The Quest for Immortality

The fleeing Eighth Elder, and the vengeful Elder Xue, under the orchestration of Mo Hua, were recklessly rushing towards each other.

Finally, under Mo Hua’s ”manipulation”, a few hours later, the Eighth Elder, who had been hurriedly traveling, was now less than ten miles away from Elder Xue.

Mo Hua pretended to be unaware and sent a transmission: ”Not good, Elder Xue has caught up to you.”

The Eighth Elder, who had thought everything was smooth sailing, felt as if he had fallen into an icy abyss.

”How is it possible? How could he catch up with me?!”

Because I’m leading him to you...

Mo Hua silently thought to himself.

But the truth was too cruel, and Mo Hua couldn’t bear to say it out loud.

”It’s too late, quickly, go to the left!” Mo Hua instructed the Eighth Elder on the path.

The Eighth Elder gritted his teeth; he had no choice but to run to the left.

He didn’t want to encounter the ”Evil Star” like the Fourth Elder.

After running for a while, Mo Hua again said: ”There are Taoist Court Officials ahead, turn right!”

The Eighth Elder had no choice but to turn right again. After running for a bit, Mo Hua said: ”Elder Xue is less than five miles away, go left again.”

Startled, the Eighth Elder turned left again.

Then Mo Hua directed him left and right, causing the Eighth Elder to run in circles. During this time, Gu Changhuai had already ordered the Taoist Court cultivators to lay a trap at the location designated by Mo Hua.

The Eighth Elder was step by step approaching a dead end.

Even the Eighth Elder realized something was amiss.

He was circling without escaping the mountains, and the more he fled, the more perilous it became. When he looked up, he found that unknowingly, he had been led to the base of a cliff.

Three sides were sheer rock walls, even birds couldn’t pass, and there was no escape from this dangerous terrain.

Where is this?

The Eighth Elder felt a chill in his heart and, with trembling hands, took out the Elder’s Token and sent a message to Mo Hua: ”Which way should I go?”

Mo Hua: ”You guess.”

The Eighth Elder was furious.

Guess your stupid head!

”Hurry up! Tell me, which way should I go?!” the Eighth Elder demanded angrily.

”Left.”

”The left is a rock wall!”

”Then right.”

”All three sides are mountains!”

”That can’t be right, how could it be mountains...”

The trust that the Eighth Elder had gradually built for ”Mo Hua” bit by bit was crumbling. .

A terrifying suspicion arose in his heart.

”Have you been... deceiving me all along? Are you... ’playing’ with me?!”

After sending this message, the Demon Sect Token fell silent for a long time without a reply, and the Eighth Elder’s heart was growing colder by the minute. 𝙧ᴀ₦o͍𐌱Еş

An unknown amount of time passed before the Demon Sect Token suddenly trembled.

The Eighth Elder quickly checked it, and a message came through the token, but it contained no words, only a...

A small smiley face drawn with Magnetic Ink.

This simple smiley face was pure and cute, yet exuded a sinister and eerie aura.

The Eighth Elder turned pale, his knees weak.

”It’s over...”

He turned to run, but upon doing so, he found a figure clad in blood-stained robes, emitting a menacing aura, like an ”executioner” — Elder Xue, was already standing behind him unbeknownst to him.

Elder Xue slowly drew his Blood Blade, his throat moving as he said:

”Traitor...”

The Eighth Elder offered no explanation.

In front of the deranged Elder Xue, words were futile.

He tore open his arm, extracting a piece of stark white, blood-dripping bone spike — his Demon Path own Magical Treasure.

At this point, a fight to the death was inevitable.

The Eighth Elder and Elder Xue, with one word dispute, were engaged in a battle, Demonic Qi surged, Blood Blade and bone spike clashed, locked in an equal struggle for a brief moment.

But the Eighth Elder was no match for the bloodthirsty Elder Xue; after a few dozen rounds, he was falling behind.

As he tangled with Elder Xue, he picked up a Blood Talisman, placed it in his mouth, and upon expelling it, it transformed into a Blood Curse Skull, which bit down on Elder Xue, limiting his actions.

With this opportunity, the Eighth Elder desperately tried to escape.

But he hadn’t made it several feet before facing a wall of shadows, an array of Taoist Court Golden Core Stewards, and Foundation Establishment Late Stage Enforcement Leaders formed a human barricade, surrounding him completely.

The leader, elegant and handsome with an indifferent face, was none other than Gu Changhuai.

The Eighth Elder was filled with despair.

He understood now, from the beginning, this was a trap.

From beginning to end, he had been manipulated by others at their whim.

And even now, he didn’t know who had been toying with him.

In his final moments, the only thing etched in his memory was that simple yet eerie, small smiley face drawn with Magnetic Ink...

...

Far away, over a thousand miles at Taixu Mountain.

Mo Hua put away the Guest Elder Token.

He had done everything he could, and the follow-up of eliminating the Eighth Elder and Elder Xue from the Demon Sect would be handled by Uncle Gu.

Two Golden Core Demons, their cultivation was too high for him to handle at the moment, he could only hide behind the scenes and play small tricks at most.

”I hope everything goes smoothly, and Uncle Gu can kill those two Golden Core Demons and then send my ’package’ over.”

”I hope Uncle Gu and the others remain safe.”

”With so many people from the Taoist Court in pursuit, Uncle Gu should not die...”

Mo Hua was a bit worried but could only wait quietly for the outcome.

This process was unexpectedly lengthy.

Was the Eighth Elder too cunning and escaped, or was Elder Xue too powerful and hard to kill...

After a half-day of anxious waiting, Gu Changhuai finally sent a transmission:

”Both are dead, it went relatively smoothly.”

Only then did Mo Hua breathe a sigh of relief.

”In two days, I’ll give you the map,” Gu Changhuai said.

”Okay.”

”I have more work to deal with afterward...”

”Alright, Uncle Gu, familiar with the process of the Taoist Court. You go on with your work.”

After finishing the conversation with Gu Changhuai, Mo Hua thought for a moment and then took out the Guest Elder Token, sending a transmission to Elder You of the Demon Sect as ”Mr. Yuan”:

”Elder Xue fulfilled his duty and killed the Eighth Elder.”

”But the Taoist Court was too despicable, with their overwhelming numbers, Elder Xue couldn’t survive either...”

The other side was silent for a moment before replying:

”I understand, thank you, Mr. Yuan.”

Although losing two Golden Core Elders, Elder You’s tone seemed somewhat calm.

Mo Hua found it puzzling.

However, it might also be that Elder You was deep in scheming, revealing no emotions of joy or anger.

To solidify his ”character,” Mo Hua added:

”I’ve done what I needed to do, don’t forget about the reward, Elder You.”

Elder You: ”Don’t worry, Mr. Yuan.”

The conversation ended there.

Mo Hua put the matter aside for the moment and focused on waiting for his ”package.”

Two days later, Gu Changhuai came to the Taixu Gate and personally handed over the Five Elements Map sealed with ”Evil Spirits” to Mo Hua.

”Killing two demons, sealing twice, not sure if there would be any issue.”

”There should be none...”

”You know what you’re doing, the Taoist Court has matters to attend to, I’ll not delay further,” Gu Changhuai said.

”Alright.”

Mo Hua waved goodbye to Gu Changhuai, then, holding the Five Elements Map, as before, went to a secluded hill near Taixu Mountain, with anticipation in his heart.

Just eat them, refine them, and his Divine Sense Sublimation would advance enough, and the bottleneck of Heaven Yan Jue would be broken.
