Chapter 937: Chapter 936: The Sword Named Divine Concealment (2nd Update)

”Are you really willing to help me?”

Ye Haochuan felt extremely surprised; he knew Zhu Qingshuang was an Artifact Refiner, but he himself did not have enough raw materials. Zhu Qingshuang speaking in this way meant that she had Hundred-Refined Meteoric Iron in her possession and was willing to give it to Ye Haochuan.

”If you don’t believe it, forget it!” Zhu Qingshuang said annoyedly, not in the mood to explain anything to Ye Haochuan.

”Heh heh... It seems like you’ve already resolved to be my woman, as family naturally should not be divided into you and I!” Ye Haochuan secretly rejoiced in his heart, but he certainly didn’t want to say it out loud in front of Zhu Qingshuang.

”Believe! Of course, I believe!” Ye Haochuan plastered on a smile and asked, ”So when do we start?”

”Let’s begin now.” They were short on time, so Zhu Qingshuang did not want to delay any further.

Casting a treasure generally involves five processes, the first of which is the creation of the mold.

To create the mold means to make a model for casting. Sword molds are often made from clay, then placed into a kiln to be dried by fire, followed by further refining and finishing.

”What kind of sword do you want?” Zhu Qingshuang asked since it was going to be Ye Haochuan’s sword, thus it was necessary to seek his opinion.

Ye Haochuan thought for a moment: ”In terms of appearance, I don’t have major requirements, as long as it’s comfortable to wield. Also, it’s best not to be too flashy, keep it ordinary in appearance, to prevent drawing unwanted attention.”

Zhu Qingshuang nodded, then took out the special red clay used for Artifact Refining and began creating the mold.

Ordinary swordsmiths need a kiln to dry the mold, but it’s much more convenient for Xuanmen Artifact Refiners; they can control the flame themselves.

Because Ye Haochuan requested it to be as ordinary as possible, Zhu Qingshuang did not make the mold too intricately; she finished it quite quickly.

The second process - Alloying.

Alloying is to reasonably adjust the proportion of materials used. Zhu Qingshuang took out her Hundred-Refined Meteoric Iron and a portion of Thunderstone.

At this point, Ye Haochuan also brought out some minerals for Zhu Qingshuang: ”See if these can be used.”

”Fire Crystal Stone, Crimson Fire Essence.” Zhu Qingshuang took a look and said, ”Adding these minerals can improve the quality of the final product.”

Ye Haochuan also had a piece of mysterious black iron, which he had acquired from the Long Family Ancient Tomb. Zhu Qingshuang looked at it for a long time, her eyes filled with astonishment.

”Black serendipity!”

”What serendipity?”

”Ancient texts record a type of ore known as ’black serendipity’ that allows the owner’s Cultivation to enhance the level of a treasure as they grow stronger. Such black serendipity is exceedingly rare, a once in a millennium occurrence.”

Zhu Qingshuang explained, quite astonished, that Ye Haochuan actually had such mineral. She had never seen it before, and if it weren’t for her readings in ancient texts, she wouldn’t have recognized it!

”Level enhancement?” Ye Haochuan was pleasantly surprised for no reason, not expecting the stone he casually picked up from the Long Family Ancient Tomb to be so heaven-defying!

It seems this black serendipity is even more precious than the Dragon Frost Sword! Damn, this secret must be kept to myself; otherwise, if Long Keyue knew about it, she would stop at nothing to come and seize the treasure, even turning me into a specimen!

After Zhu Qingshuang adjusted the proportion of minerals, she began the third process - Purification!

Purification is melting the raw materials into liquid and then removing impurities from the materials, making the mineral purer!

This process is crucially dependent on the control of the flame temperature!

Zhu Qingshuang put all the minerals into a smelting furnace and then blasted in a Fierce Flame, beginning the smelting process.

The temperature of the Flame fluctuated between high and low, Zhu Qingshuang was fully focused, not daring to be the slightest bit distracted, as smelting is also a core part of sword crafting.

It was visible that the Fire Crystal Stone and the Crimson Fire Essence gradually melted, followed by the melting of the Hundred-Refined Meteoric Iron and the Thunderstone, but that black serendipity, remained perfectly intact!

Zhu Qingshuang’s brows furrowed tightly. It was her first time attempting to melt black serendipity, and she found it somewhat challenging; her Flame seemed to have no effect at all.

After all the other mines were melted down, the black oddity remained intact.

”Try using your White Spirit Moxa Flame!”

With no other options, Zhu Qingshuang had no choice but to seek Ye Haochuan’s help. Her flame was ineffective against the black oddity, leaving her only hope in the White Spirit Moxa Flame.

”Me?” Ye Haochuan pointed to himself and said timidly, ”I don’t know how to control fire!”

”It’s fine, just follow my directions.”

”Alright then.”

With that said, Ye Haochuan injected his White Spirit Moxa Flame into the furnace.

The white fierce flame danced within the furnace, as Zhu Qingshuang kept instructing, ”Increase the temperature, higher, higher...good, just like that, maintain this temperature!”

Under the scorching heat of the White Spirit Moxa Flame, the black oddity began to show cracks.

Delight appeared on Zhu Qingshuang’s face: ”It’s working! Increase the temperature further!”

With a further increase in temperature, it didn’t take long for the black oddity to start melting, eventually blending into the melted solution of the other ores.

Subsequently, Zhu Qingshuang completed the removal of impurities. With that, the purification step was also completed.

Next is the fourth step, casting.

Casting involves pouring the melted liquid into the sword mold, and then letting it cool and solidify to form the blade embryo.

After casting the sword embryo, its surface is rough; therefore, following removal from the mold, further finishing work is required, which is the last step in the process.

The final step is somewhat complex; first is scraping and grinding to make its surface smooth and even;

Second is decoration, such as inlaying colored glaze or turquoise into the carved pattern grooves of the cast sword, or inlaying red copper wires, gold wires, silver wires, and even carving patterns further onto the surface of the artifact.

Third is fitting accessories, completing the sword fittings, like the scabbard, handle, and tassel.

Fourth is sharpening the edge.

Since Ye Haochuan wasn’t overly concerned with the appearance, the second and third points were significantly simplified.

Zhu Qingshuang took out a small hammer and began further refining the sword embryo.

”Ding dang, ding dang!”

In the cave, not only the sound of the hammer striking metal echoed, but Zhu Qingshuang’s forehead also gradually broke out in sweat; this step was extremely energy and strength-consuming.

Three hours later, Zhu Qingshuang finally completed the hammering, then fitted the handle and scabbard, and after sharpening the edge, suddenly a thunderclap erupted, and in an instant, the sword shone with a cold brilliance.

After Ye Haochuan took the sword, he flicked his wrist and swung it, immediately a ray of sword light shot out, within which one could see a mingling of firelight and thunderbolt.

Because of the White Spirit Moxa Flame and Thunderstone, the sword now possessed both the properties of thunder and fire!

Then, all brilliance retracted, and the sword looked quite ordinary.

”Spirit Level Early Stage?” Ye Haochuan felt a bit disappointed; the grade of the sword was somewhat below his expectation. However, it didn’t matter much, as the grade of the sword would increase as his Cultivation improved.

But just in that aspect, this sword was comparable to a Divine Artifact!

Looking at Ye Haochuan, Zhu Qingshuang wiped the sweat from her forehead and said, ”Give this sword a name.”

The sword’s gleam concealed, its divine luster gone... Ye Haochuan pondered for a moment and said, ”Then this sword shall be named ’Divine Concealment’!”
