The dragon's harem

Chapter 1558: Cursed Blood

”I somewhat understand, but that wonʼt explain why you didnʼt tell us youʼre leaving.” Ginger glared at Violet and just got a smile, ”At the time, I didnʼt know what was going to happen. Since the pregnancy moved too fast, I even expected that I would probably die giving birth, if any of the children made it.” She smiled, ”And believe me, the last thing you want is me dying in this world and destroying it whole.”

The entire mortal world was stored inside Violetʼs stomach.

This statement made Ginger and Alcott assume that Violet had to give the world to someone else to hold while she recovered, to assure it doesnʼt die with her, and thatʼs why she had to leave. But in reality, had to make sure Arad was born safely, even if it was at the expense of his twin, Gojo.

”But...” she pointed at Alcottʼs mother. ”I did come to visit when I could. To my surprise, even if I was using this remote-controlled doll, she sniffed me out.”

Alcottʼs mother laughed, ”The way you walk, how your eyes move, how you breathe, and how you talk.” She pointed at Violet, ”I can smell you.”

”The moment she saw my doll, she figured it was me.” She looked at Alcott with a smile, ”It seems your mother has stronger senses than you.”

Alcott shrugged, ”Who do you think taught me how to fight? Anger her, and sheʼll make you cry.”

Alcottʼs mom laughed, waved her hand, and slowly walked away, leaning on her cane. ”Iʼm just an old hag. I can barely take care of myself, and Iʼve only got my gut feeling working fine. Anyway, itʼs time for my nap, so you two better go fight somewhere else.”

As she left, Ginger glared at Violet for a while, ”Yeah, weʼd better head somewhere else and discuss how you came back here as a maid.”

Violet laughed, ”Does it matter? It was I who left you with Alcott in the first place. Had I stayed, you wouldʼve lived until now as our little vampire servant.”

Ginger stared at her and then turned toward Alcott, ”What do you have to say?”

Alcott looked at them, sighed, and started leaving, ”You donʼt want me to have a say in this. Decide on your own.”

As he left, Ginger and Violet were left alone. Soon, they flew away and settled in a desolate wasteland to the south.

Violet looked around and then smiled, ”I have a question for you. What do you think Alcott will do?”

Ginger smiled, ”Heʼll kick the one who complains the most. If I wanted you out, and I won. Heʼll leave me and stay with you. The same with you, if you forced me out, heʼll kick and come to me.”

Violet burst laughing, ”I see, in those years, you got to know him well.” She then looked at her, ”I say we agree to stay together. I was the first wife, so you shouldnʼt have a problem with me suggesting this.”

Ginger frowned, ”Iʼve got a lot of problems with what you said, but I agree that we should stick here together.” She lifted her hand and extended her claws out, ”Doesnʼt mean I wonʼt teach you a painful lesson. It wasnʼt wise to leave without saying a single word.”

Violet looked at Ginger with a gentle smile, ”I believe you know now that I wasnʼt serious before. When we fought years ago, Iʼm sure you only remember me as a regular wizard.”

”I now know youʼre a void drakaina, probably older and stronger than Arad.” Gingerʼs eyes burned red, ”But you still got blood, kneel.”

Violet didnʼt even budge. ”I see, trying to use blood magic. I indeed have blood, and your magic can indeed affect me. But what will you do with me sitting on you?”

Both of them were standing, which confused Ginger, ”Youʼre not sitting on me.”

”No, Iʼm. Look.” Violet waved her hand, and Ginger suddenly found herself on the ground with Violet sitting on her stomach. ”Sorry, Ginger. But Iʼm not someone you can fight. Iʼm not someone that everyone in the world can fight combined.”

”Excuse me...” Ginger looked at her, ”But would you mind not sitting on my stomach?”

”Why? Iʼm not that fat.” Violet giggled. She was, in fact, too lean, with only hard muscles hiding beneath her soft, smooth alabaster skin. She did weigh over 100 kg, though {220 pounds} at a bit over 6 feet tall, even though she didnʼt look like it.

”Iʼm pregnant.” Violet froze for a second and started sweating. ”No, you arenʼt. You wonʼt come fight me here if you were, and you wouldʼve told Alcott. Iʼve lived with you as the doll. So I wouldʼve known.”

”No, Iʼm serious. I get pregnant a lot, but the child never survives for a month. After three times, I stopped telling Alcott about it because itʼll get him worried sick.” She sighed, and Violet was already standing beside her, not sitting anymore.

”I checked with all experts on vampires for years. The reason I canʼt is that my blood, the blood of Vlad rejects anything new.” She sat down and looked at Violet.

”Rejects anything new? What do you mean?” Violet started to feel worried because now that Ginger reminded her of Vladʼs blood, she could smell something strange as she was in her true and powerful draconic body instead of just a doll.

”You... smell weird.”

Ginger looked away, ”Itʼs my blood, fatherʼs blood. Iʼm his insurance. Thatʼs one way of putting it. I couldnʼt have children in the past or now because he made sure that wouldnʼt happen. I only recently found out, but my role was that in case he died and all of his spare bodies were destroyed, he could get reborn through me.”

Violet glared at her, ”So, if you and Alcott had a child, that would be...”

”Father, Vlad would be the child; heʼll be reborn.”

Ginger stood, ”I couldnʼt have any children while he was alive because my blood was on stand by, and now that he is dead, my blood keeps waiting to turn a new child into him.”

Violet looked back in the direction of Alina. ”And let me guess... each time you get pregnant, the child dies.”

”Alcottʼs blood kills it the moment the child starts turning into Vlad. The blood clots, and the fetus just dies and withers away. Itʼs like a curse ingrained into my blood. The only way to get rid of it is to burn all of my blood, and that...”

”Mean the only cure is death. As long as you live, your blood will keep doing that.” Violet sighed, ”Itʼs good that you told me. Iʼll get in contact with someone I know who might be able to help.”

Ginger looked at her with wide open eyes, ”You know someone who can help?”

”I have way more connections than you think.” Violet smiled and called both Death and Akame.

The answers she got were simple. Ginger has to either die and get reborn to get rid of the curse or find Akame so she can cleanse.

Akame, being the goddess of undead and vampires, the mother of Akasha, the Blood Lord Arad picked in Yogʼs world.

After talking things out, Violet looked at Ginger, ”So? Weʼre fighting?”

Ginger didnʼt reply, just swung at Violetʼs head. Violet, in response, dodged the attack and swung back.

The two fought, but neither of them used any power beyond what their humanoid body would have if they were mundane humans. They slapped, bit, and pulled on each otherʼs hair, rolling on the ground and kicking a cloud of dust.

Neither of them shied away from cursing and spitting on the other, either, as their fight lasted for over an hour. At the end, Violet was the winner.

”I work out, unlike you.” Even though she could barely stand while limited to a human form.
