Starting Cultivation in Wasteland

Chapter 356: Chapter 236: Madman

After acquiring the Life Support Pod, Youyou first manipulated the Mecha to rearrange the surrounding cargo containers.

Her goal was to cover all the cameras; the cargo hold wasn’t lacking cameras, but generally, no one was watching.

Now the entire cargo hold was brightly lit, naturally with numerous cameras monitoring her.

However, in fact, after she requested the Life Support Pod, the two B-level Warriors in the passenger cabin were seriously considering what they should do.

During normal jumps, they wouldn’t consider getting into a Life Support Pod, but this time... better to be safe.

They were making preparations for jumping, the spacecraft cruising steadily for a while before suddenly maneuvering crazily.

As it maneuvered, it also accelerated, trying to reach the speed required for jumping.

”What’s going on?” The Star Thieves of the Banshen Snake Corps were equally surprised at the sight, ”The insider... hasn’t controlled the situation?”

”Open fire!” A masked man coldly commanded, ”Concentrate fire on the passenger cabin!”

The Star Thieves were mainly after supplies; blowing up the cargo hold would mean they’d have to painstakingly collect scattered goods.

But the passenger cabin didn’t matter, as most Life Support Pods were fixed to the spaceship.

Aside from those accidentally injured, most passengers would still become hostages.

The Banshen Snake Corps was quite famous in the area, but to take down just one spaceship, there was no need for an all-out effort.

Plus, with an insider lurking among them, they really only had two ships responsible for the kill.

The other ships were mostly for show, just put up a façade.

Among them, there were two ships with not-too-bad firepower, but their defense was ridiculously poor.

But the attacked ships didn’t have the guts to counterattack the Star Thieves, so the Star Thieves’ issue was merely whether they could block the opponent.

Seeing the attacked ship gradually accelerating, the masked man snorted coldly, ”Still dreaming of jumping?”

Actually, the opponent wasn’t just fleeing, they also fired back, but the counterattack was mostly automated, lacking accuracy.

Pan Yifu watched the rapidly accelerating spaceship, about to reach jump speed, finally letting out a sigh of relief.

However, just as the spaceship was about to begin jumping, four black shells were fired, each half a meter thick and over two meters long.

The shells weren’t very accurate, grazing past at over thirty kilometers away from the spaceship.

In space combat, at high speeds, a thirty-kilometer miss was already considered a near miss.

However, as these four shells flew by, a piercing alarm sounded on the spaceship.

”Gravitational Wave Interference Bullet detected, Gravitational Wave Interference Bullet detected!”

”Damn it!” came an angry curse from the control room of the spaceship, ”Which bastard sold this to the Star Thieves?”

The Gravitational Wave Interference Bullet is a very specialized type of shell, as the name suggests, it’s used to interfere with gravitational waves.

Gravitational waves can distort space and even time.

To put it simply, this type of shell is specially designed to disrupt jumps.

Because a jump itself is a kind of application of spatial distortion.

The mysteries of space and time are endless, and the interference effect of Gravitational Wave Interference Bullets often doesn’t work as expected.

If one isn’t enough, more can be fired; several bullets together would cause mutual interference.

The most economical combination is a four-sided figure with four interference bullets, quite stable but also most likely to interfere with each other.

Having explained the performance, let’s discuss the application, because such shells can pose risks to jumps, they are strictly controlled by the authorities.

Most likely to use such shells would be Customs Enforcement Divisions, to prevent smuggling ships from escaping.

However, even the Customs Enforcement Division uses them cautiously, with strict reviews for application and usage.

Then there are some elite military units, which need no further elaboration.

The technology level of Gravitational Wave Interference Bullets is high, but their cost isn’t particularly expensive.

Mainly, the official control is strict, the field of application is narrow, and it’s hard for the average person to obtain them.

However, that being said, many people haven’t seen Gravitational Wave Interference Bullets, but almost all standard spaceships can detect them.

Ultimately, these shells have too big an impact on regular spaceship flight.

Involving the distortion of space and time, once detonated, can cause effects even when the spaceship isn’t jumping.

At this moment, the Banshen Snake Corps actually launched a set of Gravitational Wave Interference Bullets, no wonder they cursed in anger here.

Clearly, some undisclosed deals existed between the Star Thieves and certain forces.

Again, the Gravitational Wave Interference Bullet’s technology is high, but it’s not very expensive, the key is tight control.

But at this point, the spaceship had no choice; it was about to jump, and changing plans was a bit late.

To forcibly change wasn’t impossible, but the spaceship had already entered a sub-jump status.

Leaving this state would face significant tearing forces.

Moreover, the Gravitational Wave Interference Bullet interferes with not only jumps but also the act of leaving a jump.

In essence, it affects space and time, but how exactly it will affect... can be considered a Schrodinger’s influence.

