Chapter 419: Friendly Meet With Riven By All

”Razeal...?” Nancy murmured under her breath, the name barely leaving her lips as her voice came out weak and uneven, her eyes trembling as they remained fixed somewhere between Riven and the floating eye behind him, her mind spiraling with thoughts she could barely organize, because nothing.. nothing about this made sense anymore

The way Riven had said it, the tone he used, it didn’t sound like resistance, it didn’t sound like rivalry... it sounded like expectation, like as if he wanted Razeal to have that power, and that alone twisted everything she had assumed up until now, because if this ”Dimensional Eye” was truly as significant as he described if it stood above even gods.. from his tone what he said? Then handing it over to someone who was supposedly his enemy should have been the last thing he’d ever want to do, and yet... there was no hesitation in his voice, no reluctance, only a strange, unsettling acceptance, almost as if the outcome was already decided.

Why...? the question echoed in her mind, her breathing shallow, her thoughts racing, Why would someone strengthen their own enemy? it didn’t align with anything she understood about conflict, about survival, about power, and that contradiction only made everything feel heavier, more suffocating, as if she had stepped into something far beyond a simple confrontation now truly.

Does he want him to grow? she wondered, her gaze flickering slightly, Is this some kind of test? Or... something worse..? Wait that fate and destiny Razeal was talking about? and the more she thought about it, the more it felt like she was missing something fundamental, something that tied all of this together in a way she simply couldn’t see, and that realization unsettled her more than anything else, because it meant she wasn’t just weak physically she was blind in understanding as well

Finally, unable to bear the weight of her own confusion any longer, she forced herself to look up at him, her eyes narrowing slightly despite the exhaustion, ”What do you want...?” she asked, her voice fragile but direct, the question carrying more than just curiosity it carried demand, desperation, even fear, because she wasn’t just asking for herself anymore... she was asking for Razeal too, for whatever role he had been unknowingly placed into.. She somehow knew she needed answers.

But Riven... didn’t answer, he simply smiled, that same calm, unreadable smile that revealed nothing, as if her question itself was unnecessary, as if the answer didn’t need to be spoken aloud.

Nancy’s brows tightened, frustration flickering across her face as she prepared to push further, to demand something more concrete

But thats when suddenly, the shadow beneath her shifted, expanding outward in a way that made her breath hitch in surprise, her body tensing instinctively even though she lacked the strength to move, her eyes widening as the darkness spread across the stone floor like liquid, stretching unnaturally to the side before rising upward, forming a cylindrical shape that pulsed faintly as if alive..

And seeing that Riven... simply stepped back, still smiling, giving it space as if he had been expecting this all along

And then one by one they emerged, stepping out of the shadow as if crossing through an unseen boundary Razeal first, followed by Sofia, Maria, Levy, Yograj, and Aurora, their forms solidifying as the shadow receded behind them, leaving them standing in that vast, empty space, surrounded by nothing but stone ground and scattered rocks stretching endlessly into the distance

For a moment, they all paused, their gazes sweeping across the unfamiliar surroundings, confusion evident in their expressions as they tried to make sense of where they had been brought, the silence thick and heavy until their attention finally settled on the one figure standing ahead Riven, with his white hair and unnaturally calm presence, and behind him, that strange floating eye that seemed to distort the very space around it; and then... Nancy

”What... is going on here...?” Maria was the first one to speak, her voice sharp, alert, her eyes narrowing as they moved between Riven and Nancy, immediately recognizing her.

”Nancy Dragonweaver...” she murmured under her breath, the name carrying weight, tension rising in her posture as the realization set in the youngest daughter of the Dragonweaver Duke family, lying there in such a state? it wasn’t something that could be taken lightly ofcourse..

Meanwhile, Nancy’s reaction was entirely different, because the moment she saw them ’People’ her breath caught in her throat, a sharp inhale escaping her as if she had just surfaced after being submerged for far too long, the suffocating isolation she had endured suddenly cracking open, her chest rising rapidly as something unfamiliar flooded her relief, fragile and overwhelming, like a faint light at the end of an endless dark tunnel.

She didn’t know how they got there, didn’t understand the shadow, didn’t care about the mechanics of it none of that mattered in that moment, what mattered was that she wasn’t alone anymore; summoning what little strength she had left, she forced her head to turn, her neck straining as if even that simple movement demanded everything she had, but she did it anyway, her gaze scanning the group, recognizing only fragments Maria... and then her eyes stopped..

