The Quest for Immortality

In the following time, Mo Hua continued to advance the ”annexation”, using military strength, force, personal shaman authority, and even various threats of ”genocide” to absorb all the small tribes along the way.

Thanks to the deduction of the Hua family’s ancestor, Mo Hua now has a map of the final destination of the Great Wilderness in his hands.

But a map is, after all, just a map.

Now the tribes are unstable and the situation is perilous, no one knows what is happening in the various corners of the Great Wilderness at this moment.

This map is also shrouded in a fog.

What Mo Hua needs to do is explore the map bit by bit, dispel the fog, and then annex the tribes found along the way, constantly expanding his power.

He isn’t weak in terms of military strength.

But Mo Hua deeply understands that in the face of strong enemies and the great calamity he will encounter in the future, this strength is far from sufficient.

He must seize as many ”pieces” as possible before the real strong enemy and real disaster arrives, to strengthen his power.

...

After another month of ”annexation,” Mo Hua’s power further strengthened, and the surrounding smaller forces have been almost completely absorbed by him.

The deployable military strength Mo Hua commands has reached eleven thousand.

However, the total number of his troops adds up to twenty-five thousand.

This is because the tribe doesn’t only consist of military force, but also ordinary barbarian cultivators.

Mo Hua cannot just mobilize military strength without caring about the life and death of ordinary barbarian cultivators, so some elders, children, and the weak and infirm have also been ”absorbed” along with them.

The whole team is rather bloated.

Mo Hua plans to find a plot of land later, temporarily establish a territory, settle the ordinary barbarian cultivators, and let them be responsible for Tao cultivation production, supplying the war needs, and becoming the rear support.

Only in this way can the barbarian soldiers in the front fight without any concerns.

Moreover, when the rear is stable and there are surviving relatives in the tribe, the barbarian soldiers in front have a ”reason to fight” and can be brave and fearless.

People must first have a ”home” and ”relatives” to have the belief of ”protecting home and tribe.”

Otherwise, this group of barbarian soldiers that Mo Hua has absorbed will just be a group of ”mercenaries,” with no real reason to fight and would immediately collapse when things look bad.

Mo Hua has great ”ambitions,” he wants to prove his Dao and give the wilderness’s people a chance to survive.

This matter cannot be accomplished by military strength alone.

There is also a need for land, the construction of a vast Tao cultivation productivity, accumulation of materials, and expansion of production. Only in this way can civil life be supported, war be supplied, life continue, and true longevity be achieved.

Of course, this kind of thing must be done step by step. .

Right now, it is still the process of small fish eating shrimp, turning itself into a ”big fish.”

Now the small tribes are all ”eaten” up, the next step, Mo Hua plans to target some weaker middle-sized and small tribes.

The first middle-sized and small tribe he encountered while exploring the map was called the ”Chasing Cloud Tribe.”

This tribe has a Golden Core Chieftain, a Golden Core Chief Elder, one thousand barbarian soldiers, and its overall strength is decent.

With Mo Hua’s military strength, it is simple to forcibly take down the Chasing Cloud Tribe.

But the problem is, the Chasing Cloud Tribe chieftain is unwilling to submit.

He is dismissive of Mo Hua, the so-called ”Shaman Lord” who looks young.

Mo Hua cannot afford to annihilate them, nor can he easily use force and engage in battle with the Chasing Cloud Tribe.

This is because of the word ”Chasing Cloud.”

Chasing Cloud is the name of a type of barbarian horse.

And this Chasing Cloud Tribe, for generations, has depended on the big tribes, specializing in raising barbarian horses for them, occasionally offering superior barbarian horses as tribute to the Royal Court.

This results in them, although not very strong in power, being favored by various forces due to their special skills.

Many powerful tribes with insufficient ancestral qualifications and not noble enough bloodlines cannot obtain recognition from the Chasing Cloud Tribe.

Let alone Mo Hua, the shaman.

Moreover, this Chasing Cloud Tribe chieftain is irritable, stubborn, and easily angered, completely lacking foresight, failing to see Mo Hua’s extraordinary virtue on the Divine Way, and his transcendental demeanor, just considering Mo Hua a ”swindling brat and religious con man.”

Even being used to arrogance, he disregards people like Lugu and others in the Late Golden Core Stage.

Probably raising horses for nobles made them feel noble themselves.

And they do indeed have this prestige.

If not for the famine disrupting the territory of the Great Wilderness and disturbing the situation in the entire wilderness, this horse-raising Chasing Cloud Tribe would absolutely not be stranded here.

Mo Hua cherishes talent and indeed hesitates to decisively kill.

Raising horses is not an easy task; the Chasing Cloud Tribe is indeed very useful to him.

He holds over one hundred and fifty barbarian horses from the Wujiu Tribe, the number being difficult to manage without anyone to raise them.

Furthermore, in the future, if his strength further increases and he acquires stronger barbarian horses or demon horses, even some monster beasts that can be used as horses, he will need specialized personnel to rear them.

In the current situation, this kind of tribe specializing in ”raising horses” is either taken by others or destroyed by famine.

The people of the Chasing Cloud Tribe are also killed one by one.

Once missed, finding another tribe in the fog-covered map to raise horses for oneself would nearly be an impossible task.

Mo Hua finds it inconvenient to use brute force but rather calms down to negotiate amicably with the Chasing Cloud tribe chieftain.

His posture is very humble.

But this humility becomes the very reason the Chasing Cloud tribe chieftain looks down on him, believing him to be a fake shaman, mocking Mo Hua sarcastically, and being disdainful of his recruitment.

Mo Hua’s patience gradually runs out.
