The Quest for Immortality

”Taixu Gate, could it really be first place?”

”They have many people, they have the advantage.”

”After all, the Three Sects have merged, the number of people increased, doing this ’human wave strategy’, winning more in the Yellow Character Bureau is normal...”

Someone sneered, ”What’s the use of just having more people? You have to win. Without this ’Taoist Soldiers form’, maximizing the fighting power of ordinary disciples, it doesn’t work no matter how many people there are.”

”If you send ordinary disciples up, if they can’t win, then it’s just giving points away.”

”The more people, the more points you give away.”

”And those formations and spiritual artifacts, clearly custom-made. Non-standard spiritual artifacts require designing formation diagrams, refining diagrams, and a professional refinery shop to cooperate in production...”

”If it were just one or two items, that’s fine, but in the sword discussion, Taixu Gate has so many disciples, each with a set, most of them different. Taixu Gate is truly spending a fortune this time...”

”What do we do now? The Four Great Sects want us to ’snipe’ Taixu Gate, but now it seems we’re being ’sniped’ by Taixu Gate instead...”

”Just listen to what the Four Great Sects say. Do you really want to become their dog?”

”The situation is stronger than people, there’s no choice in this.”

”Don’t worry, the sword discussion has just started, this is only the Yellow Character Bureau, it’s early, Taixu Gate can’t keep winning until the end...”

”If anyone should be anxious, it’s the Four Great Sects. If Taixu Gate takes first place, it would squeeze their position.”

”That’s true...”

...

The Eight Great Gates, Twelve Streams, and even the elders of Qian Learning Hundred Gates were discussing Taixu Gate being the first in the sword discussion.

Within the Four Great Sects, the disciples felt their honor was lost.

But the high-ranking elders were much calmer.

Qian Taoist Sect Hall.

Elders in charge of the sword discussion from the Four Sects had a brief meeting, discussing Taixu Gate.

”Who came up with Taixu Gate’s form?”

”Ancestor Xun?”

”He is an ancestor, busy with endless tasks, no time to watch these.”

”Then it must be Taixu Gate’s elder; I remember... Taixu Gate has an elder named ’Xun Zixian’, with sharp mental prowess, deeply learned from Ancestor Xun, with exceptional formation skills...”

Everyone neither confirmed nor denied.

After a moment, Elder Shen from Qian Taoist Sect frowned and slowly said:

”Could it be... that disciple?”

Silence fell upon the hall.

They were reluctant to mention that disciple.

With Foundation Building Middle Stage cultivation, they overwhelmed the Four Great Sects, seized the title of Formation Leader, in front of all these elders.

This was undoubtedly a ”humiliation” to the Four Great Sects.

For the Four Great Sects, it was like a hideous scar.

But now, with the situation being special, they had no choice but to uncover this scar again.

After contemplating for a moment, the Longding Sect elder shook his head, ”Not likely...”

”Those with extraordinary Divine Sense and close to being a monster in intelligence must be solitary in character, with cognizance different from ordinary people, acting in a way that doesn’t conform to the mundane...”

”Such people can’t be bothered to please their peers, or exhaust themselves for their fellows.”

The scene from that Formation Competition was still etched deeply in his mind.

Mo Hua, with weak blood qi and low spiritual power, sat in the corner of the vast Taoist field, emitting a strong aura, like a lone ’monster’, making a crowd of elite formation masters breathless.

”Such a monster, doing such thankless work, what would he gain from it?”

The elders of the Four Sects nodded.

Even though they didn’t like Mo Hua, they acknowledged Mo Hua’s ”strength” in their hearts.

A formation master with such extraordinary talent must aspire for the formations’ Great Dao, surely rising above everyone, progressing step by step, not being held back by those beneath them.

True strong individuals are lonely and selfish.

After pondering for a moment, the Wanxiao Sect elder suddenly said, ”In this sword discussion, this formation ’demon’ seems to be participating too?”

”Indeed, teamed with Linghu Xiao from Mount Chongxu’s lineage, and Ouyang Xuan from Tai’a Mountain’s lineage.”

The Longding Sect elder frowned, ”What does Taixu Gate mean by this? Sending him, a formation master, to a sword discussion?”

The discussion is divided into five categories: sword, formation, talisman, pill, and device.

As a formation master, wouldn’t he compete in formations? Why in the sword category?

The most perplexing part is being with Taixu Gate’s two remaining elite disciples.

Isn’t this a burden?

”Does Taixu Gate not want to win?” .

”Or is this ’Mo Hua’ not only a formation demon but also a reclusive, awe-inspiring sword genius?”

The Heavenly Sword Sect elder sneered.

Everyone was equally puzzled.

After a moment, the Heavenly Sword Sect elder shook his head with a sigh:

”It should be arranged by Ancestor Xun of Taixu Gate. This Ancestor Xun... his plots are unfathomable and hard to fathom.”

The matter concerning the Heaven Void Ancestor made many elders contemplative, but they dared not speak further for fear of offending the senior and being taboo.

The Wanxiao Sect elder said, ”Let’s observe quietly; whatever Taixu Gate is planning will be revealed during the sword discussion.”

”The day after tomorrow, this demon creature will show his hand.”

”Once he acts, there’s no hiding, whether a dragon or a worm, it will all be unveiled.”

”As for Taixu Gate being first in this sword discussion...”

”There’s nothing to say, having more junior disciples, a bit stronger, doesn’t change the overall situation.”

”A little bump in the road is good; if everything were like before, still and uneventful, it would inevitably bore us.”

”To outsiders, it might seem like our ’Sect Reform’ and ’Self-Renewal’ are just self-scripted and self-directed...”

”Indeed, a bit of change is good.”

”In the Yellow Character preliminaries, they might still sail smoothly, but later, they’ll reveal their true colors.”
