Starting Cultivation in Wasteland

Qu Jianlei used A-level Crystals to restore his breath and then rested for two more days.

No way, Crystals are indeed not very friendly to Cultivators, even if advancing to Supreme, they will cause slight harm to the body.

Fortunately, this harm can be compensated through quiet recuperation.

Qu Jianlei’s time is a bit tight now, but not so tight that taking some time to rest presents any issues.

After all, this is his first time living in space, constantly maintaining peak condition is the best way to deal with emergencies.

However, throughout the process, he occasionally couldn’t help but think of a question.

If the Qi Gathering Array were still in my possession, would recovery be more convenient?

Not to say that this thing is really Poison, but it was lucky that he left the Array on the Celestial Hook.

Otherwise, even though he knew this item was detrimental to his path, he might still risk using it.

After all, it’s convenient... Hmm, those who take drugs probably fall into depravity like this, right?

Now that he has returned to a normal state, he opened the vacuum door and walked out to check those abandoned mine carts.

On Blue Star, after a Mine is abandoned, the corresponding equipment is to be moved and dismantled.

But that’s not a world of abundant resources where everything can be recovered and reused, so of course, things would be taken away.

However, even so, many things are left behind at the abandoned Mines on Blue Star.

A lot of things aren’t without value, but it takes too much effort to move them, making it not worthwhile, so they’re discarded.

It’s the same here, taking what can be taken, leaving behind what isn’t worth taking.

Qu Jianlei didn’t expect there to be quite a bit of resources here.

Although now seeing them doesn’t feel strange, when coming here, he hadn’t really considered this possibility.

Whether these resources can be used still requires on-site inspection for specific analysis.

The scanning ability of the little lake is strong, and his Perception is strong too, but remote sensing has shortcomings.

Yet, the moment he walked out of the vacuum door, his body became cold, and his heart too.

Since the crossing began, he’s been scavenging, now even at Supreme advancement, still... scavenging?

Have these years I’ve been mixing into the belly of a dog?

Of course, he has various reasons to console himself, but this hurdle in his heart... he still can’t get over it.

Luckily, survival is the priority, his attention quickly shifted.

After careful inspection, he had to admit, the Imperial society is truly one of material abundance.

The garbage left behind also contains many rare materials.

Through long-term weathering, the materials themselves are already unfit for use, extracting these Elements requires a lot of Energy.

But nonetheless, many Elements simply can’t be provided by this Star Body, only available from dismantlement.

Energy... I have it, Qu Jianlei began extracting these materials with tears.

He really doesn’t want to scavenge, but that Company Level Warship... its fighting capability is truly too low.

Uncomfortable feelings, yet must admit, this garbage is indeed useful.

Qu Jianlei spent fifteen days finally preparing all the materials for the modifications.

The whole process wasn’t very exhausting, but it consumed a lot of Energy Blocks, tens of thousands gone.

The upcoming modifications consume even more Energy Blocks, especially the tools he carries are small and portable.

The mechanical arms on the Armed Merchant Ship and the tools accompanying the ship became the biggest helpers instead.

Qu Jianlei’s goal is not to completely restore the Warship to its original form, doing so could easily anger the Military.

The Main Cannon and such were already present, but many supporting weapons were missing, he wants to restore each shooting unit.

Currently, there is a severe shortage of corresponding weapons, but at least he must first build the shooting platform.

Then there’s the appearance; the Star Thieves modified the Warship’s appearance, which Qu Jianlei cannot tolerate.

Of course, the outer camouflage must remain, but it shouldn’t affect maneuverability and Invisibility Ability.

Especially this Invisibility Ability, the invisibility effect of Military standard Warships far exceeds that of other departments’ Warships.

These Star Thieves actually damaged the warship’s external structure, only preserving the invisibility coating!

This led to a sharp decline in the warship’s Invisibility Ability, otherwise, the two groups encountered along the way might not have noticed the Warship.

Qu Jianlei found it somewhat laughable, are you so afraid of the Military that you sacrifice this ability?

He understands that Warships with strong Invisibility Ability will be recognized upon action, unsuitable for Star Thief daily use.

But even so, keeping it as a backup would be good, why destroy it?

Qu Jianlei doesn’t understand what reasons led the Star Thieves to make such modifications, but he has his own plans.

He wants to remodel this Warship to resemble a Military Warship, similar in firepower platforms and Invisibility Ability.

Yet, when viewed by professionals, flaws can still be spotted, precisely that kind of ”fake at first glance.”

In other words, he wants others to think: This is a Starship modeled after a Military Warship.

Whether such an operation is suitable, he’s not very sure, feeling logically it can be reasoned.

