Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator

Little Red looked at the mental barrier enveloping the entire red wooden chest. If it weren’t for this barrier capable of blocking the corpse of the deity’s perception ability, Lin Ye would have been discovered by the corpse of the deity the moment he arrived here. The system probably wouldn’t have sent him here in the first place.

”That’s definitely a bit troublesome, but I still want to give it a try.”

With the help provided by the Leader, Lin Ye had no intention of giving up at all.

”Actually, you don’t need to... You know what I’m about to say.”

Little Red put down the dessert in her hand and said seriously.

”Yeah, I know. If I fail this Exploration Mission, the next one should be much simpler... But choices are incredibly important, and I can probably only make this kind of choice.”

Lin Ye’s talent ability was extremely dangerous, but he used it every single day because it was the ability assigned to him by the system. If he didn’t, it would affect the system’s judgment of him.

The same went for system missions. As a Survivor of the system, if he couldn’t complete system missions, his value would drop. That wasn’t a good thing.

The system might not necessarily eliminate Survivors with low ratings, but it wouldn’t care much about whether those kinds of Survivors lived or died either.

”Then I won’t disturb you while you complete the mission. If you go over there, even if I hide inside the chest, that corpse will find me.”With that, Little Red vanished, and so did all the dishes.

Lin Ye’s consciousness returned to the Alienated Body. He looked at Catherine and said:

”Ready?”

”Mm.”

Catherine nodded nervously.

”Then let’s begin. Open the portal.”

Lin Ye took the items the Leader had prepared for him. He didn’t bother learning about the mental barrier because information was relative. If he understood the mental barrier too well, then this barrier might no longer be able to isolate his Consciousness.

”May you have a smooth journey.”

The Leader opened the portal. It didn’t plan to go along because this world needed it to stay here.

”Don’t worry. I’ll resolve things as quickly as possible.”

One Alienated Body passed through the portal, but it was destroyed the instant it crossed over.

Lin Ye continued sending Alienated Bodies into the portal, constantly adjusting their physical structures along the way. With the Flesh Vessels providing ample reserves of flesh, he could keep trying for a long time.

It wasn’t until the tenth Alienated Body passed through the portal that Lin Ye sensed a faint connection.

This meant that particular Alienated Body hadn’t been completely destroyed.

Lin Ye immediately shifted to another Alienated Body with the same structure as Number Ten. He sent this Alienated Body directly through the portal.

After passing through the portal, Lin Ye’s mental energy rapidly weakened due to being far from his true body. But before losing consciousness, he managed to glimpse the situation on the other side.

”Hiss, that hurts so much...”

Lin Ye regained consciousness inside the chest. He used the mental defense system to move back into the Alienated Body outside.

The other side of the portal was pretty much what he had expected. Everywhere was filled with chaotic deity power, and that deity power had different properties.

Deity power was similar to rule power, but even more troublesome. Lin Ye could alienate a body capable of adapting to that environment temporarily. The problem was how to get his true body over there.

’...A bit troublesome.’

But it was only a bit troublesome.

Lin Ye quickly crafted a simple spiritual energy item using the ’Duke Fragment.’ He draped this robe over Catherine, and it fit perfectly.

He had to admit, without the Duke Fragment, it would have been hard for Lin Ye to find a solution so quickly. This kind of material—where a human Consciousness merged with a fragment of deity power—was still extremely rare.

”May I take this lady’s place and go in?”

The combat squad leader, who had been watching nearby, suddenly spoke up.

”Shut up! This is not something you can meddle in!”

The Leader just glanced at him, and the captain was pressed flat against the ground.

”That lady has never received any training. I can complete the mission in her place.”

The squad leader shouldn’t have talked back, but he didn’t want to miss even a single chance to save the world. In his view, Catherine might cause the plan to fail.

”You’ve used deity power before. If you go over there, you’ll definitely be affected. That’s why I’m taking Catherine with me.”

Lin Ye didn’t mind the guy’s attitude. These people had a lot of guts. Unlike them, he wouldn’t risk his life for a stranger in a strange place.

”So that’s how it is.”

The Leader probably understood why those previous people had gone missing. But even knowing that, it couldn’t train ordinary people to handle issues related to deities.

Lin Ye began modifying the body structures of those followers. He didn’t need these followers to fight. He needed them to become anchors for the Parasitism Network and the mental defense system over there.

After the modifications were complete, the followers lined up and entered the portal. When all the followers had passed through, Lin Ye said to Catherine:

”I’ll go in first to take a look. If I don’t come back within five seconds, bring my true body over.”

”Understood!”

Catherine was no longer nervous. The crushing pressure had made her mind go completely blank.

Lin Ye passed through the portal. This time, the other side had the Parasitism Network. Even if his true body wasn’t here, he could hold out for a while.

Five seconds later, Catherine also passed through the portal. Her movements and expression were both stiff.

”Relax. Just hold my true body and walk forward. Don’t worry about anything else.”

After spending a few seconds here, Lin Ye noticed a problem. Even with modified body structures, his Alienated Body couldn’t approach the corpse of the deity. Deity power was a troublesome kind of force, and the closer he got to the corpse, the stronger it became.

But Catherine was in a different situation. She was now very similar to those sacrificial offerings devoured by the corpse of the deity. Moreover, the Duke Robe helped her resist the erosion of the surrounding deity power.

So Catherine actually found it easier than the Alienated Body to get close to the corpse of the deity.

”...Walk forward? What is forward?”

Catherine turned her head stiffly. Everything around her was challenging her perception. Just staying here, she could no longer confirm the concept of ’forward.’

”...That is indeed asking too much of you. Alright, just follow behind me. Can you do that?”

The scene Lin Ye perceived wasn’t much better than Catherine’s. The deity power accumulated here was on a completely different level from what those followers had used.

Here, only by relying on the power of the Rule Fragments could he barely distinguish the things around him.
