Death Game: Starting as a Trickster, Pretending to Be a God

Chapter 747: Humans and Deer

During the standoff between Prisoner and Nicholas, the number of tornadoes on the field was steadily increasing.

The fierce wind messed up Old Zhou’s hair and loose athletic pants, and also ruffled the reindeer’s fur.

Neither side spoke; they simply stared at each other, waiting for the ”opportune moment” to arrive.

And then...

Two tornadoes touched the trembling metal plates at the edge of the arena, their power slightly amplified. At the same time, their paths changed, beginning to move toward the space between the reindeer and Prisoner.

Soon, the two tornadoes collided head-on—and just as the host, Earl, had explained, their winds didn’t cancel each other out, weaken, or dissipate. Instead, they quickly merged into one, forming an even larger storm!

In that instant of fusion, the line of sight between Old Zhou and the reindeer was suddenly blocked by the surging storm.

But in both sides’ eyes...

Naturally, this was also the perfect time to strike!

Although the two parties on the field couldn’t see clearly, the spectators in the stands had a perfect view.

Old Zhou and the eight reindeer simultaneously charged into the tornado.

”What are they going to do?!”

Seagull asked in shock.

”Crossing the storm, using the moment when sight and sound are blocked to launch a surprise attack on each other,” Li Hua said, pushing up his glasses before continuing. ”But both sides made the same judgment, which means the situation will exceed both their expectations at once.”

On the other side of the stands, Xiaoyun narrowed her eyes. ”Ah, so these eight reindeer and Old Zhou had exactly the same idea... This is going to be interesting!”

Comedian also nodded. ”I’m afraid their battlefield will be inside that storm.”

And just as the experts in the stands had judged...

”Boom!”

Old Zhou and the eight reindeer plunged into the storm, which was now nearly ten meters wide—but none of them came out.

Both sides had encountered each other... in the heart of the storm!

This tornado wasn’t an ordinary whirlwind; it had been filled with a massive amount of sand and dust from the start, so visibility was practically nonexistent.

The raging wind and sand isolated everything inside and out, blurring both sound and sight to the extreme.

Even with every effort to look and listen, all one could catch were fleeting flashes of electric light and a few entangled figures, along with faint low growls and roars mixed into the howling wind.

The spectators watched this scene with anxious tension.

”Gambler, who do you think will win?”

Loquat Candy asked Li Hua, but Li Hua only shook his head.

”I don’t know. The odds are still fluctuating... Although this event has few conditions, every single one is full of uncertainty. I can’t calculate it.”

Grandmaster spoke up instead. ”I think Nicholas’s reindeer might be at a disadvantage.”

”May I ask, Comrade Grandmaster, how can you tell?”

Li Hua turned to look at Grandmaster, immediately asking the question.

This was also on behalf of his equally anxious ”Order” colleagues.

Grandmaster gazed at the flickering, interweaving figures within the tornado. ”It’s simple. Although these eight reindeer’s power is roughly on par with that Prisoner’s, and their lack of skill can be compensated by numbers and coordinated teamwork, they are, after all, just a part of Nicholas’s [Exclusive Item]...”

”Prisoner still has trump cards and spare power to use, but those reindeer won’t.”

And as Grandmaster’s words fell!

”Whoosh!”

Prisoner burst out from inside the tornado again, wrestling a sturdy reindeer in his arms!

Both man and beast were covered in crimson blood. The reindeer’s antlers had been snapped off, and blood stained its mouth and nose.

Old Zhou’s head was dripping with gushing blood, and his dual cross-shaped crutches were nowhere to be seen.

”Thud!”

The two slammed heavily onto the arena floor. Old Zhou pressed down on the reindeer’s head, clenched his fist, and rained blow after blow, knocking the reindeer completely unconscious.

Looking at the foaming, unconscious reindeer, Old Zhou stood up and turned his gaze to Nicholas.

