Chapter 1618: The True Ruler of Hell

Eris looked at Amaterasu for a second, quickly getting confused about something. Usually, she would float above everyone to look down on them, but now, she was floating just an inch above the ground beside her, which is weird.

”Shouldn’t you be like... five meters up?”

Amaterasu smiled.

”We’re both suns. You might be significantly smaller than me, but I’m the one who said it. A sun is a sun, no matter how small or big.”

Her eyes shifted and looked down at the brood mother. ”As long as she is beneath us, it’s all fine.”

The brood mother was shaking. She never expected that a day in her life would come when she would meet a god, let alone Amaterasu herself. The all-mighty red sun above the paradise.

If Amaterasu was known for anything besides her raw power, it’s that out of all the gods, she is the most famous and infamous here in hell. Because Asmodeus, the twin rulers of the nine hells, are her Archons.

Right behind Amaterasu, the twin rulers of hell had already arrived and were kneeling on the ground.

Everyone imagines devils, large monsters, or Asmodeus when they think about hell and its suffering. The image of a red devil pinning a screaming sinner into a grill with his sharp trident is a common thought. But what no one thinks about, what no one in the billion worlds of the universe thinks about is that the merciful and bright sun, the divine goddess giving them life and warmth is the actual ruler of hell, the everlasting warden.

”I left Beelzebub in the war; she didn’t know anything about what was going on, so Nyar must’ve made his move after she left.” Amaterasu turned toward the twin rulers of hell.

”It couldn’t be helped, but you two still made a mistake. Thanks to that, both Nyar and Entropy got a chance to mess things up.”

Eris frowned.

”So Beelzebub isn’t even here? I came here for nothing then.” She growled and looked down at the brood mother. ”What should I do with her?”

Amaterasu shrugged. ”We still have a lot of things that we can do. But first, I must deal with a few things.” She leaned back and rested on the air. ”I’ll look into the tenth circle. You two, you know what to do, right?”

The twin rulers of hell approached her, each grabbing a foot, and they started vigorously sucking on her toes. Amaterasu blushed as she exhaled with an excited grin. ”Ah, you two are good at it. I don’t even know if this is a punishment or reward at this point.”

Eris stared at the twin rulers of hell, then at Amaterasu, confused and flabbergasted. ”Do you need to do this? Do we even have the time?”

Amaterasu looked moaned and then turned toward Eris. ”Of course we do. I get them punished. They enjoy themselves. I get to relax a bit. You and that spider get to see them in a funny state.” She licked her lips.

”And about time, we have it. I also need time to open a portal to the tenth layer. I’ll cause a lot of destruction if I hurry.” She looked at the twin rulers of hell and shoved her toes deep into their mouths.

”They also need it.”

She reached and put her hand on Eris’s head. ”Do you feel it? My divine magic can directly flow into you.”

Eris could feel the surge the moment Amaterasu put her hand on her. Her power rapidly increased and gained more divine magic in seconds than she had in days.

”Through touch, gods can share their divine magic.” She shifted her down. ”I’m giving those two a large amount of my divine magic to reinforce hell, so something like this won’t happen again. As it happened, sucking my toes requires them to touch me, so it works perfectly.”

She reached down toward Eris and whispered.

”Besides, those two really love this. Each time I try giving them divine magic, it ends up like this. But I don’t blame them, I’m me after all.” She giggled and moaned again, closing her eyes and letting the twins do their thing.

After several long minutes of slurping and moaning, the two finally screamed and stopped sucking on Amaterasu’s toes. By that time, Eris was already exhausted of their weirdness and was about to leave on her own. She came here to look for a way to free Arad, not deal with the gods’ twisted weirdness.

”Did you two finish?” Amaterasu smiled. ”Well then, reinforce the barriers between the layers, add more guards, and scan each layer for any trace of the abominations. Send me all the details, down to how many bathroom breaks the guards take.”

She smiled. ”We need to know who’s working for Nyar and who’s on our side.”

The twins nodded, and one of them spoke. ”We’ll get it done. With all this divine magic, we can even plug the holes between the eighth and seventh layer with ease.”

The other twin looked at Eris.

”And repair all of this mess. Next time, please don’t summon a sun here. You can rampage as much as you want in hell as a demi-goddess or a mortal, but remember that your limiters are unlocked here and you’re a true goddess now.”

Eris looked around. She did go overboard; she didn’t need to destroy so much land to win. She forgot that the only place the gods can go all out freely is the void of outer space, outside the boundaries of the universe.

The twins started floating. ”We’ll leave now. Work won’t do itself.”

But before the two could leave, Amaterasu stopped them. ”Wait, did I say you can leave?” She looked around, then her eyes stopped at the brood mother.

”I did humiliate you two here in front of her after all.” She lifted her hand and pulled them slightly down. Then, she reached forward and started kissing and sucking on their toes. She did it just as vigorously as they did, but stopped after just a while since they were pressed for time.

”Now we’re somewhat even, we’ll play later, but now, it’s time for work.” She watched as the twin rulers of hell flew away.

”Do you know how strange and weird it is to see you out of all people doing that?” Eris stared at her with a disappointed face.

”Do you know what’s the best part about being arguably the strongest goddess? I can do whatever I want, and no one complains.” She shrugged. ”Also, people take my actions for arrogance. I’m not arrogant, just aware of my standing and power. You don’t need to match my power or defeat me to respect you. For example, those two are far weaker than I am, but they take care of hell for me. I’ll carry them on my head.”

Eris rubbed her eyes. ”Forget it, I can’t understand how your head works. Let’s go.”

Amaterasu nodded.

”By the way, they already got something done. Now hell doesn’t just have one Devil Lord per layer, but it can also have a substitute Devil Lord as well that can take over when the True Devil Lord leaves.” She smiled, licking her lips. ”See, told you those two are worth everything.”

She turned around and looked at the brood mother. ”The spots will be decided through fighting later. But, do you want me to give you a spot right now?”

The brood mother didn’t respond for a long while, but then gasped. ”What? Me?”

”Who else? Ah, but let me be clear, you won’t get your disgusting lips anywhere near my feet. I don’t let just anyone touch my body.” She waved her hand, and the brood mother felt a huge rush of power coursing through her veins. Her power grew several times, and she could feel her soul getting linked to the whole layer.

”By the way, earlier, when I touched Eris’s head, I gave her over a hundred times more divine magic than I gave you cursed magic. Next time, make sure you aren’t attacking a god, because not everyone is as gentle as her.”

With that, Eris and Amaterasu flew away and disappeared like ghosts.

”I thought hell only had nine layers.” Eris asked, and Amaterasu smiled.

”Of course, it only has nine. The tenth layer isn’t counted; there are no sinners there and no devils. It’s a wasteland, a single cell that was used to chain Lucifer at some point in time. If Nyar played any tricks around him worth my time, he’ll be hiding beneath that cell.”
