The Quest for Immortality

Although the Sword Discussion has concluded, the waves of events have far from ceased.

Within the Mount of Tao.

The revered and leisurely Elders have been urgently gathered together.

This time, it’s their turn to hold a meeting.

”The city siege battle, the city is gone, the field is ruined, it needs to be rebuilt...”

”This kid called ’Mo Hua,’ looks quite delicate and well-behaved, but his ability to cause trouble is certainly not small...”

”Others attack the city by just fixing a gate. He attacks the city and blasts it to the sky.”

”Little disaster star reincarnate.”

”I’ve managed many Sword Discussions and have never seen one who can cause such trouble...”

An Elder frowned, puzzled, ”I don’t quite understand how he could use just three High-Rank Formations to blow up the whole city?”

”What kind of formation principle is this?”

”Has the site been checked?”

”Checked, but it’s useless, the entire site is gone, all blown away, nothing left, no clues.”

”When drawing the Formation, this sly kid covered it with a blanket, no one knows what he drew.”

”When deploying the Formation, you could see a little bit, but not fully, and it was somewhat blurred.”

”It looks just like some brilliant but not too outrageous Nineteen Patterns High-Rank Formations.”

”Afterwards, the Formation exploded, and nothing could be seen.”

All Elders fell silent.

An Elder proficient in formations from the Mount of Tao reflected, ”It seems...this kid intended to use the Killing Formation to break the gate but accidentally triggered a structural imbalance within the city’s high-rank formation, causing a large-scale formation chain explosion...”

An Elder discontentedly said, ”So this means it’s our Mount of Tao’s own problem?”

”Our formation was not stable enough, which is why it led to an explosion?”

”The kid made an unintended mistake, so he’s innocent?”

”Currently, this is the only explanation...”

”No,” an Elder’s face darkened, ”Putting that aside, doesn’t he have any responsibility?”

”He was simply using formations in a siege, what responsibility could he have?”

”You...”

The previous Elder was too angry to speak.

”Is there a possibility...” An Elder frowned in thought, then slowly said, ”the kid did it deliberately?”

”The detonation site, the Five Elements’ cycles of creation and destruction, the formation’s structure, changes in Spiritual Power...were all meticulously calculated by him. The purpose is to blow up the city wall and take down the Qian Taoist Sect disciples...after all, this kid is the Qianxue Array Dao Leader.”

This statement was somewhat unbelievable.

All Elders tightly furrowed their brows, discussing:

”But in such a case...the required Divine Sense Calculation power would be substantial...”

”Not only that, a very sophisticated calculation method would be needed...”

”Understanding of formation principles...not just surface-level formation structures, but comprehension of underlying formation principles, is also extremely high.”

”This isn’t something achieved overnight.”

”It’s improbable...”

”This completely goes beyond the range of sect disciples’ formation comprehension. Even beyond what a Foundation Building Cultivator could manage. Even if he is the Formation Leader, there’s no need for such exaggerated praise...”

”Indeed, this kid is truly extraordinary, but to such an extent seems unlikely...”

”Overthinking it a bit, adding unnecessary drama to this kid...”

All Elders nodded in agreement, acknowledging it should not be a calculated plot.

Someone asked again, ”So what should be done now?”

An Elder replied, ”The city appears destroyed, Taixu Gate won, that’s the rule, what else can be done?”

”Not this city siege battle, future sieges.”

”Future?”

”This time was accidental, what about next time? What if Taixu Gate faces another siege and this Mo Hua uses the Killing Formation again and blows up the city once more?”

All Elders felt a chill in their hearts.

”Could it be this ominous? An accident once, could it be an accident twice?”

”Accident means risk, doesn’t mean it’s impossible.”

”What if this kid indeed possesses unmatched luck?”

”Or, thinking ridiculously far off, what if he truly relies on precise Divine Sense computation for controlled detonation, that would mean...”

”Whenever he assaults the city, he detonates one.”

”He is a Sword Discussion disciple, aiming to win by all means, no doubt about that.”

”But we can’t possibly keep building cities for him to blow up for fun?”

Thinking this way, all Elders’ heads began to ache.

”Then what can we do?”

”If nothing else works, apply Third Grade formations on the city walls, that way, no matter if he has three heads and six arms, he can only break the gate and not destroy the wall.”

”Third Grade formations...this doesn’t comply with regulations.”

”Not to mention, the cost would increase several times, all deducted from the budget...”

An Elder said, ”Then what can be done? With such a mischievous being, we can only accept fate...unless you want the next Sword Discussion to see another city blown up?”

All Mount of Tao Elders were speechless.

Though their expressions bore some resentment.

An Elder couldn’t help but sigh, ”Why did Taixu Gate have to produce this Mo Hua, truly worrisome...”

...

Yet despite the resentment, the rules were thus set.

The Mount of Tao promptly issued Sword Discussion regulations to all sects:

Hereafter, in the Sword Discussion city siege battles, all city walls will be replaced with Third Grade formations.

And strictly sealed, to prevent any further damage to the city walls.

Typically, Sword Discussion Conference guidelines shouldn’t change, especially those concerning the Sword Discussion system.

But adapting the Sword Discussion infrastructure according to local and current circumstances presents no significant issue.

Hence, this marked the first time in the Sword Discussion Conference due to a disciple’s actions necessitating an official modification of part of the rules.
