The Return Of The Exiled Villain

Gray stood still for a moment.

His hand was still resting against the bedframe, splinters of wood trailing down his palm from the earlier slam.

”...Jasmine.”

The name left his lips in a breath, like a strange mix of disbelief and mockery.

The goddess flinched just slightly as there was something strange in the way he said her name, like... he was strangely mocking her.

He tilted his head ever so slightly, his dark eyes locked onto her.

”...You said this was an inheritance dungeon.”

Her pale brows rose faintly, unsure where he was going with this.

”So,” Gray continued, his voice was calm... too calm.

”What kind of inheritance does the ’worthy one’ receive, Jasmine?”

Her lips parted softly, glowing eyes narrowing a fraction.

”...As I am now... weakened... You would only receive the Blessing of Beauty,” she said, with a flicker of reluctance. ”Its effects would enhance your appearance, presence... charm... but nothing more. Not yet.”

As soon as she reluctantly uttered those words, the place fell silent.

Until... it was interrupted by Gray’s low chuckle

”Kekeke...”

Her eyes instantly sharpened.

”...Gray?”

”Keh... heh... hehehehe...”

His laughter was unhinged, almost shaky, like glass cracking under pressure. She instinctively sat up straighter, her back pressed against the velvet headboard.

His shoulders twitched, his hands trembling at his sides, but not with fear.

With complete raw fury.

And suddenly... the laughter stopped completely.y

His face turned blank, completely dead. He stared at her like a man who had just been told his life had no meaning.

And then he spoke, his voice flat, his eyes staring straight into hers:

”Ahhh...”

”...So I risked my life... went through all that blood... all that pain... for a useless inheritance?”

Her lips parted slightly, unsure what to say, but she couldn’t even begin to speak before...

BAAG!

Gray picked up the chair he had sat on before and flung it across the room.

CRAAASH!

The chair exploded against the far wall, wood shattering like bones under pressure. One of its legs snapped in half and ricocheted into a dresser, splintering it open with a sharp crack.

”FUCK!”

He yelled, voice ripping from his throat.

”You mean to tell me that all I get is a fucking glow-up?! After everything... I FUCKING DID TO SURVIVE?!”

Jasmine flinched again as he stormed across the room, knocking over the tea table with a violent sweep of his arm.

CRASH!

The cups shattered, tea spilled like blood across the marble floor, soaking into the crushed pastries and broken porcelain.

”Do you think I give a fuck about looking good?! Do you think I care about charm or aura or whatever bullshit passive stat buff you’re trying to hand me?!”

He spun back toward her, breathing heavily, eyes wide and burning.

”You call yourself a goddess? You made a dungeon filled with death and despair just to hand out beauty points?!”

Jasmine stared at him, tense, her lips trembling, her body still pressed against the headboard.

Yet, beneath her fear, beneath her tension...

Something else flickered in her eyes... a strange, dangerous glint.

Like she was watching a storm... not trying to stop it... but wondering what it would destroy next.

Gray stopped again, chest heaving, fists trembling.

He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, blood smearing faintly across his cheek from earlier.

He dragged one hand through his sweat-drenched hair and stared at the wreckage he’d made.

The chair was in pieces, the tea set had been completely crushed, and finally... the goddess was still on the bed, with the same glow enveloping her body.

Then, he finally spoke again, his dead eyes staring directly at her soul.

”...I didn’t come here to be pretty.”

”I came here to get power... to get my fucking revenge...”

Jasmine said nothing.

But her eyes, glowing like dying stars, watched him closely now.

Carefully... almost... curiously.

She slowly reached up and tucked a strand of silver hair behind her ear, then licked the blood from the corner of her lip.

”...And if I told you...”

She spoke quietly, voice low and laced with something that almost resembled temptation.

”...That Beauty is simply the first step of my blessing.”

Gray turned his head slowly, his eyes flicking back to her.

”...Then you better start talking fast.”

His voice was quiet, but the threat was loud.

Jasmine nodded slightly, making herself more comfortable on the bed, steadying her breath before her eyes locked with Gray’s.

”...You asked what kind of inheritance I offer,” she said softly, her voice was now slower and deeper, as if trying to entice him.

Gray’s eyes narrowed, but he didn’t speak. His arms were crossed, jaw still tight, body tense from his earlier outburst.

