Alchemy Emperor of the Divine Dao

Chapter 3866: Mysterious Kidnapper “I was on the last shift. When I changed shifts, I counted the number of people, and there still wasn’t anyone missing,” someone said.

But the problem was, when he was on shift, he did not discover the slightest bit of abnormality. It was just when it was almost dawn, and he counted heads again, he discovered that there were suddenly three people missing.

How was this possible?

He could clearly see that there was definitely not a single person approaching from the surroundings, what more kidnapping three people soundlessly.

Everyone’s expressions were ugly. Though the three people who had been kidnapped were not all that strong, they were still Cauldron Forging Tier, and they had actually been kidnapped before they could even make a sound. Just how powerful was the culprit?

What if… it was their turn tonight?

At present, they could still crush their tokens and leave, but if they were taken down in a single move, then their lives would completely be out of their control. “Don’t panic. Everyone, stay alert tonight. We must find the reason,” Li Zisuan said, his expression calm, making everyone calm down.

However, no one knew just how anxious he was.

They continued onwards. A day had passed, and their team had epanded again. Not only had five lone travellers joined them, there were also two teams. Their numbers had exceeded ten, so the total number of their group had exceeded fifty.

As the leader, Li Zisuan was both a little vain and anxious. F*ck, if he was exposed, that would be a huge joke. There would probably be too many people who wanted to tear him to pieces.

It was night, and everyone was gathered around the bonfire. The atmosphere was slightly oppressive. “According to yesterday’s situation, the person should have suddenly disappeared when it was close to dawn, so there’s no need for everyone to be so nervous now.” “That’s right. If we stay tense all night, we won’t have the energy to travel during the day. Furthermore, how are we going to spend tomorrow night?” “Everyone, relax.”

That was what he said, but who would want to disappear so soundlessly?

Some people deliberately joked, but only a few responded. The atmosphere was still very awkward.

Time passed second by second, but everyone felt that time was especially slow. Why was it that only half an hour had passed after such a long time?

One hour, two hours, everyone was counting the time.

Unknowingly, a sliver of white had appeared in the east.

Ling Han looked like he was meditating with his eyes closed, but his divine sense was spread out. Previously, though he had maintained vigilance, it was only directed at himself. This time was different. His divine sense had enveloped the entire area. ‘It’s here!’

With a thought, his eyes suddenly snapped open.

The eye technique activated, and he saw the flow of sand forming some kind of rhythm.

A man fell forward soundlessly, as if he had suddenly dozed off. However, before he fell headfirst, his body actually sank into the sand. Like a clay ox sinking into the sea, he disappeared extremely quickly. “Humph!”

Ling Han dashed out, stretching out his right hand to grab that person’s left shoulder.

However, the speed at which this person was descending had far exceeded Ling Han’s expectations. Before Ling Han could catch him, that person had already completely disappeared into the sand.

Strangely, there wasn’t any crater left on the ground, and it was as smooth as before.

Ling Han’s action instantly alerted the others. They all looked over, and they all saw the last scene of that person sinking into the sand.

What the hell?

Ling Han charged over, directly tearing open the sand, and charged downwards.

His speed was extremely fast, and his hands were like sharp blades, forcibly squeezing the sand in front of him to either side, opening up a passageway.

He had locked onto the life force of the person in front of him all this while, and this had become his guiding light.

However, the mysterious abductor seemed to have realized this as well. All of a sudden, this aura of life disappeared.

Ling Han chased for about another 5km, then suddenly stopped.

He had lost him.

He returned to the ground, yet his expression became even uglier. That was because when he had been pursuing, another two people had sunk into the sand, and thus disappeared. Now, he had found the method of how the culprit had executed the kidnapping. He had launched an attack from the bottom of the sand, and had used some unknown method to knock the victim out. Then, he would drag him into the sand and bring him away from below the ground surface.

He did know, but the crux of the matter was, how was he supposed to resolve this problem?

The crux of the matter lay in what method this mysterious culprit had used to knock someone unconscious?

As for whether the victim would be steamed or braised after he had been kidnapped, that was a completely different matter. “Ling Han, how is it?” Li Zisuan asked Ling Han. By now, he was already very engrossed in his new role.

Ling Han shook his head.

Everyone was disappointed. Ling Han was the first to discover the abnormality, and was also the first to chase after the culprit. Even he couldn’t catch up to the culprit, which naturally made everyone’s mood worse. “What do we do now?”

Everyone looked towards Li Zisuan. This was their backbone, and now, it was naturally up to him to decide.

Li Zisuan thought to himself that he was also terrified, so how could he have any good ideas?

He thought for a moment, then said, “We have to quickly walk out of this desert.”

This was nonsense. He had not thought that it would win everyone’s general agreement.

As long as they walked out of the desert, it was naturally impossible for the mysterious culprit to charge out of the ground again.

Everyone set out, speeding up, wanting to leave this place as soon as possible.

However, while their wishes were beautiful, reality was cruel. One day passed, and they still couldn’t walk out. Instead, the scale of their team expanded again. “Let’s go. We’ll continue our journey at night.”

Experience from the past few days told them that this desert was only large now, and there was no longer any danger like a great storm. Thus, they could completely journey at night. Instead, it was stopping here that was dangerous. Didn’t they see how many people had disappeared in the last few nights?

No one had any objections, and they all continued their journey.

On the way, no one made a sound, as if they were afraid of attracting the mysterious culprit.

However-

One of them was running, but when his foot landed, it was as if the pile of sand had turned into empty air, and his whole person had sunk in. “Ah-” That person instantly exclaimed in shock, but his voice came to an abrupt stop. He had already fallen into a coma.

This time, Ling Han could see very clearly. A hand stretched out from the sand, grabbed that person’s ankle, and then pulled that person into the sand.

Judging by the size of the hand and the smoothness of the skin, it should be a female hand.

As he thought this, Ling Han didn’t hesitate at all. He immediately unleashed a murderous aura.

He had succeeded.

The woman couldn’t see it, but the person who had sunk into the sand suddenly paused, leaving his head exposed.

Ling Han leaped over, grabbed the man’s head, and pulled him out first. However, when he dug up the sand, there was no sign of the culprit.

She had still fled!

Ling Han frowned, slightly displeased.

But a round of applause rang out all around him. He swept his gaze around, and saw that everyone was indescribably excited.

This was their first victory after clashing with the mysterious culprit. No one was kidnapped by the latter, which gave everyone a strong confidence.
