Urban Powerhouse: Chaos Supreme

”What’s the situation?” Vice Officer Jesse frowned and asked sternly.

Two soldiers immediately ran towards the bushes. About thirty meters away, lying in the grass, was the corpse of a black gorilla. It had been shot to pieces, with blood flowing out.

”Report, sir. It’s just a black gorilla,” the soldier returned and reported immediately.

”Hmph, just a regular gorilla, is it really worth your fuss?” Jesse rebuked coldly.

Lin Mo suddenly frowned and halted.

”Mr. Lin, what’s wrong?” Jiang Roujin also stopped with him, her little face showing a puzzled expression.

”There’s something ahead, everyone be careful,” Lin Mo warned loudly.

Yu Yilun frowned, his face somewhat icy. He had a peculiar relationship with Jiang Beiwang and Jiang Roujin, and he always considered himself the leader of this Divine Tree search team. Hearing Lin Mo speak, he was somewhat annoyed.

”Oh, what do you think is ahead? Stop pretending. If you’re scared, leave early, don’t stay here and embarrass yourself. Bringing these two useless ones along is the dumbest decision ever,” Yu Yilun, long displeased with Lin Mo, spoke without any courtesy.

Lin Mo rarely bothered with Yu Yilun’s words. He looked at Jiang Roujin and said, ”If there’s any danger later, try to stay behind me.”

”Okay, I understand,” Jiang Roujin nodded obediently.

Seeing this, Yu Yilun clenched his fist in anger and muttered coldly under his breath, ”Damn kid, sooner or later I’ll find a chance to deal with you.”

”Something’s up, ready for combat!”

Mark, the leader of the Bounty Team, immediately shouted.

At the same time, these four people’s black tactical suits flowed like water, immediately clinging to their skin, covering their heads, arms, and any exposed skin, making them blend into the darkness as if they had vanished.

Lin Mo glanced at the four of them more than once. Not only do their suits provide invisibility in the dark, but they also quickly reduce the heat emitted from their bodies.

For example, certain snakes hunt through heat detection. The suits reduced their body heat, lowering the chances of being detected by heat-sensitive creatures.

With a whoosh! Gai Ye spread a pair of silver wings behind him and flew into the air. The wings seemed to be woven of lightning, instantly illuminating the surroundings like daylight, allowing the soldiers with night vision goggles to see the strange situation ahead—three giant spiders were rapidly moving through the bushes, charging at them like cars.

”Such big spiders,” Yu Yilun exclaimed, his face stiffening. Each of the spiders was larger than a person, their bodies glowing with a dim blue light.

Long Jia Dharma King held a magic wand in his hand, faintly chanting Sanskrit hymns around him, but his peripheral vision glanced at Lin Mo before retracting his gaze.

He, too, vaguely sensed something just now, but it was clear that Lin Mo had already noticed.

”Open fire, take these bastards down,” Vice Officer Jesse commanded immediately.

Bam bam bam bam!

Ahead, twenty soldiers raised their automatic rifles, spitting fire, the bullets thudding into the dark, emitting fiery red light spots. But when these bullets struck the three advancing blue spiders, they made a metallic clanging sound, causing just a few sparks.

The bullets didn’t penetrate the skin of these spiders but instead ricocheted off.

Bam!

A muffled sound echoed as a soldier with night vision goggles climbed up a tree trunk to gain a vantage point, setting up a model 200 heavy sniper and aiming at the eye of the middle spider.

The sniper rifle used armor-piercing bullets, traveling three times faster than regular bullets, with ten times the power.

Instantly, one of the spider’s eyes was hit by a bullet, splattering blue blood in the air.

Due to its rapid charging, after injuring its eye, the blue spider immediately rolled on the ground, crashing through several trees and skidding to the ground before everyone.

Lin Mo fixed his gaze on it. The entire spider shone with a dim blue color. Its head had three eerie black eyes. On each side of its body were four scythe-like sharp legs, each leg bristling with steel-like barbs, resembling sawteeth.

”Steel Blue Spider, but it’s mutated,” Zhang Wei remarked unceremoniously, noting it calmly.

Apparently, Zhang Wei had encountered such monsters during a previous venture into the Amazon Rainforest.

”Die, scum!”

A shadow accompanied by a roaring voice suddenly blocked one of the left spiders. It was a member of the Bounty Team. At that moment, his hands held a fireball, smashing it onto the blue steel spider in front of him.

At such a close range, the blue steel spider clearly couldn’t react to dodge, immediately getting struck by the fireball, enveloped in flames, and starting to burn, emitting bizarre, tragic cries.

”I’ll handle this one!” Monica’s voice rang out, already intercepting the spider on the right. With arms outstretched, dozens of vines frantically grew around her, wrapping the blue steel spider like ropes of steel. Under the strangling vines, blue blood burst from the spider, killing it instantly.

”Just a mutated steel blue spider, and it frightens you like this?” Enveloped in a green glow, Monica was clearly a Wood Element Superpower User, especially thriving in a forest full of plants and trees.

Monica looked at the blue steel spider collapsed before her, a scornful expression crossing her face. She turned to glance at the soldiers in the army, dumbfounded in fright.

Whoosh whoosh whoosh whoosh!

Faint whistling sounds drifted through the air.

”Bridge, watch out!” Mark roared.

Sadly, there was no time. As Monica turned her head, she witnessed another white teammate being shredded, blood and entrails pouring from the severed head, limbs, waist, and abdomen.

”This is…” Monica rapidly enveloped herself with nearby vine shields, transforming into a green cocoon.

Lin Mo also furrowed his brows. From the distant darkness came faint sounds as he saw dozens of glistening threads shooting from afar, during the death of that white Bounty Warrior.

”Be careful, we’ve encountered a group of Steel Blue Spiders!” Gai Ye, always maintaining a cool demeanor, suddenly shouted with a changed expression.

Steel Blue Spider group.

Upon hearing, everyone else was momentarily stunned.

”Monica, come back quickly. The three of us will band together. A Steel Blue Spider group has at least a few hundred to a thousand-plus members. If we encounter a main force, we’re doomed this time,” Mark shouted loudly.

Monica quickly returned to her teammates with the aid of the vines, her face somewhat pale.

And at this moment, a dense noise echoed from all around as Gai Ye’s wings spread lightning, illuminating the surroundings like daylight. He conjured a blazing white thunderball and threw it ahead. There, a swarm of densely packed Steel Blue Spiders scrambled madly on the trunks and bushes, numbering over a thousand.

And this was just the count of Steel Blue Spiders in one direction. The sounds from other directions were equally alarming; at least five thousand Steel Blue Spiders were charging toward them.

”Ready for combat! Kill those bastards,” Vice Officer Jesse commanded sharply.

Immediately, each soldier was on high alert. They unlocked the safety catches of their automatic rifles and aimed in all four directions, while Yu Yilun, Long Jia Dharma King, and Vice Officer Jesse stood among the crowd.

”Dharma King...” Yu Yilun swallowed hard. He was pampered in Rio, never having faced such dangerous situations. Moreover, he almost vomited when he witnessed a Bounty Team member being sliced into pieces.

”Mr. Yu, just stay by my side. These things can’t harm you,” Long Jia Dharma King reassured calmly.

To be continued marvelously tomorrow.
