a 40-foot shipping container, they could store a massive amount of clothing.

They all hopped into the bulletproof INKAS Sentry truck. Gray started the engine, opened his system map, and decided to check the small town where they first met ’The Living’ group.

After a 20-minute drive, they arrived in the quiet town. Gray turned on his Wraith Sight power. He could see through solid walls for two miles, and he noticed a few walkers scattered around the streets. He turned to the other three and told them what he saw.

They moved together and easily shot the first few walkers on the street. The noise drew more out of the buildings, but the four perfect marksmen picked them off with ease. Soon, the whole town went completely quiet.

They found the first clothing store and walked inside. There was some dried blood on a few outfits, so Gray told them to leave those behind. Gray removed the 40-foot shipping container from his inventory and dropped it onto the floor. They all started grabbing clothes and throwing them inside. After an hour, the store was completely empty. Gray put the container back into his inventory, and they got back in the truck.

”Let’s find a bigger town,” Gray said. He checked his map and found one a few miles away, so they drove over.

When they got there, the place was overrun with hundreds of walkers all over the streets. In the past, this would have been a huge danger. But now? It was the easiest cleanup ever.

The four men used their infinite-ammo rifles. It was a total massacre, and they cleared the entire street in less than 20 minutes.

Merle laughed loudly. ”I live for this kind of action!”

Rick and Shane stayed quiet, keeping their guards up. Gray just shook his head at Merle. ”Don’t let your guard down.”

They found a huge department store full of clothes, shoes, and everything the group needed. Gray found a big open space inside and put the shipping container down there so they wouldn’t have to carry things outside. Gray also bought a roll of big trash bags from the shop. They put the clothes into the bags first to make it easier to unload later at the prison.

It took them three hours to clean out the whole store. The shipping container was more than halfway full, and Gray decided that was enough. If they needed more later, they could raid a bigger city. With their firepower and infinite ammo, they could clear out all of Atlanta if they wanted to.

Gray put the shipping container back into his inventory, and they started walking back to the truck. On the way, they saw a lone walker stumble out.

Merle raised his gun. ”I got it.”

”Hold on,” Gray said, stopping him. ”I want to try out a new weapon.”

Gray pulled his purple Phasesaber out of his inventory. His Advanced Lightsaber Combat Skills kicked in automatically. The sword ignited with a bright purple glow.

He walked right up to the walker. With two smooth swings, he chopped off both of its arms. The energy blade cut through bone like butter. The best part was that the laser heat instantly burned the wounds closed. No blood sprayed out, so Gray didn’t get dirty at all.

Satisfied, Gray ended it quickly. He thrust the glowing blade straight into the walker’s head, dropping it to the ground. He turned off the saber and put it away.

Merle whistled loudly at the glowing sword. ”Man, I want one of those!”

Gray got into the driver’s seat of the INKAS Sentry and looked back at him. ”Play nice, and maybe you’ll get one for Christmas.”

The INKAS Sentry rolled back through the prison gates around 2:00 PM. Gray drove into the center of the courtyard and parked. He climbed out and instantly summoned the 40-foot shipping container from his inventory, dropping it right onto the pavement with a loud thud.

”Everyone, come out and help unload!” Gray called out to the group.

Within minutes, the courtyard was full of life. Carol, Glenn, Maggie, and the rest of the group gathered around. Gray opened the heavy metal doors, revealing hundreds of trash bags stuffed with brand-new clothes and shoes. Everyone started working together, grabbing bags and carrying them toward the laundry facility with bright smiles.

Watching everyone cooperate suddenly reminded Gray of something. He walked over to Rick, who was carrying a heavy bag of winter coats.

”What happened to the walkie-talkie radio you were using?” Gray asked.

Rick stopped, looking a bit surprised by the question. ”It stopped working right around the time we arrived at Hershel’s farm,” Rick explained, ”It suddenly stopped working. Why?”

”I see,” Gray said, nodding slowly. Then he asked, ”What about Morgan?”

Rick’s eyes widened as he finally realized what Gray was hinting at. He had promised to broadcast to Morgan every single morning, but the broken radio had cut off all contact.

”If you want, you can take one of the bulletproof trucks,” Gray offered. ”Go check on him. Maybe he never moved towns and is still staying in your old hometown.”

Rick looked at the watch on his wrist, it was just about 2:15 PM. He didn’t want to waste any time. ”I’m going,” Rick said.

Daryl, who had been sitting nearby on a crate cleaning his crossbow, stood up and stretched. ”I need to move my legs anyway. I’m going with him.”

They walked over to the INKAS Huron APC. After topping off the heavy truck’s tank with fresh diesel fuel, Rick and Daryl started the engine and drove out of the prison gates, heading toward King County.

Gray walked back toward the courtyard and found Merle leaning against a railing, watching the truck leave. ”Why didn’t you go with them?” Gray asked, raising an eyebrow.

Merle snorted and spat on the ground. ”Are you kidding, kid? The last time I went anywhere with Officer Friendly, they left my ass handcuffed on a hot Atlanta rooftop. I ain’t about to repeat that shit again.”

”Fair enough.” Gray gave a slight nod and walked away.

