Martial Cultivator

“I originally said I would make a trip to Infatuation Daoist Temple and have that punk Yun Jianyue take care of this for me, but that guy went into seclusion. What a hassle.”

Chen Chao was somewhat irritated and scratched his head. He had originally intended to have Yun Jianyue deal with the demon race spies within Great Liang, but now that he had gone into seclusion, he would probably have to find someone else?

Song Lian looked at Chen Chao, his expression strange, and suddenly said, “I have a little piece of gossip about Yun Jianyue. Do you want to hear it?”

Chen Chao asked, “How little?”

Song Lian thought for a moment, then put it another way. “If it were in the historical records, it would probably be called unofficial[wild] history.”

Chen Chao frowned. “How unofficial?”

Song Lian said, “I heard that before Yun Jianyue went into seclusion, he spent a night of passion with Ye Zhihua, and Ye Zhihua is now pregnant.”

Chen Chao sucked in a cold breath. “I didn’t expect it to be that unofficial[wild].”

Song Lian sighed and said softly, “Actually, it can no longer be considered a piece of gossip, because someone personally saw Ye Zhihua buy a basket of chili peppers in the small town at the foot of Infatuation Daoist Temple.”

Chen Chao asked, “What kind of evidence is that?”

Song Lian said solemnly, “Sour means a boy, spicy means a girl. From this, it can be seen that Ye Zhihua is carrying a daughter.”

Chen Chao frowned, both amused and exasperated. “What does any of this have to do with anything?”

Song Lian said calmly, “The wisdom of our ancestors.”

Chen Chao fell into silence.

Song Lian patted Chen Chao on the shoulder sympathetically and consoled him, “Actually, it’s nothing. It was bound to happen sooner or later.”

The corner of Chen Chao’s mouth twitched, his voice low. “But that bastard is a fucking daoist!”

Song Lian sighed. “Fortunately, he isn’t a monk.”

Chen Chao raised his head and looked at Song Lian, unable to say a word.

......

......

A piece of news had recently spread like wildfire throughout Infatuation Daoist Temple, shocking everyone from top to bottom.

Ye Zhihua, once one of the Twin Pillars of Daoism, was now pregnant. As for who the child’s father was, there was probably no one throughout Infatuation Daoist Temple who would have another name pop into their mind.

At first, no one had taken the news seriously, but later, when they discovered that Senior Sister Ye’s abdomen was becoming increasingly rounded, no one doubted the matter anymore.

“Senior Sister and Senior Brother Temple Master’s cultivation talents were already astonishing. I’m afraid the little junior nephew who will be born will become a daoist sage born to cultivate the Dao in the history of Daoism!”

It had to be known that although geniuses had naturally appeared more than once throughout the history of Daoism, it was difficult to find anyone who had reached Yun Jianyue’s level. More importantly, even when geniuses of a similar caliber had appeared, they had not left behind descendants.

In the eyes of cultivators, cultivation was an individual’s affair. Even if they had dao companions, they generally would not leave behind descendants. At most, in their later years, they would seek out a disciple with decent talent and impart everything they had cultivated to them.

As a result, the bloodlines of many geniuses had failed to be passed down.

Previously, everyone had paid little attention to this, but now, with that pair of uncle and nephew from the Great Liang Dynasty appearing one after another, it would also make cultivators reflect on the implications of this.

“Indeed. Back then, Senior Sister and Senior Brother were called the Twin Pillars of Daoism, their talents evenly matched. Now Senior Brother is already a great daoist sage at such a young age. If he truly has a child, then after growing up over the next few years, he should be invincible in the world of that generation.”

“I am rather looking forward to it. I just don’t know whether the child in Senior Sister’s belly is a boy or a girl.”

“Senior Sister bought a basket of chili peppers at the foot of the mountain some time ago. It must be a girl.”

”How so?”

“Sour for a boy, spicy for a girl.”

“Which classic says that?”

......

......

Behind the mountain, in front of the cave dwelling where Yun Jianyue lived, Ye Zhihua sat there.

Footsteps sounded from behind her, and then a young daoist in a dark red daoist robe walked out and sat down beside her.

Footsteps sounded from behind her, and then a young daoist in a dark red daoist robe walked out and sat down beside her.

Yun Jianyue looked at the woman’s belly beside him and shook his head. “I just can’t settle my mind. I wanted to see her.”

Ye Zhihua glanced at Yun Jianyue and said softly, “You have someone on your mind now.”

Yun Jianyue smiled. “I always have, but for her, it’s more a matter of anticipation.”

Ye Zhihua placed a hand over her lower abdomen and said, “She may become the first female temple master in the history of the Infatuation Daoist Temple.”

Yun Jianyue frowned. “How can you tell?”

Ye Zhihua said, “Could it be that when you say ‘her,’ you don’t mean a daughter?” [he/her pronouns sound the same]

Yun Jianyue was somewhat embarrassed. “It’s just a beautiful hope.”

Ye Zhihua thought for a moment, then said with a slight blush, “I’ve been rather fond of spicy food lately.”

Yun Jianyue suddenly understood and nodded. “So that’s what it was.”

Ye Zhihua changed the subject. “Someone from the imperial court came once. They said Chen Chao wanted to ask you to handle something. You were in seclusion, so I didn’t agree to it.”

Yun Jianyue asked, “What is it?”

“Some demons crossed the Northern Frontier Great Wall. They are now inside Great Liang’s borders, and from time to time, some information about Great Liang’s movements is being sent back. He wants you to help eliminate them.”

Ye Zhihua remained expressionless as she spoke about the matter.

Yun Jianyue nodded. “All right. I’ll take care of it immediately. Although I don’t understand warfare, I know very well that if one side knows the other side’s situation clearly, then the other side will be extremely passive.”

“This matter will still trouble Senior Sister.”

Yun Jianyue smiled. “I believe Senior Sister will handle it well.”

Ye Zhihua rarely teased him. “Why don’t you just let me be the temple master? Then you won’t be needed anymore.”

Yun Jianyue laughed. “Where in this world is there a mother who fights her own daughter for something?”

At this point, Yun Jianyue suddenly became energetic and laughed to himself. “I have to write a letter to that guy!”

......

......

After finishing their tea, Song Lian happened to receive a transmission, and his expression was still extremely strange.

Chen Chao had noticed it as well and casually asked, “What, that fellow Yun Jianyue came out of seclusion?”

Within Qingshan Prefecture, news sent from Infatuation Daoist Temple could naturally reach this place very quickly.

Song Lian nodded and said, “He agreed to this matter. He said he would do his utmost to help.”

Chen Chao nodded and smiled. “As expected of someone I trust so much.”

”But...”

Song Lian wanted to speak but swallowed his words back.

Chen Chao raised an eyebrow. “But what?”

At this moment, the look in Song Lian’s eyes as he looked at Chen Chao was filled with pity.

He thought for a while before finally saying softly, “He said he’s about to become a father, and told you to keep it up. If those few manuals he gave you before aren’t enough, he’ll pick out some more for you.”

Manuals? What manuals? Song Lian gave Chen Chao a look that said: I know, but I won’t tell anyone else.

Chen Chao said nothing, but the veins on his forehead bulged.

At this moment, the killing intent of this young Lord Warden Commander was far heavier than it had been when he encountered Xu Wei earlier.
