The Divine Urban Physician

Chapter 2295: Chapter 2269: Take Them All Down! (Four More Updates)

The Abbot once again entrusted Ye Chen with the task before allowing him to enter inside.

Ye Chen entered the Buddha Cave alone and had not taken many steps before he discovered various Buddha statues.

The deeper he went, the stronger the essence of Buddhism became.

Moreover, the relics of the three Golden Buddhas within his body flickered with dazzling light as if they were about to burst forth immediately!

Soon, Ye Chen’s steps halted because he had already seen the displayed sariras.

The foremost sariras represented the weakest level of cultivation of the monks initially.

Jie Kong’s master, the previous Abbot, was at the farthest inside the Buddha Cave.

Ye Chen had just taken two more steps forward when he noticed something odd about the sariras.

These sariras, one by one, flew towards the Void, enveloping his body with Buddha Light.

Above the sariras, shadowy figures of monks appeared.

These shadowy figures glared furiously at Ye Chen, extending their palms as continuous Buddha Light fell.

Ye Chen frowned, perceiving that the sariras seemed to want to suppress him!

His body already harbored a Demon Body, filled with Demon Nature.

The Buddha shadowy figures deemed Ye Chen an Evil Demon, thus attempting to suppress him!

The crucial thing was, the Abbot had not mentioned any of this!

The corner of Ye Chen’s mouth revealed a bitter smile, knowing for sure he had been tricked by the Abbot.

The aura emitted by the Rotten Beast Sword had contained demonic qi, and the Abbot had seen it but never warned him.

He intended for Ye Chen to enter the Buddha Cave to face difficulties and retreat, by which time the sariras of Master Jie Kong would naturally be unobtainable.

Feeling cheated by the Abbot, Ye Chen was uneasy inside, yet he wanted to see how far he could go.

Although the Buddha’s strength during their lifetimes was not weak, now they were merely shadowy figures.

Ye Chen felt no fear when the Buddha tried to suppress him with force.

His demonic qi erupted fully, advancing instead of retreating!

What is a demon, and what is a Buddha!

Ye Chen had his own definition in his heart—whether Buddha or demon, it truly depended on one’s own true nature.

At the moment when the demonic qi surged, the Buddha shadowy figures kept casting down Buddha Light.

As the two contacted each other, the Buddha Light sought to suppress the demonic qi, yet the demonic qi on Ye Chen’s body showed no fear.

As they clashed, one must be injured!

The Buddha Energy descended upon Ye Chen’s body but was soon corroded by the demonic qi.

Eventually, the demonic qi became denser, whereas the Buddha Light grew weaker.

The outcome was very clear, and there was no need for Ye Chen to waste more time, so he strode past.

If he wanted to destroy these sariras, it would be easy, yet then the Abbot might fight him desperately.

Ye Chen continued to move forward, encountering some sariras midway that also sought to suppress him.

Unfortunately, all attempts failed. Ye Chen did not feel complacent but became even more cautious.

The deeper he went, the denser the Buddha Light he could feel.

He had a feeling as if he was already in the sea of Buddha Light.

Ye Chen felt that if he were to stay in the Buddha Cave all the time, he might one day convert to Buddhism.

This feeling was unclear and indescribable, yet it genuinely existed.

If he continued to delve deeper, Ye Chen might indeed be suppressed by the Buddha shadowy figures.

Of course, he was not afraid and continued to advance, reaching a secret chamber where he found more sariras.

Unexceptionally, these sariras transformed into Buddha shadowy figures, something Ye Chen had already become accustomed to along the way.

The Buddha shadowy figures did not attack immediately but instead spoke, looking at Ye Chen, ”Evil Demon, convert to our Buddha, and your life may be spared.”

Ye Chen looked on in surprise, noting that these Buddha shadowy figures still possessed a certain degree of consciousness.

”What is a Buddha, and what is a demon!”

Ye Chen boldly questioned, his eyes fixated on the Buddha shadowy figures.

”Buddha’s heart embraces all beings, yet demons slaughter them!”

One of the Buddhas spoke directly!

”If Buddha slaughters life-forms and demons protect mortals, who is the Buddha and who is the demon?”

”Buddha does not slaughter life-forms!”

Ye Chen, hearing the Buddha’s voice, let a scornful smile spread across his lips.

”Foolish, utterly foolish. Do you presume to know what he thinks in his heart?”

Ye Chen angrily rebuked. Aside from their cultivation practices, there is no difference between Buddha and demons.

The true difference lies in the heart!

If a demon harbored benevolence for the world, he could still be a good man.

Would a Buddha who slaughters martial artists or mortals for his own desires also be a good man?

The essence of a person lies in the heart!

This was what the Demon Emperor had subtly conveyed to Ye Chen!

And this was the foundation of Ye Chen’s Dao heart!

Ye Chen relayed these words to the shadowy figure of the Buddha, who suddenly fell silent!

These words left them bewildered. Every Buddha in front of him was a venerable high monk revered by the world, but in that moment, they suddenly thought of someone.

The Demon Emperor.

When the Demon Emperor had once united with the Buddhas to suppress evil spirits, was he really the demon everyone thought him to be?

No.

They had practiced their faith their whole lives, only to discover flaws in their beliefs!

Suddenly, a shadowy figure of a Buddha seemed to have an epiphany, sighing deeply.

He had once destroyed a member of the demon race, only to see that same demon save a young girl, yet he still eliminated him.

Because a demon is a demon!

He believed demons represented evil!

”What is a demon, and what is a Buddha?”

The Buddha burst out laughing, then the sariras exploded violently!

Having cultivated for a lifetime only to realize he was on the wrong path, his sariras did not deserve to exist in this world.

Nor did it deserve the reverence of monks!

Thus, he chose to self-destruct his sariras. Ye Chen, watching the vanishing shadowy figure of the Buddha, could only helplessly shake his head!

The other Buddhas, looking at Ye Chen’s figure, realized they, who had practiced Buddhism their entire lives, were inferior to a martial artist at the Star Aperture realm, and they burst into sudden laughter.

”Benefactor, it seems we were indeed wrong. This Daoist Treasure Jade Lotus, we no longer deserve to possess it.”

One of the shadowy figures of the Buddhas pointed towards a corner of the secret chamber, where a blooming lotus fell at Ye Chen’s feet.

Ye Chen hadn’t expected that a mere argument would garner him such benefits.

Ye Chen’s eyes turned to the other Buddhas, the implication clear. Since they had fallen and couldn’t use the good items, they might as well all be entrusted to him.

The other Buddhas, seeing Ye Chen’s demeanor, couldn’t help but give a bitter smile.

A moment ago, Ye Chen seemed just like a venerable high monk; now, he appeared more like a greedy little ghost.

Another remaining Buddha pointed, and a stream of light entered Ye Chen’s body.

Ye Chen felt pure energy flowing into his organs, and not only that, but the insights of these Buddhas from when they were alive also appeared in his mind.

Sitting cross-legged on the ground, Ye Chen had no time to think further; he needed to start refining the energy right away.

...

Outside, the Abbot, feeling a sarira explode, was completely enraged.

If it were just a simple explosion of a sarira, it wouldn’t have infuriated him so.

The main reason was the disappearance of the aura of the Daoist Treasure Jade Lotus.

This was a treasure of Buddhism, always kept within the Buddha Cave.

Now, with only Ye Chen inside the Buddha Cave, there was no need to guess who was responsible.

”Bring me Ye Chen’s friends, and Jie Kong. Arrest them all!”
