Martial Cultivator

Glaze Temple was located among the mountains outside of Yingchun Commandery. This temple had not been established for long, having existed for no more than half a decade.

Many cultivators from outside the area did not even know how the Glaze Temple came into existence. They only knew that when the temple appeared thirty years ago, the Temple Master was already a Nepenthe powerhouse.

As long as a sect had a Nepenthe powerhouse, it naturally became a force not to be underestimated. Later, many foreign sects sent people to inquire about Glaze Temple, but none gained any information. They only vaguely knew that this temple had some connection to the Infatuation Daoist Temple, the leader of Daoism. Since there was this connection, the foreign sects were no longer surprised by the rise of the Glaze Temple.

On this night, the Glaze Temple was eerily quiet.

Suddenly, two figures plummeted from the high sky outside the temple gate, startling the guards at the gate.

The two guards hurriedly rushed to the gate, and when they saw the two figures lying on the mountain path, barely clinging to life, they were shocked. “Junior Brother Wei, Junior Brother Liu, what happened?!”

One of them was about to speak when he suddenly spat out a mouthful of blood, staining his clothes. The guard quickly pulled out a pill and shoved it into his mouth, then circulated his qi to help dissolve the medicine’s effect.

The other person also had blood dripping from the corner of his mouth, but quickly spoke, his voice urgent. “Something major... happened at Yingchun Commandery... The Great Liang sent people... It’s the Lord Warden Commander Chen Chao...”

Before he could finish his words, his head tilted, and he stopped breathing.

“Junior Brother Liu’s injuries are too severe...”

The two guards exchanged a glance, their expressions ugly.

“We fought our way out of the encirclement just to report to the Temple Master, so that the Temple Master could make a decision as soon as possible...”

After eating the pill, Junior Brother Wei’s complexion improved somewhat, and he finally spoke. His eyes were full of worry. “It looks like the Great Liang is well-prepared this time, and even that Lord Warden Commander has personally taken action.”

……

……

The news quickly reached the mountain.

Soon, a daoist from the mountain arrived at the Devil Sealing Platform, where the Temple Master, the Daoist Qian Ji, usually conducted his secluded cultivation. Normally, they would not dare disturb this daoist sage’s quiet cultivation, but in this urgent moment, they had no choice but to act.

A daoist in yellow robes hurried to the Devil Sealing Platform, looked at the Thousand Mechanism True Person meditating in the distance, and immediately knelt on the ground. “Temple Master, it’s urgent! Something has happened in Yingchun Commandery!”

Daoist Qian Ji remained silent for a long time. The yellow-robed daoist was filled with anxiety but did not dare to speak again. Sweat dripped from his forehead, and his back had already become soaked.

After a long pause, an indifferent voice finally sounded out, “Speak.”

The yellow-robed daoist did not hesitate and immediately recounted everything that had happened. “The Great Liang should have come prepared this time. That Lord Warden Commander himself has come.”

Daoist Qian Ji spoke indifferently: “A Nepenthe martial artist, what’s there to fear? He’s gone to Yingchun Commandery, does he dare to come to our Glaze Temple?”

“Temple Master, they know everything we’ve done. Who knows if they’ll gather powerhouses to take action? That young Lord Warden Commander has always been iron-fisted. He even killed those from the Infatuation Daoist Temple previously...”

The yellow-robed daoist looked at Daoist Qian Ji and said sincerely, “Temple Master, no matter what, you must make a decision now!”

Daoist Qian Ji’s face that was devoid of any emotion, still showed no change in emotion. However, he stood up from the Devil Sealing Platform and said with narrowed eyes, “Since he dares to come, then I will go and kill him. Once he’s dead, the Temple Master will surely be satisfied.”

The ”Temple Master” he referred to was, of course, the current Temple Master of the Infatuation Daoist Temple, Daoist Yin Li.

The yellow-robed daoist asked worriedly, “Temple Master, could it be a trap? A mere Nepenthe martial artist like him dares to come, he wouldn’t be without powerhouses by his side, right?”

”How many powerhouses at the end of Nepenthe does the Great Liang have? How many can be mobilized right now? That young man is just relying on his reckless bravery. If he wasn’t foolish, why would he have dared to kill Zhen Ye back then?”

Daoist Qian Ji said indifferently “This reckless young man is only fortunate because he’s born well and had a bit of luck. Without these things, he would have been killed long ago. But his luck has run out. Now that he has met me, he’s doomed.”

The yellow-robed daoist opened his mouth, wanting to say something. But at this moment, he really could not say anything. He knew very well the temper of his temple master. Once a decision was made, he would naturally not be swayed by anyone.

“I’ll go summon the sect members, and accompany Temple Master,” the yellow-robed daoist quickly said.

“No need. This eminent self can handle it alone. A puny little Nepenthe martial artist, a single strike and he’s dead. You all stay on the mountain and guard properly.”

After saying this, Daoist Qian Ji gathered his black robe, different from other daoist cultivators, and transformed into a streak of black light, heading towards Yingchun Commandery.

The yellow-robed daoist withdrew his gaze from Daoist Qian Ji’s disappearing figure and looked towards the Devil Sealing Platform, a bitter smile appearing at the corner of his mouth.