Razeal..

Her pupils trembled slightly as they locked onto him, something shifting deep within her expression, because in that moment, amidst confusion, fear, and exhaustion... he stood out.

”You...uu you came...?” Nancy’s voice broke as the words left her lips, barely audible at first, her throat dry and strained as if even speaking was an effort her body could hardly afford, ”You... you really came...” she tried again, her breath catching unevenly between each word, her chest rising sharply as if she had been holding everything in for far too long, and then it spilled out.

”Save me... save me...” the plea came out fragile, almost desperate, not loud, not commanding, but raw in a way that made it impossible to ignore, and the moment her voice reached them, every single one of them turned toward her, their attention snapping instantly to the source, and what they saw made the air itself feel heavier her body half-collapsed against the stone, her condition visibly deteriorated, her strength nearly gone, the faint tremor in her limbs, the shallow, uneven breaths she looked like someone who had been pushed far beyond her limits and barely held together by sheer will.

Sofia’s eyes widened slightly, Maria’s expression tightened, Levy’s brows furrowed, Aurora instinctively leaned forward a fraction as if ready to move, Yograj’s gaze sharpened, assessing the situation in an instant.. and even Razeal, who didn’t outwardly react like the others, lowered his gaze toward her more seriously now, his eyes narrowing slightly as they met hers, taking in not just her condition but the state of her mind, the fear, the exhaustion, the fragile hope clinging to him..

He let out a quiet sigh, not exaggerated, but heavy enough to carry weight, ”Didn’t I warn you?” he said, his tone calm but carrying a faint edge of disappointment, not anger, not accusation just a tired kind of realism, ”To be careful... To always stay with someone you trust?” he continued, looking down at her, his voice steady..

”Now.. look where that got you,” he finished, shaking his head slightly, though beneath his words there was a subtle trace of something softer concern, maybe even regret because despite everything, he could clearly imagine what she must have gone through to end up like this..

”Save me now...!” Nancy pushed out, her voice rising slightly despite how weak she was, her breathing turning more erratic as emotion began to overtake her, ”You can taunt me later...” Nancy almost yelled, her voice thick with emotion. She didn’t know why, but after everything that had happened to her, and finally seeing that someone had come to save her, it made her feel strangely overwhelmed. She had imagined many people coming to rescue her her mother most of all, then her brother, the empire from her family, or even from other families. And honestly, Razeal had somehow been in her expectations too. And now he was here...

In that moment, it all felt like too much for her.. to the point where she might even cry... but she didn’t.

”You know her?” Sofia asked, turning her head toward Razeal, her brows slightly drawn together, her voice carrying both curiosity and caution as she glanced between him and Nancy, because the familiarity in their exchange was obvious, too obvious to ignore.

”Yeah,” Razeal replied simply, nodding once, his gaze still on Nancy, ”I saved her last time,” he added, then shifted slightly as he glanced at Sofia, ”And... we’re kind of in a similar situation,” he continued, his tone neutral, ”So yeah... we’re helping her,” he finished, as if the decision was already made and didn’t require further discussion

But before Sofia could respond, Maria’s voice cut in from the side, sharp and edged with something else something less rational, more instinctive, ”But why is she looking at you like that?” she asked, her eyes narrowing as she stared at Razeal, suspicion flickering within them, her tone carrying an undercurrent that didn’t quite fit the urgency of the situation.

And at that

Both Razeal and Sofia turned toward her almost at the same time, their expressions reflecting the same thought confusion, because the question felt misplaced, almost jarring given the context, Razeal looking at her as if trying to understand what she even meant..

While Sofia’s concern deepened, ”Maria... are you alright?” she asked carefully, her voice serious now, her gaze studying her closely, because that reaction right now, of all times felt off.. First back at shop and now this? She was just acting so weirdly..

Maria froze for a moment, her expression faltering slightly as if she realized she had let something slip again, something she shouldn’t have said out loud, but she didn’t take it back, didn’t explain either she simply stayed silent, her gaze shifting away briefly before returning forward

Razeal lingered on her for a second longer, his eyes narrowing slightly as if noting it, but before he could question it further..

