The Quest for Immortality

Mo Hua’s fingertips danced, the ink swirled around, lively and swift.

Formation Patterns, like hundreds of beasts galloping, leapt onto the ground...

Who knows how much time has passed, all the Monster Patterns gathered together, scales, claws, and flesh formed, a Karma Dragon with intense Monster Qi opened its eyes, shining brightly.

Suddenly, everything around shook, the sound of Dragon Roar echoed.

The scorching turbulent air rushed forth, and on the originally empty altar, strong waves emanated.

The Dragon Pattern Lock opened, reversing cause and effect, dense fog rose.

When the fog dissipated, the outline of an object emerged.

Mo Hua’s pupils contracted slightly, he stared intently at the altar, broke the fog of cause and effect, revealing a flag, black with yellow edges, embroidered with an Azure Dragon.

On both sides of the Green Dragon Flag, were rows of primitive and obscure Ancient Wilderness Text.

Mo Hua had previously studied the Taotie Spirit Formation at Taixu Gate, specifically researching the Ancient Wilderness Text.

Thus, he could recognize, what the meaning of these obscure rows of Ancient Wilderness Text really was.

On the left of the Dragon Flag, it read, ”The Azure Sky is dead.”

On the right of the Dragon Flag, it read, ”Desolate Heaven shall rise.”

Mo Hua took a sharp breath, a storm surged in his heart.

”The Azure Sky is dead, Desolate Heaven shall rise!”

”Could this be...the rebellion flag of the Great Wilderness?”

Almost at the moment Mo Hua, unlocked the Dragon Lock, broke the cause and effect, when this Great Wilderness Dragon Flag appeared, the spreading Monster Patterns on the ground condensed into streams of Demon Fire, converging towards the Dragon Flag, and after refining under the flag, they formed two lines of script:

”Pass on this Dragon Flag, exterminate the Taoist Court!”

At the same time, the light on this Dragon Flag surged, the Azure Dragon Qi descended, akin to ignited ”beacon fire”, transmitting this Dragon Qi to the world.

Thousands of cause and effect converged, the heavenly secret boiled.

Vast earth, azure sky dragon chants.

Mo Hua was utterly stunned.

At that moment, he faintly realized what he had done.

He seemed to have personally...lit up the Great Wilderness’s ”rebellion” Dragon Flag...

...

Thousands of miles away.

In the endless Great Wilderness, the solemn Dragon Hall.

A being seated on the throne, with a huge physique, imposing brows, golden long beard, clad in dragon armor, towering five or six men high, slowly opened his eyes.

Within his eyes, vertical pupils formed, emanating a frightening sharpness.

A shaman draped in a black robe stepped closer, knelt beneath him, tremblingly said:

”Dragon Lord...”

”The Great Wilderness Dragon Bone Lock has been triggered, the heavenly secret exposed...”

”Desolate Heaven Dragon Flag, unknown by whom...has been ignited early...the beacon fire has been sent out...”

The dragon-armored giant’s expression was indifferent, eyes projecting a majesty that looks down upon the world.

”So it is destiny, sooner or later.”

He slowly stood up, the dragon armor trembled, his towering form, like a human-shaped giant dragon, exuding the might to sweep thousands of armies.

His voice also resonant like a dragon bell shaking, with supreme authority:

”Convey the order, from today forth, my Great Wilderness’s three thousand clans, no longer shall serve the Taoist Court, nor respect the Emperor...”

”The Azure Sky is dead...”

”Desolate Heaven shall rise!”

”Exterminate the Taoist Court!”

The shaman in black robes knelt to the ground, trembling all over, devoutly said: ”Yes...”

...

Central Dao Court.

Heaven Shu Pavilion.

The Pavilion Elder claimed illness due to old age and took leave to recuperate.

Currently, the master of Heaven Shu Pavilion is temporarily handled by the Heavenly Right Pavilion Elder, but the authority mostly falls to the Supervisor.

This is a test for the Supervisor.

If all goes smoothly, in fifty years, or a hundred, he will be the next Pavilion Elder.

At this moment, the Supervisor was drinking tea, contemplating the Pavilion Elder’s position, suddenly glimpsed a red light in the distance, like flowing fire streaked across the sky, crashing into the Southern Wilderness.

Watching that blaze, the Supervisor felt only alarmed, chilled to the bone.

”Ying Huo...”

At this very moment, across the Nine State, numerous ancient ancestors of the Hollow Void Realm also looked up to the sky, gazing at that blazing fire in the heavens.

Watching as that fiery flow burned through the sky.

South of Li State’s sky, a spectacle of fire, burning the heavens and covering the sun.

None without shock in their eyes.

...

In the Taoist Calendar year two thousand and thirty-seven, in autumn, Ying Huo fell to the south, Li Fire broke the sky, invaded the central palace, soldiers’ calamity appeared, and the world began to fall into chaos...