The Imperial’s research on gravitational wave interference bullets is still in its initial stages; they only know that it can take effect.

But the direction of its effect, as well as the consequences of that effect, truly no one can guarantee.

This is knowledge that Qu Jianlei doesn’t quite understand, unrelated to intelligence, purely because the level of information intake is too low.

But Pan Yifu is different; his technical knowledge is much less than Qu Jianlei’s, but his level of information is high!

He knew that the risk of transition at this moment was great, but halting the transition also bore risks, so he decisively ordered, ”Continue!”

The masked character silently observed the opponent’s spaceship.

When he saw a faint blue glow appear on the ship’s hull, followed by the hull beginning to distort slightly, with space wrinkles rippling outward like water waves, he couldn’t help but curse in astonishment, ”Madman!”

Then he shouted sternly, ”Detonate!”

His subordinates didn’t dare delay and decisively detonated four gravitational wave interference bullets.

The four interference bullets exploded almost simultaneously, releasing a series of bizarre waves, making the target spaceship distort even more intensely.

These waves were invisible to the naked eye, but everyone present inexplicably felt a nameless pressure.

Whether A-level warriors or ordinary people, without exception.

Someone couldn’t help but mutter, ”Isn’t the gravitational wave... supposed to be a tearing force?”

”Look at the grayscale waveform graph~” someone couldn’t help but shout out, ”It’s really spectacular.”

The grayscale waveform graph is specifically for observing various invisible waves and some visible light, with related field strength and spectrum settings.

The Star Thief Ship is mainly used for looting, and such specialized instruments are rare, but luckily this ship had one.

Various twisted curves appeared on the screen, differing in thickness and grayscale.

These curves constantly twisted and turned, not only did the grayscale change continuously, but the curves would also inexplicably disappear and appear frequently.

From time to time, one or several bright white glows would burst out.

Some of the white glow’s brightness values were extremely high and widespread, even affecting the entire screen.

There were also some elusive gray glows that could engulf many bright curves.

The Star Thieves didn’t have particularly skilled technicians, and seeing these changes, could only muster comments of ”spectacular.”

A typical sense of unknown awe—it is likely that anyone seeing this scene would have such thoughts.

The next moment, someone shouted, ”That ship, that ship... has disappeared!”

The severely distorted spaceship finally vanished from the Star Thief Ship’s view.

The grayscale waveform graph was still twisting continuously, but the energy response was gradually decreasing.

”The others... they really escaped?” some Star Thief couldn’t accept this outcome, ”Those were gravitational wave interference bullets!”

A light ”bang” sounded, a large hole appeared on his forehead.

The masked character slowly put away the laser pistol, glanced at the other Star Thieves, ”No idle chatter during wartime.”

”Is this considered escaping? The spaceship might have been torn apart, or it might have been sent to some unknown place... even the planetary core.”

In short, he didn’t believe he had made a wrong decision.

But inside the Star Thieves, there were indeed those unafraid of death; a man with a face full of scars raised his hand, ”Permission to speak.”

The masked character slightly raised his chin, ”Speak.”

The scarred-faced man spoke in a deep voice, ”We used four valuable gravitational wave interference bullets, merely to send them off, is it worth it?”

The Star Thieves are not only ruthless but also must calculate economically during looting; bullying the weak and fearing the strong is their characteristic.

The masked character chuckled lightly, ”Heh, do you think that Garbage Star can be provoked so easily?”

”No!” the scarred-faced man answered straightforwardly, ”They have more than one Supreme.”

If it weren’t for the inside informant this time, and the opposing ship traveling at sub-light speed, they wouldn’t have attempted this plan at all.

”We’ve already provoked them,” the masked character stated straightforwardly, ”Even if we let them go, would Garbage Star let us go?”

The scarred-faced man shook his head, ”No, but Garbage Star might not have the energy to pursue us, so why pay such a high price to silence them?”

The masked character replied blandly, ”It’s not just about silencing them; the Banshen Snake Corps’ reputation was built through fighting. Don’t we care about our reputation?”

”Reputation...” the scarred-faced man was speechless. Ascending to this height, what more could he say?

Qu Jianlei’s luck wasn’t too bad, or perhaps the whole crew’s luck wasn’t too bad; the spaceship surprisingly didn’t disintegrate during the transition.

But the coordinates were lost during the transition, so they could only randomly set an anchor point.

The anchor point couldn’t be too close, otherwise, they might not escape the Star Thieves, but it couldn’t be too far either—there weren’t enough energy blocks to sustain them.

When the spaceship exited the transition point, the captain and others in the cockpit received a notification and immediately opened the Life Support Pod.

Upon exiting the Life Support Pod, everyone was stunned; the spaceship was rapidly heading towards a planet!

”Damn, the gravitational wave interference is too great... we’re losing control and falling!”