Jasmine raised a single, delicate hand and brushed her hair from her glowing eyes.

”The first... is Beauty.”

Gray scoffed.

”You already said that—”

She raised a finger, silencing him without effort.

”Not just appearance,” she whispered.

”Not just charm or presence.”

Her eyes seemed to shimmer more brightly now, having a strange, subtle glow that pulsed like a heartbeat.

”It’s seduction in its purest form. Power through allure. A weapon so soft it bleeds without a blade. A curse so divine it kills with a single look.”

Gray blinked, confused by her words.

She smiled faintly.

”I’ve had gods slaughter their own families just to taste my touch. I’ve watched them burn their cities to the ground because their wives caught a glimpse of my smile. And when I walked through temples... entire crowds wept. Their hearts couldn’t bear the weight of desire.”

Gray’s lips parted slightly, but he didn’t interrupt.

”Beauty isn’t weak,” she said, her voice now like velvet laced with iron.

”It’s the quietest kind of despair. It makes men forget, it blinds reason, and it even rots loyalty. And when wielded properly...”

She leaned forward just slightly, her glowing gaze piercing into him.

”It can kill faster than any sword.”

Gray swallowed once, but forced himself to scoff again.

”...Fine. So what? A little lust magic and some sob stories. You said you were the Goddess of Beauty and Destruction.”

His eyes flicked up, sharper now.

”So talk.”

There was a pause as soon as he said those words, her smile slowly faded... and something about her changed completely.

The glow around her body began to darken, like her very light was collapsing in on itself.

”...Destruction,” she echoed.

Then the room felt colder.

Even the red veins along the ceiling seemed to pulse slowly with a deeper color, not crimson, but some kind of blackened blood.

”Destruction is not fire,” she said. ”Not storms. Not swords or explosions.”

”It is the unraveling of order.”

Her voice deepened slightly, as though layered by something ancient.

”It is silence swallowing sound. Light fading to nothing. Minds collapsing into madness before their thoughts can finish forming.”

Gray’s spine straightened, his breath caught halfway in his chest.

”I was once able to erase stars with a wave,” Jasmine whispered. ”Snuff out a soul... with a glance.”

Her white eyes burned brighter.

”It is not violence. It is completion. An end to what should never have existed.”

She placed a hand over her chest.

”That is what I once was.”

Gray was silent for a moment, his heart thudding in his ears.

”...You lost all that?”

She nodded slowly.

”Yes. But I can take it back.”

Her gaze lifted, locking onto his once again.

”With your help.”

”...What?”

He frowned deeply.

Jasmine stood now, slowly, gracefully. Her feet touched the cold marble floor, and the shadows behind her seemed to stir.

She stepped closer, every movement fluid, like flowing water mixed with smoke.

”Each trial of the inheritance dungeon... tests the soul,” she said.

”And when someone reaches the end, their Origin, their deepest trait, the root of their power, is revealed.”

She stood directly before him now, lifting her hand near his chest.

”And when that happens... I can absorb it.”

Gray took a small step back... of caution, after all, with power or now, the woman in front of him was still a goddess.

”You mean... you kill them?”

Her expression was neutral, but her answer was immediate.

”Yes.”

She continued softly and slowly.

”But you... you didn’t die. You didn’t break. You clawed your way to the end, teeth bared and blood trailing behind you.”

”And in those moments...” her voice grew quieter ”...I saw something.”

Her glowing eyes narrowed slightly.

”You... are deeply connected to Destruction. It clings to your soul. It breathes with you.”

Then she stepped forward, only a breath between them.

”You are the perfect vessel.”

There was a long, heavy silence.

Then, at last, she spoke again, voice laced with dark velvet.

”So, here’s my offer: A temporary deal. You help me regain my strength. In return, I give you my blessing. A shard of my divinity. Destruction, Beauty... both.”

”And in time... when I’m whole again...”

She raised her chin slightly.

”I’ll make you my heir. My chosen. My only.”

The silence that followed was different.

Not heavy or expectant... it was just quiet.

And that was mainly because Gray didn’t move. He didn’t utter a single word, nor did he even blink... he was just staring straight into her eyes,

Finally, his expression had changed again.

Blank, emotionless... almost absent.

And just as Jasmine tilted her head... Gray’s lips slowly curled up.

Into that same devilish smirk.
