The Snake God with SSS Rank Evolution System

Lilith’s crimson eyes held Isolde’s gaze as she spoke, her voice soft but carrying weight. ”That’s what they called it.”

Isolde’s pale eyes widened. Her lips parted, then closed. When she spoke again, her voice was quieter—almost reverent.

”So it’s true. That dungeon... it really did birth anomalies.” She shook her head slowly, her crimson hair shifting against her shoulders. ”I’d heard rumors, but I didn’t believe them. Dungeons like that aren’t supposed to exist anymore.”

Ignis tilted her head, flames flickering with curiosity. ”Hee? Is that dungeon really that famous?”

Isolde’s gaze drifted to the cocoon, where Adam’s evolution was nearing its end. Her voice was distant, almost dreamy.

”That dungeon is dangerous. The mana there is dense—thick as honey, they say. It pools in the depths, feeding whatever creatures are born there.” She paused, her brow furrowing. ”And it’s also the tomb of someone who once shook the world.”

Ignis’s eyes went wide. ”A tomb? Whose tomb?”

Before Isolde could answer, the cocoon shuddered.

Light spilled through the silken walls, illuminating the clearing in silver-gold radiance. The threads pulsed once, twice, then began to unravel.

Isolde’s head snapped toward the cocoon, her pale eyes narrowing. Lilith rose gracefully, her silver-threaded gown settling around her. Ignis scrambled to her feet, flames flaring with excitement.

”He’s done!”

The cocoon fell away in shreds, dissolving into wisps of silver thread that scattered on the wind. And there, standing in the center of the fading light, was Adam.

He was taller. His frame, already lean and powerful, had filled out—broader shoulders, a deeper chest, the kind of build that spoke of coiled strength barely contained. His skin, pale as moonlight, seemed to shimmer faintly with an inner luminescence. His horns, once dark and sleek, had grown more elaborate—sweeping back from his temples like a crown of obsidian, their surfaces etched with faint, glowing runes that pulsed in time with his heartbeat.

His wings unfurled behind him, broader and more majestic than before. Each membrane was threaded with silver veins that caught the light, the bones stronger, the span wider. When he stretched them, the air itself seemed to tremble.

And his crimson eyes burned brighter than ever, flecked with gold, sharp and majestic.

Adam took a breath, and the air around him seemed to sigh. He rolled his shoulders, testing the new strength coiled in his muscles. His horns caught the fading light, the runes along their length pulsing softly.

Lilith’s crimson eyes swept over him, lingering on his broader shoulders, his more defined jaw, the way his new horns framed his face like a crown. Her voice was soft, almost breathless.

”You’re more handsome than before, Adam.”

Adam’s lips curved into a faint smile. His voice, when it came, was deeper—resonant, carrying an echo that hadn’t been there before.

”Thanks, Lilith.”

Ignis bounced on her heels, flames crackling with excitement. ”Ooh! Ooh! You look so cool, Adam! Your horns are bigger! And your wings! They’re so pretty!”

Adam glanced back at his wings, flexing them experimentally. The silver-threaded membranes shimmered in the fading light.

”Hmm. They feel... lighter.”

Adam blinked as the notification scrolled across his vision. He flexed his hand, feeling the subtle shift in his body—the way his regeneration seemed to hum beneath his skin, constant and effortless.

”Looks like I don’t need Blooming Vitality anymore,” he murmured, almost to himself. ”The trait covers it now.”

Lilith tilted her head, her crimson eyes curious. ”What do you mean?”

Adam touched his chest, where his heart beat steady and strong.

”Blooming Vitality was an active skill. I had to trigger it to heal quickly. Now...” He shrugged. ”Now it’s just part of me.” A faint smile crossed his lips. ”And I got a permanent vitality boost from the conversion.”

Ignis bounced on her heels, flames flickering with excitement. ”So you’re even harder to kill now?!”

Adam’s smile widened. ”Apparently.”

Isolde watched from the shadows of her hood, her pale eyes sharp. She said nothing, but her internal voice was cold, calculating.

’Regeneration that never stops. A body that automatically purges toxins and curses. And he can still trigger an even faster healing if he’s willing to burn his life force.’ Her fingers curled into fists beneath her cloak. ’This man is becoming something that shouldn’t exist.’

Adam’s gaze found her, and he tilted his head.

”Something on your mind?”

Isolde’s jaw tightened. She looked away.

”...No.”

Adam shot Isolde a strange look, then let it go. A moment later, another notification appeared from the system.

Adam stood amidst the fading glow of his evolution, the system notifications scrolling across his vision in a cascade of blue light. His eyes widened slightly as he read through the list.

”All my skills went up,” he murmured, flexing his fingers. Dark energy curled around his knuckles—stronger, denser, more responsive than before. ”Abyssal Pierce and Tempest Sovereign hit max level. Venom of the Void too.” He glanced at his hands, then at the surrounding forest. ”I wonder what kind of damage I can do now.”

Lilith drifted closer, her silver-threaded gown brushing against the grass. Her crimson eyes studied him with quiet intensity.

”Your aura feels different, Adam. Heavier. More... settled.”

Adam met her gaze. ”It’s the evolution. Ouroboros Progenitor focuses on vitality and regeneration, but it also...” He paused, searching for words. ”It’s like my foundation is stronger. Everything else got pulled up with it.”

Ignis bounced on her heels, flames flickering with impatience. ”Can we test it? Can we fight something? I want to see!”

Adam’s lips curved into a faint smile. ”Soon.” Then his gaze drifted to the pile of wyvern meat Lilith had carefully stacked on large leaves, and the cluster of glowing cores Ignis had retrieved. ”First, let’s not waste what we earned.”