Over the next few hours, Gray toured the entire prison property. He wasn’t just walking aimlessly, he was looking for the absolute best layout to start digging downward. Once 2:00 AM hit and he bought his Minecrafter Physiology, he planned to excavate a massive subterranean bunker, and he needed the perfect starting point.

As he walked, Gray kept his Wraith Sight constantly active. His vision pierced through the trees, hills, and solid walls for two miles, scanning for any hidden Woodbury spies or hostiles.

Suddenly, his glowing vision caught something moving fast along the main approach road. Looking up through the distant treeline, he spotted a single person riding a motorcycle directly toward the prison.

Gray didn’t hesitate. He instantly activated his mid-range teleportation. With a sharp, sudden bamf, he shifted instantly across the distance, appearing right inside the walls and rushing up the stairs of the main guard tower.

”Merle!” Gray yelled down across the yard. ”Get everyone who can fight out here right now!”

Merle’s playful attitude vanished in a second. He grabbed his M16, barking orders to Shane, T-Dog, and Oscar, who all rushed to the fences with their weapons raised.

Down the road, the roar of the motorcycle engine grew louder. Once the bike cleared the thick stand of trees, it began to slow down. The rider rolled up carefully, finally coming to a complete stop right outside the prison’s main stone gate.

The motorcycle shut off. The courtyard went totally quiet. Gray stood up on the guard tower. He turned on his Sin Vision to check the rider. Red letters floated over the man’s body to show his past crimes. The man was completely clean. He had never killed an innocent person. He was just a regular Woodbury guard.

Down at the gate, the guard looked up. Merle, Shane, and the other fighters pointed their guns right at him. The guard got very nervous. His hands started shaking on the handlebars. He swallowed hard and finally spoke.

”The Governor sent me!” the guard yelled. ”He wants a meeting with you, Gray! He wants to ask for a truce!”

Gray stood perfectly still. ”When?” He asked.

”He says you can choose the time and day!” the guard said fast. He kept his hands flat so everyone could see them. ”He wants to show good faith!”

Gray thought about it for a few minutes. He knew this was probably a trap. But it did not matter if the Governor tried anything. Gray had billions of Gold ticking up every hour. He was getting his god-tier Minecrafter Physiology at midnight. Gray actually hoped the Governor would do something stupid. Then he could just kill him right there.

Gray looked down at the guard. ”Meet in three days,” Gray said.

The guard nodded. ”Where?”

Gray walked into the tower and pulled out a map. He drew a big circle around a building halfway between the prison and Woodbury. He threw the map down. It landed right in the guard’s lap.

”Give that to him,” Gray said. ”And tell him one more thing. Do not come back to this prison. Next time, you won’t get this close.”

The guard was terrified. He put the map in his pocket and nodded. ”Understood.”

He started his motorcycle and drove away fast into the trees.

Merle lowered his gun. ”Three days, kid? You think he will play nice?”

”It doesn’t matter,” Gray said and turned to walk down the stairs.

The heavy INKAS Huron truck rolled into Rick and Daryl’s old hometown in late afternoon. Rick parked the truck and stepped out onto the quiet streets. He looked around carefully as a few walkers noticed him and began shuffling over. Rick raised his silver M16 and easily shot them down. It took about 15 minutes for the walkers to stop appearing.

What Rick did not notice was someone watching him from a nearby rooftop. The mysterious figure stayed low, observing him closely.

Once Rick stopped moving and scanned the cleared street, the person on the rooftop let out a sharp whistle. Rick quickly looked up, his eyes widening as he recognized his old friend, Morgan.

Morgan looked down at him from the roof. ”What are you doing back here, Rick?” he asked.

Rick smiled up at him. ”We found a safe place nearby and settled in there. We have enough space for more people. You and Duane can come with us.”

Morgan remained quiet, thinking for a moment. He studied Rick’s gear, noticing the giant military bulletproof truck parked behind him. ”Is it truly safe, Rick?” Morgan asked seriously.

”Yes,” Rick replied, nodding. ”The whole place is surrounded by high, thick stone walls. It’s probably the best place for you right now.”

Morgan glanced at the truck again. ”Okay,” he said, ”but I will need help gathering all my belongings.”

”We can help with that,” Rick assured him.

They walked over to Morgan’s building. As they opened the door, Morgan turned to them. ”Be careful. Watch your step. I installed booby traps all around this place.”

Rick looked around the room but didn’t see Morgan’s son anywhere, causing a sudden spike of worry. ”Where’s Duane?” Rick asked quickly.

Morgan chuckled at the panicked look on Rick’s face. ”Nothing happened to him, Rick. Don’t worry. He’s just hidden away. We heard all your gunshots earlier, so I told him to hide until I knew who it was.”

Rick let out a huge sigh of relief. ”That’s good. That’s really good.”

Duane came out of hiding, and they began packing everything up. It took them quite a while to gather all of Morgan’s belongings. He had been hoarding a considerable number of guns, weapons, and boxes of ammo over the past few weeks. Daryl walked back outside, started the truck, and backed it up right to the door.

Together, the three men and the boy loaded the heavy crates and bags into the back of the Huron. Once everything was packed tightly inside the armored truck, everyone climbed into the cab, and they drove out of town, heading straight back toward the prison.