”You bastard.. what the hell did you do?” Riven’s voice suddenly cut through the air, his tone sharper now, the calm composure still present on the surface but strained, barely holding, as he began walking toward Razeal, his steps measured but carrying an unmistakable tension, his smile still there but no longer relaxed.. it was controlled, forced, as if something beneath it was pushing against the surface

Instantly, the others reacted Sofia stepped slightly forward, her posture shifting into readiness, Maria’s attention snapped back also her earlier distraction gone as her body tensed.

Levy,.. Aurora and Yograj’s presence also sharpened, all of them preparing for confrontation without even needing to communicate it but Razeal raised his hand, a simple gesture, calm and firm, signaling them to stop.

”No need guys.. Chill..” he said lightly, almost casually as a faint smile appearing on his face as if the situation wasn’t nearly as tense as it appeared, ”He’s a friend,” he added, his tone steady..

And that... just didn’t sit right with any of them, the word itself clashing with everything about Riven’s approach, and the group exchanged brief, uncertain glances before lowering their guard just slightly not fully, not comfortably, but enough to respect Razeal’s judgment, their bodies still poised, still ready, because whatever Razeal called him... Riven didn’t look like someone who came without intent.. Well just from the look of it? he doesn’t look like a friend.. at all.

Sofia and both Maria’s eyes narrowed slightly as if trying to dissect whether they had heard it correctly even Levy’s expression shifted into something between disbelief and curiosity because the idea itself felt... off, not impossible, but strange enough that none of them could immediately accept it, as if the version of Razeal they had come to understand simply didn’t align with having someone he would casually call a friend

Still, none of them voiced it, not yet, because before the thought could even settle properly Riven moved, and it was fast, sudden, direct, closing the distance between them in a single motion before grabbing Razeal by the collar with both hands, his grip firm, unapologetic, pulling him slightly forward without restraint, and the shift in atmosphere was immediate, sharp, like a blade cutting through the fragile calm that had just formed.

”Do you even realize what you’ve done?” Riven’s voice came out strained, his teeth clenched as the composure he had maintained until now cracked just enough to reveal genuine anger beneath it, his usually calm expression tightening, ”Because of you... the entire world is about to descend into chaos,” he continued, his grip tightening slightly as he spoke..

”The cosmic balance itself... is destabilizing,” the words came heavier now, not just accusation but warning, frustration laced into every syllable

And at this..

suddenly

Around them, the others just froze not out of fear, but out of shock, because what they were witnessing didn’t match any expectation they had, not just Riven’s aggression, but Razeal’s reaction to it or rather, the lack of it

He didn’t resist, didn’t push him away, didn’t even seem remotely offended, instead standing there, completely still, allowing it to happen as if it didn’t matter at all, and more than that there was something almost... amused in his expression, a faint glint in his eyes that made the entire scene feel even more unnatural.

”Do you know this guy? Do razeal really have friends?” Sofia leaned slightly toward Maria, her voice low, controlled, but laced with genuine confusion as her gaze flicked between the two of them, trying to make sense of the dynamic in front of her.

”I’ve seen him before... in the academy,” Maria replied just as quietly, her tone uncertain, her brows still furrowed, ”He joined around the same time as us... but I didn’t know they were... This close?” she added, though even as she said it, it didn’t sound convincing to her own ears either because nothing about this interaction felt like anything she could define as normal

Meanwhile, Razeal let out a faint breath, almost like a sigh, though it carried none of the tension one would expect in that moment, and then he spoke, ”What a flowery language,” he remarked lightly, his tone almost teasing, completely unfazed despite the fact that his collar was still firmly in Riven’s grip.

”Are gods even allowed to speak like that?” he added his lips curling slightly into a grin as his eyes glinting with something dangerously close to amusement, because if anything he was enjoying this, enjoying the fact that whatever he had done had finally managed to crack that ever-present, composed smile off Riven’s face

The word god landed harder than anything else had so far, and this time it didn’t go unnoticed; ”A... god?” Sofia murmured under her breath, her eyes narrowing as they shifted toward Riven again, but now there was something else in them alertness? and confusion of everything she had assumed up until now, and she wasn’t the only one..

Maria stiffened slightly, Levy’s gaze sharpened, Yograj’s posture straightened just a fraction, even Aurora was kinda taken back.. because of that single word reframed the entire situation in an instant

And yet, neither Riven nor Razeal paid them any attention, their focus locked entirely on each other.