He walked toward the pile, crouching beside it. His hand hovered over the meat—strips of dark, glistening flesh, still fresh from Lilith’s careful butchering.

”Pouch of the Hoarding Gnome.”

The small leather pouch at his belt pulsed. Its opening expanded, and a soft, pulling sensation emanated from it. One by one, the strips of wyvern meat rose into the air, as if lifted by invisible hands, and slid into the pouch’s depths. The pile diminished rapidly, each piece disappearing into the extra-dimensional space.

Ignis watched with wide eyes, her mouth watering.

”So much meat... all in that tiny pouch...”

Lilith’s lips curved into a serene smile. ”It’s quite useful, isn’t it?”

Adam grunted in acknowledgment, not looking up from his task. Within moments, the entire meat pile was gone. He straightened and turned to the cluster of wyvern cores.

They lay scattered across the moss—pale grey orbs, some dark with veins of charcoal, pulsing with faint, residual energy. He picked one up, turning it over in his palm. The surface was smooth, cool to the touch, and he could feel the lingering mana within.

Adam’s eyebrows rose. ”Seven of them. Not bad.” He swept his hand over the cluster, and one by one, the cores lifted and vanished into the pouch alongside the meat.

”The hide?” he asked, glancing at Lilith.

She shook her head delicately. ”Too damaged for armor, as I said. Not worth the space.”

Adam nodded, satisfied. He fastened the pouch to his belt and turned to face the others.

Ignis’s flames flickered eagerly as she eyed where the meat had been. ”Alright! Let’s eat! I’m starving!”

Isolde’s voice cut through, sharp and urgent. ”No. This isn’t the time to rest here. We should continue our journey and find a safer place to stop. This forest is still dangerous.”

Ignis’s face fell. Her flames dimmed slightly, a pout forming on her lips. ”But I’m hungry! And we’re not in a hurry, are we?”

Adam watched the exchange, his crimson eyes thoughtful. His gaze drifted to Isolde—the way her pale fingers clenched beneath her cloak, the tension in her shoulders, the barely concealed impatience in her voice.

’She wants to move quickly,’ he thought, studying her. ’Not because of the danger here, but because she wants our business in Kaelthar finished as soon as possible. The compass, the Wasteland—none of that matters to her. She’s just waiting for us to be done so we can finally focus on what she really cares about.’ He tilted his head, considering. ’Finding the humans who killed her students. Every delay must feel like a betrayal of their memories to her.’

He let out a soft breath.

”Alright. We’ll continue moving.”

Ignis’s head snapped toward him, her eyes wide with dismay. ”Ehh?! But Adam—”

Adam raised a hand, cutting her off. His voice was calm, but firm.

”We’ll keep flying. But you can eat.” He reached into the Pouch of the Hoarding Gnome and withdrew a bundle wrapped in cloth—the leftover food from their previous meals. Dried meat, hard bread, a few pieces of fruit. He pressed it into Ignis’s hands. ”Eat this while we travel. You can rest on my back.”

Ignis stared at the bundle, then at Adam. Her flames flickered with a mix of gratitude and disappointment.

”But... the wyvern meat...”

”We’ll cook it tonight,” Adam said. ”When we’ve found a safer place to camp. I promise.”

Ignis’s pout softened. She hugged the bundle to her chest, nodding reluctantly.

”Okay...”

Adam’s lips curved into a faint smile. He stepped back from the group, rolling his shoulders as the air around him began to shift and crackle with energy.

”I’ll fly this time. You rest, Ignis.”

His body convulsed—bones lengthening, muscles reshaping, scales rippling across his skin in dark, glistening waves. His wings, already broad, folded into his back as his entire form expanded, growing, twisting, transforming.

Within moments, where Adam had stood, a massive serpentine dragon now loomed.

The Ouroboros Progenitor.

His body was long and sinuous, coiled with power, covered in scales the color of midnight streaked with veins of silver that pulsed faintly with inner light. A row of curved spines ran along his spine, from the crown of his horned head to the tip of his tail. His wings—enormous, leathery, threaded with the same silver luminescence—spread wide, casting vast shadows across the clearing. His crimson eyes, flecked with gold, surveyed his companions with an intelligence that was unmistakably Adam’s.

A low rumble emanated from his chest with something almost like a chuckle.

”Climb on.”

Ignis’s eyes went wide, her flames flaring with excitement. ”Whoa! You look amazing, Adam!”

She scrambled onto his back without hesitation, settling between the ridges of his spine, her small form almost lost against his massive scale. She clutched the bundle of food to her chest, beaming.

Lilith glided to his side, her silver-threaded gown brushing against his scales. Her crimson eyes swept over his transformed body with quiet appreciation.

”Magnificent, Adam.”

She climbed up behind Ignis, her movements fluid and graceful, settling against the curve of his spine.

Isolde hesitated at the edge of the clearing. Her pale eyes traced the length of his serpentine body, the span of his wings, the glow of his rune-etched horns. Something flickered across her face—awe, perhaps, or fear.

Then she climbed up behind Lilith, pulling her hood low.

Adam’s massive wings beat once, twice, and they lifted into the air with a power that shook the trees below.

The wind rushed past them, cool and clean. The forest shrank beneath Adam’s shadow, the wyvern lord’s corpse fading into the darkness. He flew toward the horizon, his long body undulating through the air with serpentine grace, each wingbeat carrying them miles across the sky.

Behind him, Ignis chewed her bread, her flames casting warm light across Adam’s silver-threaded scales.

Lilith leaned against his spine, her arms wrapped loosely around Ignis’s waist, her crimson eyes half-closed in contentment.

And Isolde sat in silence, her pale eyes fixed on the path ahead, her thoughts already lost in the past.