Devil Sealing Platform, such a grand name for the orthodox path, yet on this mountain, was there a single person cultivating the orthodox path?

For some reason, despite tonight seeming like everything would be resolved, the yellow-robed daoist could not shake the feeling of unease, constantly feeling a sense of dread.

After thinking for a while, the yellow-robed daoist still decided to send a message to the Infatuation Daoist Temple, informing that Infatuation Daoist Temple Master.

Only then would his mind be at ease.

……

……

Wei Changming had already led his people to the mountains outside the Glaze Temple. However, upon arriving, he simply remained still, waiting for the signal mentioned by Chen Chao.

Although that Lord Warden Commander had not clarified what the signal would be, since it had been mentioned, he was certain that once the signal came, he would be able to sense it.

However, the wait had been a bit long, and even he could not help but feel a little impatient.

But then he could not help but mock himself a little. After all these years of waiting, how could he not wait a little longer for this brief time?

……

……

At the foot of Glaze Temple, a young sword immortal stood there, looking exhausted. Watching the black streak of light above leave, he finally smiled and said, ”Kid, pray for your own fortune. Hang in there a little longer; otherwise, Your Father can’t save you.”

After saying this, the young sword immortal took a deep breath and silently chanted.

A sheathed flying sword appeared in front of him, hovering in mid-air.

The young sword immortal was none other than the sword immortal Yu Xiyi, who had been killing demons everywhere.

The young sword immortal pressed his finger on the sword hilt. The flying sword, Wild Grass, immediately unsheathed. This time, Yu Xiyi did not let the sword fly off on its own. Instead, he reached out to grasp the hilt, lightly flicking his finger against the sword body.

A clear and crisp sound of sword ringing spread across the entire Glaze Temple.

Then Yu Xiyi casually slashed with the sword.

A green sword light suddenly erupted, starting from the foot of the mountain, sweeping past the mountain gate, instantly shattering the mountain pass gates, and then continuing forward.

The sword light grew more intense, and the night shone brightly at this moment!

At this moment, the entire Glaze Temple could see the sword light clearly.

Countless daoists in the Glaze Temple became dazed upon seeing that sword light. The overwhelming sword intent and terrifying sword light, was a great sword immortal truly coming here?!

Within the Glaze Temple, one daoist suddenly shouted, ”Where did this madman come from, daring to show such disrespect to the Glaze Temple?!”

As the voice sounded, a figure instantly surged into the sky, bringing with it a surging aura, intending to shatter the sword light.

Without a doubt, this was also a Nepenthe Realm powerhouse.

However, as soon as he appeared in mid-air, that terrifying sword light suddenly descended in that moment, clashing with that powerhouse from the Glaze Temple.

In a brief moment, the powerhouse’s aura and the sword light clashed together. But this scene did not last long. The sword light suddenly pressed down, almost unreasonably, as countless frenzied sword intents descended.

The Nepenthe powerhouse was immediately struck down by the sword light.

At this point, everyone looked up and saw a young sword immortal in green robes, who had appeared in the sky at some point. Holding a sword in his hand, he looked down at the Glaze Temple and said with a smile, ”Who wants to die first?!”

Meanwhile, Wei Changming who had been lying in ambush outside Glaze Temple immediately understood this was the signal the Lord Warden Commander had mentioned. Without hesitation, he led his men and charged up the mountain.

The sudden battle cries startled the daoists of the Glaze Temple, leaving them stunned. For the past half-century, since the founding of the Glaze Temple, they had never experienced anything like this. They could never have imagined that someone would dare to charge up to their sect with such great fanfare.

At this moment, the young sword immortal floating in the air looked down upon the world. The sword qi constantly falling reminded them that this was no dream, it was a real story unfolding before their eyes.

Meanwhile, Yu Xiyi who was in midair holding his sword, sensed a few powerful auras from within Glaze Temple, but he did not care much.

Just a few Nepenthes.

If he wanted to kill them, it was nothing.

These were not the kind of Nepenthe who had relied on themselves, taking painstaking steps to reach their level, so what was difficult about killing them?

Moreover, he was a sword immortal, one of the sword immortals with the greatest killing power in the world!

It would just take some time.

Yu Xiyi smiled slightly. ”Chen Chao, disregarding everything else, you only get an hour. If you can’t last an hour, then I’ll have no choice but to go collect your corpse.”

……

……

On the city wall of Yingchun Cloud Mud, Chen Chao sat cross-legged with his eyes closed. His saber, Cloud Mud, had already been taken off and was now resting on his lap.

He adjusted his breathing, white mist continuously spilling from his mouth and nose, enveloping his entire face.

It was unclear how much time passed, but eventually, all the white mist was absorbed into his body. Chen Chao’s face reappeared in the world, and only then did he slowly open his eyes.

Not far away, a powerful aura was steadily approaching.

To the naked eye, it was a streak of black light.

Chen Chao stood up, narrowed his eyes, and looked into the distance.

Then, without warning, he shot up into the air, colliding directly with the approaching streak of black light.

The Glaze Temple Master?

The end of Nepenthe, a great daoist sage in name?

So what?
