Urban Powerhouse: Chaos Supreme

Tong Zhen, who had been silent until then, heard Lin Mo’s words and stared straight at him, suddenly thinking of something.

The night before, by the coast of Qinghai, the storm had swept in with thunder crashing down. She had been watching television in her seaside villa, but the commotion on the coast grew too intense, so she took a pair of binoculars and stood by her bed to look out, vaguely seeing a figure standing on the surface of the sea.

But because the distance was too great, she couldn’t clearly see who it was standing on the sea surface, but now, seeing Lin Mo’s figure seemed to resemble one of the people she saw, though she wasn’t too sure.

”Mr. Du, are you alright?”

”Mr. Du, what’s wrong with you?”

At that moment, several people who were on good terms with Du Cheng hurried forward to help him up. Du Cheng’s face was greatly swollen, resembling a pig’s head.

Du Cheng’s eyes were filled with fury. Everyone at the party was distinguished and knew him, and Lin Mo had slapped him in front of all these people, filling his heart with hatred.

”Mr. Du, what happened here?” Suddenly, a figure appeared before him, followed by four bodyguards dressed in suits.

”Master Duanmu, someone is causing trouble at the party,” Du Cheng said, relief apparent on his face upon seeing the newcomer.

The man was Duanmu Fei, the son of the fourth head of the Duanmu Family and had just retired from the military. He had a fiery temper and had some previous connection with Du Cheng.

Duanmu Fei frowned, following the direction of Du Cheng’s pointing finger, and squinted his eyes to size up Lin Mo.

”Friend, this is the Duanmu Family’s party, not a place for you to cause trouble.” Duanmu Fei, accompanied by his four bodyguards, walked straight up to Lin Mo, his eyes emitting an intense chill as he stared at him.

”Master Duanmu, this guy didn’t have an invitation; he was brought in by Gu Youwei,” Du Cheng said, covering his face and wearing a schadenfreude expression.

Duanmu Fei’s frown deepened as he glanced at Gu Youwei.

The Gu Family, Du Family, and Tong Family were all prominent families in Qinghai, but compared to the Duanmu Family, they seemed somewhat weaker. Now that Duanmu Fei had personally stepped in, the others didn’t even have the right to speak.

”Dad…” Tong Zhen lifted her head, her eyes somewhat pleading as she looked at Tong Fusheng.

Only then did Tong Fusheng bow respectfully, ”Master Duanmu, this is all just a misunderstanding. There’s no need for you to personally intervene.”

Even though Tong Fusheng was the head of the Tong Family, he still showed a somewhat submissive attitude upon seeing Duanmu Fei.

”We have important guests at this party; if something goes wrong, can your Tong Family or Gu Family take responsibility?” Duanmu Fei demanded sharply, his Sword Eyebrows knitting together as he spoke coldly.

Gu Youwei clenched his fist and stepped forward, saying, ”Master Duanmu, this matter started because of me, direct your issues at me.”

”You certainly are responsible, but if someone dares to attack someone within my Duanmu Family’s territory, you need to give me an explanation!” Duanmu Fei said sternly, his gaze once again settling on Lin Mo.

Duanmu Fei was the great-grandson of Duanmu Honglei, known for his tempestuous nature from a young age and prone to seeking trouble. After being sent to the military to gain experience, his temper only grew fiercer, and with his not insignificant martial arts skills, there were almost none in Qinghai who dared to provoke him.

Du Cheng was more than willing for Lin Mo to offend Duanmu Fei, hoping that Duanmu Fei would strike Lin Mo and severely injure him, thus taking revenge for him.

Lin Mo frowned and then suddenly lifted his hand to strike Duanmu Fei’s face. Duanmu Fei was knocked directly to the ground, rolling backwards several times like a tumbling gourd, his ears buzzing loudly.

Not only was Du Cheng stunned, but Tong Fusheng and the others also widened their eyes in disbelief as Lin Mo made his move against Duanmu Fei.