Anyway, he can’t tolerate a perfectly good Warship turned into something neither high nor low as it is now.

Besides, he has an urgent need: if his invisibility ability is insufficient, how can he approach a habitable planet?

The Imperial expansion includes many planets, but even planets like Zarif, which have just started pioneering, have near-Earth warning devices.

If Qu Jianlei doesn’t want to die alone, he inevitably needs to contact the Imperial society.

Even if he finds a barren and undeveloped planet, he still needs to prepare various resources for cultivation.

For example, the problem of energy block consumption.

So he will have to return to a habitable planet sooner or later, and how to approach the planet without being detected is a major issue.

Qu Jianlei knows clearly in his heart that even if the invisibility performance of the warship is greatly improved, the probability of being detected when approaching a mature habitable planet is still high.

He is used to making long-term plans and considered the next steps before escaping.

At that time, his planned targets were to enter Zarif or the Garbage Star, as the near-Earth warning capabilities of these two planets are slightly weaker.

However, even so, he cannot guarantee that he will not be detected.

But as long as he can get relatively close to the target planet, he can make a full-speed landing and, if necessary, escape by abandoning the ship.

He has already completely destroyed the existence of this identity of Tesla, so no one should be able to associate him with ”Ran Bingluan”.

With his current cultivation level at the Golden Core stage, it’s hard for even the Supreme to detect his presence. Without top-level intervention, integrating into society silently is quite easy.

This is the basic survival route he has planned, not guaranteed to be 100% successful, but highly feasible.

However, since he seized the star thief’s database, he has more options.

This group of star thieves has interactions with various forces in the asteroid belt, which he can exploit.

He hasn’t thought through a detailed plan yet.

But this is no hurry, plans often can’t keep up with changes; so-called plans are just rough designs and need to adapt to circumstances when the time comes.

Modifying the warship as quickly as possible is the main task.

Seizing two warships also has great benefits, significantly improving the computational power of the small lake.

When initially escaping the star thief nest, it used terminals to control the warships due to insufficient time for integration.

In fact, the central control system of warships has much greater computational power than vortexes or anti-smuggling terminals.

However, the system is not smart enough; although it was a case of a small horse pulling a big cart during the escape, control was perfect.

Otherwise, the anti-smuggling terminal wouldn’t have been able to take over the central control system.

Now, with ample time, the small lake has commenced modifications to the central control system.

It doesn’t touch the system of the military warship; Qu Jianlei let it modify the underlying logic of the armed merchant ship.

The underlying logic of such large terminals is far less refined than smart handheld terminals, making modifications easy.

But integrating the entire control system and completely releasing all computing power is quite challenging.

The small lake spent a full ten days to complete the system integration of the armed merchant ship.

Though initially somewhat annoyed about not being able to modify the military warship, it has now come to terms.

”The military’s control system is much more rigid compared to the merchant ship; it’s fortunate we didn’t touch it.”

The military system, while robust, prioritizes stability and reliability, sacrificing many performances.

However, Big Head Butterfly is still somewhat dissatisfied with the merchant ship’s system.

”Computational power has increased significantly, but it’s still too energy-consuming, clumsy and crude, much less refined than handheld terminals.”

Qu Jianlei isn’t surprised, ”That’s just how large equipment is; where in the world is anything perfect?”

”Since there’s more computational power now, work hard on modifying the warship and improving the concealing array.”

Small lake replied there was no problem but had some doubt, ”What are you going to do?”

”I’m trying to set up a spirit gathering array,” Qu Jianlei casually replied, ”If I can get it up, I can resume cultivation.”

Previously during the peaceful three months on Half-Star Island, the spirit gathering array was almost designed, and he had bought a lot of materials.

During the six months at the Exquisite Factory, he basically perfected the array.

Now being on a deserted star body is perfect for research and testing without worrying about being discovered.

Testing like this, another three months passed.

Finally, the spirit gathering array was completed, and Qu Jianlei tested it for three days and was relatively satisfied with the results.

”The most crucial thing is that the sense of disharmony has disappeared, but...it consumes too many energy blocks.”

The consumption is even greater than the qi gathering array, and he can deduce there are still some core materials missing.

He feels if more materials could be tested, the energy consumption could be greatly reduced.

But this is an unavoidable issue; he sighed, ”Warships can be handmade, but materials really can’t be.”

At this point, the small lake timidly said, ”Boss, we don’t have many energy blocks left.”

”Hold on for a while,” Qu Jianlei made a decision, ”Once the warship is completely modified, we’ll go get some energy blocks.”

”Where to get them?”

”Obviously by robbing!”
