The Quest for Immortality

Array Competition First, Array Leader.

Not to mention the Foundation Building Middle Stage and the Super Divine Sense conditions, just the identity of an Array Leader in the Taixu Gate’s history is indeed unprecedented.

—Because the Taixu Gate does not excel in ”Formations”.

Moreover, because of Mo Hua’s achievement in the Formation category, the Taixu Gate directly ascended to the top three of the ”Eight Great Gates”, increasing the worth of all Taixu disciples.

Even when bragging outside, their faces shine with radiance.

Mo Hua now is like a ”Money Cat”, everyone who sees him beams with joy.

And that’s not all.

Since Mo Hua’s fame spread like wildfire, even staying inside Taixu Gate, every day there is an uninterrupted flow of ”visitation cards” and ”gifts” sent to Taixu Gate.

These cards and gifts are sent by other families and sects.

There are those who want to visit, those who want to invite him to gatherings, those who seek friendship, and even those wishing to form alliances, or trying to poach him.

Most of these, Mo Hua declined.

Courtesy demands reciprocity.

In this world, there is no such thing as taking benefits without reciprocation.

Accepting others’ gifts now means owing favors, and these must be returned in the future.

Mo Hua neither covets nor is foolish.

However, even so, he did accept gifts from a few families.

For example, the Gu Family.

He often went to the Gu Family for meals and had good relationships with many of their elders and disciples, so he had to give the Gu Family face.

The Shangguan Family and the Wenren Family also sent gifts.

Mo Hua thought about it and declined to accept them.

As expected, a few days later, Wenren Wan personally came on behalf of the family heads of the two families to present gifts to Mo Hua at Taixu Gate.

Only then did Mo Hua accept the gifts.

Wenren Wan herself also gifted Mo Hua many things and showed great care towards him.

Afterwards, she silently watched Mo Hua, her beautiful eyes filled with both relief and gratitude.

She truly hadn’t expected that this child Mo Hua would offer her such a great blessing of goodwill.

Now, her position in the Shangguan Family was almost on par with Elder Shangguan Wang of the Feather Transformation Realm.

Wenren Wan was overwhelmed with emotions.

Then she gave meticulous instructions to Mo Hua and reluctantly left the Taixu Gate.

Mo Hua also personally escorted Wenren Wan to the Mountain Gate.

Some gifts from other influences were accepted by Mo Hua based on circumstances.

And even though Mo Hua did not accept gifts from many family sects, they still repeatedly showed goodwill, sending gifts to him and Taixu Gate.

Such clamor for fame and fortune, wealth arriving at the door.

Mo Hua couldn’t help but feel a bit of youthful arrogance.

But after a while, he realized this was not quite right.

These were not truly what he wanted.

Cultivators cultivate the ”truth”, seek the ”Dao”.

One shouldn’t lose a steady heart because of fame and fortune, allowing restlessness and complacency to erode one’s Taoist Heart.

What he ultimately wants to pursue is the mystery of the Formation, the Law of heaven and earth, the insight into all illusory truths, the quest for the Great Dao of eternal life. ŕÂ𝐍Ố𝔟Ё𝐬

Only in this way can one change Yin and Yang, reverse life and death, pierce the heavenly secret, grasp cause and effect, experience countless tribulations without death, and become immortal through the Dao.

Fame and fortune may not necessarily be good things.

If he becomes intoxicated by them, he will certainly become lazy, step by step distancing himself from the true ”Great Dao”.

From another perspective, this is also a kind of test.

Not only hardship can temper the Taoist Heart, the lure of fame and fortune itself is also a refinement of the Taoist Heart.

Neither sinking in hardship, nor getting lost in fame and fortune.

Do not lose, do not forget, uphold the true self.

Without tranquility, one cannot clarify their aim; without calmness, one cannot reach afar.

No matter how external things change, whether circumstances are favorable or adverse, oneself remains oneself.

Mo Hua froze, then his expression showed sudden enlightenment.

He only felt that his previously slightly restless mindset slowly settled down.

His Taoist Heart washed away some superficiality, becoming more clear and firm.

”The mere first place in the Array Competition, Array Leader, are all past events, not worth mentioning. What cultivators should pursue is a higher Great Dao!”

Mo Hua nodded slightly, silently said in his heart.

Then he calmed down and continued, as always, to cultivate the art of Arrays and comprehend the Dao.

Elder Master Xun had been watching all this.

He originally thought to let Mo Hua ”indulge” for a while, then urge him to study formations.

After all, being so young, winning the leadership, having fame spread like wildfire, being flattered by all sides, he should have some indulgent carefree days.

But unexpectedly, it didn’t take long before Mo Hua resumed studying formations day and night, as usual.

With a clear gaze and calm demeanor, almost identical to usual.

As if he had never participated in any Array Discussion Conference, never overpowered the Four Great Sects, never won the Array Leader title, without so much fame.

From beginning to end, he was just an ordinary sect disciple, passionate about formations, wholeheartedly seeking the Dao...

Elder Master Xun was stunned for a long time, his pupils trembling slightly, suddenly recalling the eight words left by the ancestors of Taixu Gate:

”Dao Heart becomes natural, returning to simplicity...”

Elder Master Xun silently recited these eight words, looking at the unperturbed, child-like innocent Mo Hua, feeling a surge of inexplicable shock.