”Old man, your deer are strong—but still lacking!”

He said in a low voice, and Nicholas’s expression turned serious.

”What about the other seven?”

Old Zhou looked up at the sky.

Soon, from the top of the tornado, the bodies of seven massive reindeer were hurled out.

Then, these reindeer crashed ”thump, thump” to the ground. Each one had its antlers broken, its fur covered in blood and grime, all completely unconscious and devoid of awareness.

Nicholas looked at the reindeer, and a flicker of pain passed across his round face.

”You’ve suffered, my children... you’ve suffered.”

”I didn’t expect you to be so strong. I underestimated you.”

Old Zhou didn’t taunt him; he simply wiped the blood that was about to drip into his eyes.

”I was indeed the better fighter... but your deer can be proud of themselves. They forced me to use my fully-powered ʼWar Drum Battle Methodʼ to take them down.”

”These deer are all worthy opponents.”

Nicholas said nothing, only nodded slightly, and took out a harp.

”Twang-thrum-boom—”

The harp rang softly, and a few cyan light clusters flew out, sinking into the reindeer’s bodies.

The pained, contorted expressions on their unconscious faces eased considerably as they were covered in cyan light.

”You’re healing them?”

Old Zhou was surprised.

”Of course. But don’t worry, these reindeer can no longer threaten you. They shouldn’t be able to recover in this match... My ʼChristmas Elvesʼ don’t heal that fast.”

As Nicholas spoke, Old Zhou frowned at the harp entwined with tree vines in his hands.

”That shouldn’t be the ʼChristmas Elves,ʼ right? Thatʼs ʼForest’s Healingʼ from the [Harp of Nature’s Voice]. I’ve seen it in Night Valley.”

”No. The green, flying little lights are the Christmas Elves.”

Nicholas insisted stubbornly.

Old Zhou didn’t argue. ”Say whatever you want.”

But soon he noticed another strange thing—the reindeer on the ground had suddenly all disappeared.

This left Old Zhou dumbfounded.

Because Nicholas’s sleigh and gift sack were still right there.

”How can you store just part of your [Exclusive Item] separately?”

”Hehe, don’t pry into the details of the [Flying Sleigh],” Nicholas said, looking at Old Zhou. ”Anyway—I’m going to transform again.”

As Nicholas spoke, the wooden sleigh beneath his feet suddenly began to split along its seams, turning into strips of wood.

Seeing this bizarre transformation of the sleigh, Old Zhou naturally wasn’t about to sit back and let him change forms. He charged straight at Nicholas.

”Old man... time for you to sleep!”

Old Zhou growled, throwing a straight punch that tore through the air like a heavy cannonball, aimed straight at Nicholas’s face.

”Boom!”

But that solid punch was blocked by Nicholas’s forearms crossed in front of him!

”Snap!”

The shockwave from the punch blasted Nicholas’s red pajama-like clothes into shreds, and one black pouch after another fell off his body as the fabric tore.

Then, the bare upper body of this kind-looking, white-bearded old man was revealed.

And contrary to the imagined frail, fat body...

”Hohoho, young man... although you’ve trained well...”

His round physique wasn’t flabby at all; on the contrary, it was extremely firm.

Bronze skin outlined faint muscle contours, and a large patch of cyan-green tattoos covered his back.

”I’m not bad either!”

If Old Zhou had the classic inverted-triangle physique—broad shoulders and a narrow waist, aesthetically pleasing—

Then Nicholas had the body of a powerlifter bursting with strength—his body fat wasn’t low, but his muscle mass was equally terrifying.

And the clumsiness he had shown before was simply because... he was carrying too much weight!

Those black pouches hit the ground with a dull thud—this was also why Nicholas had remained unmoving in the storm.

Watching this scene, Old Zhou revealed an excited fervor.

”Good! Good! Good!”

”I didn’t expect you to be even stronger than your deer—then let’s fight!”
