Pampered Poisonous Royal Wife

~ MU YUNYAO WAS CRYING OUT OF FRIGHT ~

The Grand Princess Yi De narrowed her eyes, and she opened her mouth, but no sound came out.

Mu Yunyao put away her silver needles and kneeled beside Grand Princess Yi De, supporting her to rest on her knees. “Your majesty, the Grand Princess’ condition is only temporarily stabilized, so it’s inconvenient for her to speak now.”

The Emperor nodded and raised his head to look at Mu Yunyao, but he discovered that her face was expressly pale. Cold sweat broke out on her forehead and even soaked her hair. While holding Grand Princess Yi De, she couldnʼt help crying.

“You … What’s wrong with you?” The Emperor was slightly surprised. How could she be so calm in the critical situation before, but now she was crying when she had done a meritorious deed?

Mu Yunyao hurriedly raised her hand to wipe her tears. When she opened her mouth to speak, her voice was even trembling, “In reply to the Emperor, I’m frightened. The situation just now was too dangerous. If there is something wrong with Grand Princess Yi De, my mother and I are going to die together.” When she was helping Grand Princess Yi De with the diagnosis and treatment, she didn’t think. But now that Grand Princess Yi De was stable, she felt that her hands and feet had become soft.

The Emperor was stunned, and a deep expression flashed in his eyes: “You are good.”

He could naturally tell that Mu Yunyao wasn’t lying, but she was genuinely frightened. If something really happened to the Grand Princess Yi De, he would have been furious and wouldn’t probably have let the Su family off.

Mu Yunyao had just wiped away her tears when the guards rushed over with the Imperial Physician. After the Imperial Physicians entered, they didn’t bother to pay their respects to the Emperor and immediately stepped forward to treat Grand Princess Yi De.

“Your Majesty, the Grand Princess’s illness has already stabilized. This humble subject will go down to prescribe the medicine now, and it should be fine after a few days.”

The Emperor’s cold eyes swept over them and said, “This is not the first time that the Grand Princess has suffered from an old illness. The situation this time is extraordinarily critical. Her face is ashen, and she can’t breathe. Why is this happening?”

“This… The Grand Princess Yi De is old, her health is not as good as it used to be, and her chronic diseases are more severe than before.

“Did I keep the whole Taiyuan Hospital and all of the Imperial Physicians just to listen to this? You’ve helped the Grand Princess nurture her body for so many years, and yet she doesn’t even show the slightest bit of signs of improvement. What’s the use of supporting you all?”

The Imperial Physicians and imperial guards all knelt down, trembling with fear, not daring to make a sound.

The Emperor’s tone was cold as his anger all over his body was overwhelming, so it was difficult to breathe. “I will give you some more time to take care of the Grand Princess’s health. If she end up like this again, don’t blame me for dragging you all down to the grave and asking all the crimes!”

“Yes, this humble subject accepts the order.” The Imperial Physician grew more and more nervous. They had already treated the Grand Princess’s illness for more than ten years, and their medical books had almost all been torn apart. They had even prescribed a bunch of prescriptions, but the results were unsatisfactory.

Cai Yi hurriedly walked in with a medicinal bowl. “Miss, the medicine is ready.”

The Imperial Physician stepped forward to looked at the medicine bowl before carefully dividing up a spoonful to taste it. He couldn’t help but wrinkle his brow. “Your Majesty, this prescription....”

“What? Is there a problem with the prescription?”

“The medicine inside is extremely ordinary and contains some cold stuff. The pain from the Grand Princess’s chest is caused by the cold air, and with something cold added to it, I’m afraid itwould have aggravated her condition.”

The Emperor looked at Mu Yunyao. He had witnessed how she was treating the Grand Princess, so he didn’t doubt her directly. “Mu Yunyao, you wrote this prescription. You come here and tell the Imperial Physician why there are cold stuff in the medicine you prescribed?”

The Imperial Physician looked at Mu Yunyao, and his heart was instantly filled with displeasure. Wasn’t this Mu Yunyao skilled in embroidery? Why does she know medicine now? Could it be that this person, in order to obtain the goodwill of the Emperor and Grand Princess Yi De, actually dares to commit the crime of deceiving the ruler?

