The Quest for Immortality

Elder Zheng patiently explained to Mo Hua.

Mo Hua nodded slowly, appearing thoughtful, ”So, as you say, is it possible for a Second Grade Array Master to mobilize a Third Grade Array?”

”In theory, yes, but the conditions are quite harsh,” Elder Zheng responded, ”First of all, these formations must be designed and constructed from the start for cost-effectiveness using ’decoration patterns’.

Secondly, such arrays cannot be drawn by a Second Grade Array Master; at most, they can only be used.

After all, it’s a Third Grade Array, and without the appropriate realm, even if it can be used, the effectiveness will be greatly reduced.

Again, the condition for using the array is strictly Divine Sense.

Whatever realm your Divine Sense is, that’s the grade of formation you can use. Even with decoration patterns, a Third Grade Array requires at least a Divine Sense of Foundation Establishment Peak, which is too difficult for most cultivators.

Without learning formations and honing Divine Sense, most cultivators, even if they have achieved Foundation Establishment Peak, would never possess a Foundation Establishment Peak’s array.

Therefore, wanting to use a small portion of a Third Grade Array at the Foundation Establishment Realm is nearly impossible, and even if possible, the array’s effectiveness would be too weak to be meaningful.

But...

Elder Zheng glanced at Mo Hua, pondered lightly, then understood Mo Hua’s intention, thinking suddenly brightened his eyes, asking:

”Are you thinking of trying to mobilize the Thunder Magnetic Array Plate you got from ’killing and robbing’?”

”I didn’t kill anyone!” Mo Hua emphasized again, ”And it’s not killing and robbing.”

He is a serious cultivator, generally doesn’t engage in such improper actions.

Unless absolutely necessary.

Elder Zheng obviously didn’t care about it, he pondered for a moment, ”Although the conditions for using decoration pattern formations are harsh, your talent is so exceptional that you actually meet all of them unexpectedly...”

Especially since your Super Divine Sense is three levels above, it’s really incredible.

Elder Zheng still finds it extremely shocking recalling it up to now.

Sometimes he even feels a real impulse to knock open Mo Hua’s head to see what’s inside it, why at Foundation Building Middle Stage, he already possesses a Divine Sense of Foundation Establishment Peak.

”The Thunder Magnetism Formation acts on the micro-scale of thunder magnetism, unlike common formations, it does not stress power size, nor the scale of spiritual power. ’Decoration patterns’ have little impact on their use.”

”However, you are, after all, only Second Grade, even if you mobilize the Thunder Magnetic Array Plate, it could only activate a small part, the real thunder magnetism effect, couldn’t even reach a tenth or a fifth...”

Mo Hua nodded, ”A little bit is enough.”

He doesn’t completely rely on the Thunder Magnetic Array Plate.

The Thunder Magnetic Array Plate is just a ”door opener”, his true reliance is the Secondary Thunder Source Pattern from Returning to the Source, which is the ”Thunder Magnetic Miniature”. ṙαΝỌ฿Ěṡ

”As long as you know what’s important in your heart, that’s enough.” Elder Zheng said.

Clever children don’t need too many constraints; letting them learn things in a divergent way often leads to pleasant surprises.

Of course, it would be even better if this ”surprise” doesn’t develop into ”fright”...

Elder Zheng silently looked at Mo Hua, then after a moment of contemplation, took out a jade slip, infused it with a bit of Divine Sense, recorded some words in it, and handed it to Mo Hua.

”I’ve recorded some insights on ’decoration patterns’ into this jade slip, take a look when you have time, I won’t say more.”

Mo Hua was overjoyed, took the jade slip, and thanked, ”Thank you, elder!”

They finished discussing formations, Mo Hua acquired the jade slip, and the tea was also finished. Elder Zheng was going to leave, so Mo Hua got up to bid farewell.

”Mo Hua.”

Elder Zheng suddenly called out to him, his eyes showing contemplation as though there was something he wanted to say but was hesitant.

”Elder, is there anything else?” Mo Hua asked, puzzled.

Elder Zheng pondered for a moment, sighed, and slowly began speaking:

”’Decoration patterns’ are not recognized by orthodox Array Masters, most Array Masters in the world aspire for more profound Array Dao, not to lower their grade to mix with low-level arrays.”

”But you should know, ’decoration patterns’ themselves are not about finding a shortcut or lowering oneself, they are a kind of ’Dao’ on their own.”

”In this world, low-grade and high-grade coexist, as do formations, especially in the large-scale, high-capacity large formations.”

”First Grade, Second Grade, Third Grade, and even above Third Grade formations are collectively managed and act upon large formations.”

”Just like this world, from Qi Refinement to Foundation Establishment, Golden Core to Feather Transformation Heaven Void, regardless of realm, all live together in this land.”

”The principles of the world encompass all things, accommodate all beings and help the common people.”

”Real major world affairs inevitably involve all beings of the world and profoundly affect every cultivator from Qi Refinement to Heaven Void, from low-rank to high-rank.”

”Feather Transformation Heaven Void, although high in realm and strong in cultivation, there’s still a lot one cannot achieve alone.”

”Formations are like people. Sometimes, high-grade formations may not really benefit all beings of the world.”

”To form a large formation, it must contain thousands of arrays, indiscriminately.”

”To accomplish major affairs, it must also concentrate every power from Qi Refinement to Heaven Void, none can be neglected.”

Elder Zheng took a deep look at Mo Hua, ”These are merely some idle words, but...”

”Your talent is too strong, you learn formations... too fast, I fear you may keep learning upward and may climb too high, eventually overlooking some underlying issues...”

Mo Hua was taken aback, stunned, lost in thought.

He couldn’t help but recall long ago when he started learning formations and was casting a stove for his mother, she said:

”It’s not just Array Masters, all cultivators are the same, when people climb high, they won’t look below...”
