Martial Cultivator

The thirty thousand miles of desolate north, the terrifying aura continued to spread, relentlessly and swiftly, soon covering the entire desolate north.

On the banks of the Onan River.

The demon princess, Autumn, stood by the riverbank, watching the spreading terrifying aura ahead. Her expression grew increasingly solemn.

The High Priest’s face was even more filled with deep concern.

Previously, the entire demon race had high hopes for this great battle. They knew that the Great Liang Emperor had been heavily injured after a battle with other human powerhouses before coming to the desolate north, and now seemed to be the perfect opportunity to eliminate him. But no one had expected that when the two emperors finally met, the Great Liang Emperor’s overwhelming combat power would far exceed anyone’s expectations.

”With His Majesty’s cultivation realm, he actually still has to put on such a grand display. It seems we all underestimated this human emperor. He’s probably already taken several steps forward.”

The High Priest was very worried.

Autumn said, ”To make the thirty thousand miles of desolate north the battlefield, I’m afraid that even Royal Father never anticipated this.”

The Demon Emperor possessed overwhelming power, so his incredible aura was unsurprising. However, if there were no worthy opponent, he would never reveal such power. Now, with the entire desolate north turned into a battlefield, it could only mean one thing: the combat power displayed by the Great Liang Emperor was forcing the Demon Emperor to treat him with utmost caution.

The High Priest said softly, ”His Majesty cannot afford to fail. If anything happens, the demon race will likely fall into chaos immediately.”

Autumn replied calmly, ”I know that. But at this point, no one can enter the desolate north anymore. Even if there were more back-up plans, it would be useless. This battle is now between Royal Father and that human monarch alone.”

The affairs of the world, while complicated, were actually quite simple. Just like now, all the schemes and preparations have dissipated, leaving only the two of them in the end.

The High Priest sighed and said, “I hope His Majesty can win.”

Autumn did not speak, only drifting away from the riverbank.

Sensing the lingering aura left by this demon princess, the High Priest widened his eyes. He clearly felt a strange aura from Autumn, and that aura could only mean one thing.

It meant that this demon princess had stepped into the Nepenthe Realm and had become a great demon...

Such a young great demon.

The High Priest could not help but feel vicissitudes of emotion. She was of His Majesty’s bloodline after all, so such strength was understandable.

……

Deep in the desolate north, a scene of devastation.

This plain which was once the graveyard for countless humans and demons was now in the best season of the year. The grass was lush, the fields teeming with life. But at this moment, for thousands of miles, there was not a trace of greenery. Instead, it was a barren wasteland of scorched earth.

Various scattered auras ravaged the land, and terrifying energies spread across the area.

The air did not carry the fragrance of wild grasses, but rather the terrifying aura emitted by the two monarchs, covering the entire desolate north and forming a massive killing formation.

This was not something the two monarchs did intentionally; it was a natural emanation. Under such terrifying auras, any living being trying to approach these two monarchs would find it extremely difficult.

As the two continued to battle, those terrifying energies spread even further, creating eerie entanglements in the distance. As a result, the entire desolate north became a forbidden land.

The Demon Emperor stood atop a mountain peak, glancing at the plain before him. Before he could make any move, a massive shoe fell from the sky, crushing both the Demon Emperor and the entire mountain beneath it.

In an instant, the mountain peak turned into a huge pit.

The Great Liang Emperor’s figure appeared beside the giant pit, his emperor robes fluttering, exuding an indescribable air of majesty.

The next moment, a figure flew out of the pit. The Demon Emperor reappeared and threw a heavy punch, but the Great Liang Emperor moved his palm downward to block the Demon Emperor’s powerful blow. Despite this, the Great Liang Emperor slid back hundreds of feet, leaving deep trenches in the ground.

The Great Liang Emperor’s emperor robes continued to flutter, as if there was a frenzied gust of wind continuously blowing his emperor robes.

The Demon Emperor’s face paled slightly, but as he advanced, his momentum grew stronger, like a meteor streaking across the ground.

Then, the Demon Emperor bent his elbow and charged toward the Great Liang Emperor’s forehead, while the Great Liang Emperor threw a punch at the Demon Emperor’s abdomen.

Both of their bodies swayed at the same time, and terrifying auras spread out from behind them.

In this brief clash between the two strongest powerhouses of the current era, the two were evenly matched.

The Demon Emperor continued to attack. As the monarch of the demon race, the Demon Emperor’s physical strength was far superior to that of any cultivator alive today.

If there was anyone in the world who could match him in physical strength, it would only be the Great Liang Emperor standing before him.

The Great Liang Emperor threw a punch at the Demon Emperor’s head, while the latter was unwilling to show weakness, responding with a punch of his own. The two continued to exchange blows, their terrifying auras swirling around them and radiating outward in waves.

In this battle between the two strongest individuals of the current era, even the faintest energy from their movements could easily tear apart an ordinary Nepenthe powerhouse in an instant.

This battle was destined to be even grander than the Great Liang Emperor’s clash with the Infatuation Daoist Temple Master or his duel with the Sword Sect’s Sect Master.

Terrifying auras intertwined and clashed incessantly.

The Demon Emperor retreated hundreds of feet, stabilizing himself in the distance. Looking at the Great Liang Emperor before him, his expression grew complicated. “You’ve taken another step forward.”

Long ago, during their first encounter, neither had truly fought to the death. At that time, it was clear that the Great Liang Emperor was not as powerful as he was now. But when they met again after that, the Great Liang Emperor had already taken a step forward, which had surprised the Demon Emperor greatly.

At their level, even taking one step forward was incredibly difficult. Yet now, the Great Liang Emperor had taken far more than just one step.

At this very moment, he might already have placed half a foot across the threshold of Nepenthe, reaching a new realm.

The Great Liang Emperor smiled and said, “Some fortuitous encounters allowed Us to take that step forward.”

The Demon Emperor remained silent.

Such a possibility had never crossed his mind, and yet it still happened.

The Great Liang Emperor standing before him now had virtually become the strongest human powerhouse in the past thousand years.

“You also took a step forward long ago. It seems those great demons in the demon territory concocted those schemes in vain.”

The demons and humans were not so simple. The Great Liang Emperor had to remain vigilant against the foreign lands, while the Demon Emperor had to constantly guard against the great demons coveting his throne.

The Demon Emperor said, ”Very well. Today, you and I can fight to our heart’s content.”

There was nothing better than having a worthy opponent.

The Great Liang Emperor said softly, ”Perhaps today, We will cut your head off.”

Hearing this, the Demon Emperor merely chuckled.

”Perhaps We might sever yours instead. Chen Che, to die by Our hand would be a fitting end for you.”

The Great Liang Emperor did not speak. His aura continued to rise, reaching an unprecedented height.

The Demon Emperor also exhaled a mouthful of demonic qi.

Then, the winds stirred and the cloud surged.