”You don’t understand the consequences? Do

You?” Riven continued, his voice still tight, though slightly more controlled now, ”Yeah, You dont.. you’re standing there... looking proud?.. Really? Really?” he added, disbelief mixing with frustration as he searched Razeal’s face for something anything.. that resembled awareness of the scale of what he had done..

As just the absolute audacity he have.. to do something like that and then be this apologetic..

Though at that Razeal smiled was just wide unapologetic grin that carried no hesitation, no doubt, ”You bet I am,” he replied, his tone light, almost cheerful, ”And honestly?” he added, tilting his head just slightly, his eyes meeting Riven’s directly, ”Seeing your face right now... makes it even better,” there was no mockery in his voice only satisfaction, genuine, unfiltered satisfaction.

And that was enough to push Riven further, his jaw tightening as his grip faltered for just a moment not out of weakness, but restraint, because there was something holding him back, something preventing him from acting on the anger that was clearly there, ”You’re lucky,” he said finally, his voice lower now, more controlled, ”That I can’t do anything to you... yet.. Because if not... i...” the last word carried weight, heavy with implication, before he abruptly let go of Razeal’s collar, releasing him not gently but with a small push, enough to create distance between them

Razeal didn’t react to that either, didn’t step back in defense or irritation, instead casually adjusting his collar and smoothing out his royal attire as if nothing out of the ordinary had just happened, his movements slow, composed, almost deliberate, before finally turning his attention back to the others, who were all still watching confused, tense, trying to piece together what they had just witnessed.

Suddenly a meaningful smile speared on hus face.

”Ah... right,” he said, as if suddenly remembering something trivial, his tone shifting back into that easy, almost casual demeanor, ”Let me introduce him properly,” he added, extending one arm outward toward Riven in a gesture that felt far too relaxed given the circumstances

”This is Riven,” he said, a faint smile on his face, ”My best friend forever... we go way back,” he continued, the words sounding almost absurd against everything they had just seen, ”And don’t let the appearance fool you,” he added, glancing briefly at Riven’s youthful form, ”He’s not just some kid,” his voice carried a slight edge of emphasis now, as if he knew exactly what kind he is doing with this.

”He’s one of the Supreme Gods,” he finished, pausing just long enough before delivering the title, ”...the God of Equilibrium.”

”A... supreme god?” Sofia’s voice came out almost as a whisper, her words trailing slightly as if even speaking them made them feel more real than she was ready to accept, her eyes widening as they fixed on Riven, searching his face again, this time not as a stranger, not even as a threat.. but as something far more dangerous, something that existed beyond her previous understanding, and she wasn’t alone in that reaction, because the word god didn’t settle easily in any of their minds

Maria’s expression was different as her her lips parting slightly in disbelief, Levy’s gaze sharpened but carried uncertainty, Aurora instinctively leaned closer to him as if grounding herself, Yograj’s brows drew together in deep contemplation, and even Nancy.. still lying half-broken against the stone felt her breath hitch as the realization began to press down on her

He was telling the truth...? the thought echoed in her mind, her eyes widening further as they locked onto Riven, because up until now she had dismissed him.. dismissed everything he said as madness, arrogance, delusion or whatver but now... with Razeal confirming it so directly... and with Riven not denying it... the doubt she had been holding onto cracked, replaced by something heavier, something far more unsettling, No... that’s not possible... she tried to reject it, her mind scrambling for an alternative explanation, He’s just... pretending... or but the more she looked at him, the more it felt like she was lying to herself, and that realization alone made her chest tighten

”You...” Riven’s voice came out strained this time, not calm, not composed, but tight with restrained anger as he stared at Razeal, clearly unable to process or perhaps unwilling to accept the sheer audacity of what had just happened, because exposing a supreme god identity in front of so many people, wasn’t just reckless... it was deliberate offensive.. Bery offending deserving of divine punishment..

For a moment, he said nothing further, just looked at them all one by one with an expression that hovered somewhere between disbelief and irritation, his usual smile gone now, replaced by something far more grounded, far more human in its frustration, before he let out a slow breath and shook his head as if trying to regain control, but thats when suddenly... something caught his attention, something deeper, something that made his eyes narrow sharply as he focused again on the group, this time not as individuals but as anomalies.