The bodyguards behind Duanmu Fei had not had time to react, as Lin Mo’s speed was incredibly fast.

Duanmu Fei was even more shocked. He had come out of the military and even when a special forces instructor had visited last time, he couldn’t slap him and send him flying with just one slap.

By now, Gu Youwei and the others realized that Lin Mo might not be an ordinary person, but even so, by hitting Duanmu Fei, wasn’t he slapping the Duanmu Family in the face?

The room fell deadly silent!

”Brother Lin, you better run, you’ve caused a huge mess,” Gu Youwei said with a pale face, whispering.

Lin Mo, with an indifferent expression, put his hands behind his back and shook his head, ”The family head of the Duanmu Family would have to show me great respect if he saw me. He is just a junior of the Duanmu Family. I’m merely teaching him on behalf of Duanmu Honglei.”

Just then, a pleasant voice came from behind:

”Mr. Lin, you’re here.”

Everyone turned around and saw a beautiful woman in a long dress with tassel earrings walking over, whom those who knew her recognized as Duanmu Xiang, the daughter of the Duanmu Family.

Duanmu Xiang saw Duanmu Fei lying on the ground, and the joy on her face immediately faded.

”Sis, this guy hit me.” Duanmu Fei staggered to his feet, his gaze fixed on Lin Mo with hatred in his eyes. Duanmu Xiang was shocked; her own younger brother had offended Lin Mo. Her face turned pale instantly and she glared fiercely at Duanmu Fei before turning respectfully to Lin Mo, ”Mr. Lin, he is my younger brother. There must have been some misunderstanding. Please be magnanimous and don’t stoop to his level.”

Hearing Duanmu Xiang’s words, Gu Youwei stood stupefied while Tong Fusheng widened his eyes in disbelief at Lin Mo.

Who exactly was this seemingly ordinary young man, that even the Duanmu family’s daughter treated him with such reverence!

Du Cheng stood rooted to the spot, dumbfounded.

”Sister, who is he?” Duanmu Fei asked, rubbing his swollen face, unclear about the current situation.

Duanmu Xiang turned her head and glared at him, ”He is a distinguished guest of our Duanmu Family. Even grandfather has to show him respect; how dare you offend him? Uncle will handle you later.”

”He... he is the distinguished guest?” Last time, due to other commitments, Duanmu Fei hadn’t attended the gathering at the Jia Auction House but had heard that the Duanmu Family had met an important guest, who was a brother of Ye Beichen.

At this thought, Duanmu Fei’s face turned ghostly pale.

Gu Youwei too hadn’t expected that their friend met at the bar had such an impressive identity.

At that moment, a group of people came down from the second floor. Leading them was an elderly man with white hair and beard, followed by a group of men and women—the core members of the Duanmu Family.

”Grandfather,” Duanmu Xiang called out.

Duanmu Honglei, with all the members of the Duanmu Family, walked up to Lin Mo, bending down and called out in unison, ”We’ve seen Mr. Lin.”

Duanmu Honglei scanned the wounds on Duanmu Fei’s face, furrowing his brows. Duanmu Xiang whispered a few words to him, and the expression of a middle-aged man in the crowd drastically changed.

This middle-aged man was Duanmu Xun, the fourth eldest of the second generation of the Duanmu Family and the father of Duanmu Fei.

Duanmu Xun raised his hand and slapped Duanmu Fei across the face, scolding fiercely, ”You fool, how dare you offend Mr. Lin! You are not allowed to leave the house for the next six months. Take this time to reflect on your actions.”

Duanmu Fei opened his mouth to speak, but seeing the stern expressions on his father and grandfather’s faces, he eventually lowered his head, not daring to speak anymore.

As for Tong Fusheng, Tong Zhen, Gu Youwei, and Du Cheng, they didn’t even dare to breathe too loud, who could have imagined this ordinary-looking young man had such significant connections.