“Return to the Emperor, the old illness that caused Grand Princess Yi De’s chest pain was indeed caused by the coldness as the Imperial Physician mentioned. However, after being nurtured for so many years and continuously being nourished with warm and nourishing medicinal herbs, it also caused the dampness and heat within Grand Princess Yi De’s body to increase. In addition, today is dry, with the great nourishment of the medicinal herb taken by the Grand Princess, the cold and heat in her body collide, causing the old illness to become more severe. The concoction that I have prescribed does indeed contain something cold stuff, but it has a curative effect on the current symptoms of Grand Princess Yi De. First, it dissipating the heat, and then it expels the cold.”

The Imperial Physician looked somewhat hesitant. With the Imperial Physician’s medical skills, he naturally knew that after so many years of recuperation, the burden on the body of Grand Princess Yi De was even heavier. However, this matter was related to the person the Emperor cared about the most. Many medicinal materials and prescriptions do not dare to use, for fear of risking the Grand Princess’s health to become worse. Mu Yunyao’s prescriptions were considered symptomatic, but the effect was particularly violent. “This …”

The Emperor’s expression froze. “Mu Yunyao, write down the prescription and hand it over to the Imperial Physician. Let Taiyuan Hospital properly study it. You don’t need to worry about anything else.”

A guard entered and reported, “Reporting to Your Majesty, the carriage has been prepared. We can set off for the Palace immediately.”

The Emperor nodded and looked at the Imperial Physician at the side. “With the Grand Princess’ condition, can she move now?”

“The Grand Princess’s condition has already stabilized. As long as we pay a little more attention, nothing bad will happen.”

“En, alright then. We’ll immediately return to the Palace and gather all of the Imperial Physicians of Taiyuan Hospital to treat Grand Princess Yi De.”

“Respectfully sending off Your Majesty and the Grand Princess Yi De.”

Everyone couldn’t help but heave a sigh of relief when Ni Yun Fang quieted down. The situation just now was too frightening. The Emperor’s aura was as strong as a mountain as if it could crush a person’s spine.

“Miss, why are you still kneeling on the ground?” Cai Yi curiously asked when she saw that Mu Yunyao didn’t move.

Mu Yunyao let out a heavy breath, “My legs are weak, and I can’t get up.”

Cai Yi and the others hurriedly went forward to help her up. “This servant really admire your courage, Miss. The situation was so critical just now, and you didn’t hesitate to rush forward and help without scruples.”

Mu Yunyao laughed self-deprecatingly, “I don’t know what’s wrong with me. At that time, I was only thinking about not letting Grand Princess Yi De get into trouble, and I didn’t even consider the consequences. Fortunately, good people get rewarded, and Grand Princess Yi De is safe, so I can be considered to have rendered a great merit.”

“Miss, you should hurry back to rest. Just now, you have been genuinely frightened.”

“Yes.”

Back at the residence, before she could even return to Jiyue Pavilion, someone had already invited her to the West Courtyard.

When Second Madam looked at Mu Yunyao, she seemed to had found her pillar of support. She hurriedly stepped forward and held her hand. “Yunyao, I’ve received news today. Take a look.” As she spoke, she took out a piece of paper and handed it over.

Mu Yunyao opened it to take a look. After she finished reading, the space between her eyebrows abruptly tightened, “Second Aunt, who gave you this note?”

The message on the paper was so simple, with only six short words: Pay attention to the Fifth Miss.

“I’m not sure.” the Second Madam was also very curious. “Today, I gathered the steward of the residence to take care of some chores. When I was drinking tea, I coincidentally discovered this slip of paper under the teacup. It was concealed extremely well.”

Mu Yunyao carefully looked at the handwriting on the paper and touched it with her finger, “What it used was not a brush and ink, but a Mo Dai used to draw eyebrows. The color is dark and fragranceless and should be used by the servants in residence. She is a servant who could know things in Ninghe Garden and squietly hide the note under Second Aunt’s cup of tea. It should not be an ordinary servant....”

“Yunyao, no matter who sent this note, one thing is certain. What we guessed is right. The Old Madam is indeed going to make a move against Su You again at your coming of age ceremony.”