”What the fuck are you doing?” the words came out suddenly, sharper, louder, the restraint cracking just enough to reveal genuine shock beneath it, ”Reviving people nowww?” he stepped forward slightly, his gaze snapping toward Razeal..

”It made sense you doing ittt?... but this?” his tone rose, incredulous now.. ”What the fuck?”

”They both had died i can see it... and now they’re standing here alive?” his eyes flicked toward Levy the light green-haired man.. and then Maria, the blue-haired girl, his expression tightening as if confirming something only he could perceive.

”How did you do it?” he demanded, and then his voice dropped slightly, darker, more serious, ”And what exactly are you trying to do?” his gaze hardened, ”Are you not afraid of the consequences...? Playing with life and death like this?” because unlike the others, Riven didn’t need explanations.. he could literaysee it, see the marks, the traces, the numerical imprints that defined existence itself, and right now, both Levy and Maria carried the same undeniable mark ’1’ a clear indication that they had died once... and yet stood here again.

He pointed directly at them, his hand steady but tense, ”They’ve both crossed that line,” he said, his voice low, almost disbelieving, ”And come back,” and that alone was enough to disturb even someone like him.

Razeal followed his gaze for a brief moment, his eyes landing on Levy and Maria as if only just remembering the detail.. Technically he only revived one but again.. he didn’t cared whatever makes this basted mad.. he wants to be reason of that.

As his expression barely shifting, because to him... it didn’t hold the same gravity, ”Oh... that?” he said casually, almost dismissively, ”Yeah,” he added with a small shrug, his lips curving into a faint smile.

”What about it?” and then, without hesitation, he tilted his head slightly and asked, ”What are you going to do?” the tone wasn’t confrontational.. it was worse, it was indifferent, almost amused, as if he wanted a reaction, as if provoking Riven was part of the point..

And that was enough to visibly throw Riven off for a second, his expression shifting into something almost exaggerated as he pointed at himself, his brows lifting in disbelief, as if silently asking, Do you even understand who you’re talking to? Because the sheer casualness of it.. the disregard for consequences, for order was something even he hadn’t fully anticipated.

The air around them grew heavier, the tension thickening in a way that made even breathing feel slightly more deliberate, as Riven’s gaze moved again, slower this time, more analytical, scanning each of them one by one as if trying to piece together something that shouldn’t exist.. And as he was doing it.. His expression just turned worser by each second..

”Two who can’t die...” he murmured, his eyes landing briefly on Aurora and Yograj, his tone carrying a strange mixture of curiosity and unease, ”...two who have died... and returned,” he continued, looking at Maria and Levy again, ”...and then...” his gaze shifted, stopping on Razeal, lingering there longer, his expression tightening slightly, ”You,” his voice dropped, quieter but heavier, ”Who has died... again and again...” and then, almost slipping out in frustration, ”Millions of times,” the word landed, heavy and absolute

”And then... There is..” he added, his tone shifting into something more incredulous, more disbelieving, ”The biological daughter of a goddess herself?” the sentence finished almost like an afterthought, but the weight of it didn’t diminish, and he stepped back slightly, looking at all of them together now, his expression a mix of irritation, disbelief, and something bordering on exasperation, ”Wow... what a team,” he muttered, shaking his head slowly..

”Just.. What exactly are you all trying to do again?”

”Millions of deaths...?” the word came out almost in unison, soft, disbelieving, like an echo that none of them could suppress, Sofia’s eyes widening instantly as she turned toward Razeal, her expression shifting from confusion to something much deeper.. shock mixed with a hint of fear, Maria’s lips parted slightly, her breath catching as she stared at him, her earlier suspicion completely gone, replaced by a stunned stillness as she tried to process what she had just heard

Even levy, Aurora and yograj were confused by that sentence?

Actually even Nancy still barely holding herself together against the stone felt her entire focus snap toward Razeal, her breathing hitching as her mind struggled to even comprehend the meaning behind those words, because death... wasn’t something you repeated, not like that, not even once without consequence, let alone millions of times, and yet the way Riven said that razeal died millions of times?

And through all of it... Razeal stood there, unchanged, unaffected, as if the revelation wasn’t even worth acknowledging, his expression calm, almost indifferent because his actual focus was actually somewhere else..

”Biological... daughter of a goddess...?” he repeated.. as if the phrase itself didn’t sit right with him as slowly his attention shifting as turning his head toward Sofia.. Looking at her confusedly..
