The Divine Urban Physician

Chapter 4107: Chapter 4107: Samsara of a Thousand Lifetimes (First Update)

Jiang Yurong smiled and said, ”Husband, give the child a name.”

Ye Tianzheng pondered for a moment, then spoke, ”This child, since he was born at dawn, then let’s call him Ye Chen.”

...

In front of a cute and delicate baby, there were copper coins, a writing brush, a dagger, Buddha beads, and other items laid out. Sitting before the baby were a man and a woman, none other than Ye Tianzheng and Jiang Yurong.

At this moment, the two of them were looking at the child on the ground with smiles, their eyes faintly carrying an expression of expectation.

Today is the day Ye Chen is to choose his first item.

Ye Tianzheng, as the shopkeeper of Ye Family Trading House, naturally hopes that Ye Chen will grab the copper coin, which would be considered a good omen.

For this purpose, he even played a little trick, placing other objects rather far, with the copper coin closest to Ye Chen.

However, soon, their expressions became somewhat strange...

Because, no matter how the maid tried to guide him, Ye Chen remained sitting on the ground, motionless, as if he was pondering something?

Ye Chen’s black and white eyes stared at that dagger, his gaze continuously flickering. The cold blade gave him an extremely familiar feeling, seemingly tethering to his buried memories. Yet no matter how hard he tried, he could remember nothing.

Suddenly, Ye Chen’s tiny body moved, crawling toward that dagger. In his mind, if he could get hold of the dagger, perhaps he might recall something?

Just at this moment, a towering figure blocked Ye Chen’s path.

Ye Chen looked up and saw a middle-aged man, wearing a gentle smile, looking down at him, and said, ”Little Chen, this sharp thing is easy to hurt you, it’s not good.”

Saying that, he pointed to the copper coin beside him and said, ”Look at that, isn’t it much more interesting?”

Jiang Yurong chuckled, shaking her head, but she understood Ye Tianzheng’s feelings.

The Ye family is a prominent sect in commerce, valuing harmony and wealth creation, most abhorred are these tools of killing. Even she doesn’t wish for her child to play with swords and guns all day, learning the ways of those wandering the Jianghu.

Ye Chen looked at Ye Tianzheng, hesitation appeared on his little face.

Ye Tianzheng is his father, his closest family, now that his father wishes for him to take the copper coin, he shouldn’t disappoint his father...

For a moment, the towering figure seemed to transform into an insurmountable giant mountain, blocking Ye Chen’s path toward the dagger.

Ye Chen lowered his head, turned around, and crawled towards the copper coin.

Ye Tianzheng seeing this, revealed a satisfied smile.

But just then, Ye Chen’s pupils suddenly contracted!

”Thump!” His heart leaped violently, as if something gripped his divine soul!

An unyielding will surged from his chest!

Ye Chen’s eyes instantly brightened!

It was merely someone blocking him, so what?

Proceed in accordance with one’s true heart, even if there is a Sword Mountain or fire sea ahead, one must forge ahead without hesitation!

One’s future should be determined by oneself, he has never been one to give up easily!

In the next instant, Ye Chen turned his body with a speed far beyond that of an average infant, bypassed Ye Tianzheng, and even before he could react, Ye Chen had already arrived in front of the dagger, abruptly taking hold of it!

Ye Chen looked at the dagger in his hand, a feeling of bloodline connection emanated from the handle!

With a thunderous rumble, something seemed to shatter in his mind!

Memories flooded into Ye Chen’s mind like a bursting dam!

He smiled faintly. It seems, he has passed the first life.

Everything around him suddenly became blurred, slowly fading away in a burst of seven-colored light.

Ye Chen was immersed in the seven-colored glow, his gaze flashing, faintly showing a solemn expression. Just now, when he became a baby, even his mindset completely transformed into a baby’s state!

Faced with Ye Tianzheng’s obstruction, he instinctively wanted to follow his father’s wishes!

Only the first life’s trial was so difficult, which suggests how daunting the thousand lives of Break Illusion might be!

Suddenly, Ye Chen’s expression shifted, beside him, the multicolored light flashed, and a female figure appeared before his eyes.

Lin Zhuqing glanced at Ye Chen, slightly furrowing her eyebrows, clearly, Ye Chen broke through the first life faster than him!

Ye Chen smiled slightly, just as he wanted to say something, but abruptly, the multicolored light intensified, and Ye Chen’s consciousness once again fell into a haze, the image of Lin Zhuqing gradually faded away.

...

In the academy, a child around three years old threw a book to one side, and was intently cutting a branch into the shape of a Wooden Sword.

Suddenly, a loud shout echoed from the front of the hall.

”Ye Chen! Why aren’t you studying, what are you doing!”

A somewhat gaunt middle-aged man, holding a ruler, furiously approached the child, looking at the Wooden Sword in Ye Chen’s hand, increasingly annoyed, he said:

”I wonder what you are up to! Fooling around with this kind of mediocre thing! You won’t amount to anything if you don’t study, tinkering with these! Do you perhaps want to be like those brutes in the Jianghu, robbing and stealing? Now, throw away that stick and copy the Three Character Classic ten thousand times!”

The children in the academy seemed somewhat frightened as they looked at Ye Chen and Mr. Huang.

Ye Chen is a renowned child prodigy, already recognizing ten thousand characters at just three years old, even able to compose a few poems. The villagers all say Ye Chen will surely be a top scholar in the future!

Even the always strict Mr. Huang broke protocol to allow him into the academy to listen to lessons!

But who knew, after coming to the academy, Ye Chen would disregard the teacher’s favor, whittling wood every day!

Today, it seems, he was finally caught by the teacher!

Yet, at this moment, Ye Chen seemed possessed, heedless of Mr. Huang, focusing solely on carving the branch.

Frustration flashed in Mr. Huang’s eyes, this child has limitless potential if he’d just study, yet he insists on forsaking a splendid future for these pointless acts? He even refuses to heed the words of a teacher?

Gritting his teeth, he said, ”Alright then, you may be exceptionally gifted, but if you do not know the importance of respecting your teacher and following the Way, how can you be a proper person? Today, as your teacher, I shall put things right!”

He suddenly raised the ruler in his hand, about to strike Ye Chen’s small hand!

Ye Chen looked at the descending ruler, yet his actions remained unaffected, without even a flicker in his eyes!

Right as the ruler was about to hit Ye Chen, Mr. Huang and the entire academy became blurred.

...

In a dilapidated temple, lay a disgustingly filthy middle-aged beggar, wearing ragged clothes, his appearance grotesque.

Just then, the temple door opened, and a wind and snow blew in. Within the snow, a six or seven-year-old boy in a brocade robe, his small face flushed red, shivering from the cold, entered the temple carrying a clay pot.
