Ling Tian Sword God

Chapter 1100: Chapter 1099: Spiritual Heart Saint

Ling Chen’s pupils suddenly contracted, and a gleam of cold light flashed through his eyes. Since Zhou Qingqing was being so aggressive, he couldn’t be blamed for being ruthless with her.

”Snap!”

A translucent burst of air energy flew in from a distance and hit Zhou Qingqing’s sword.

The force of the air energy was powerful, causing the sword to tremble violently, numbing Zhou Qingqing’s fingers, and her body staggered backward as if she had hit a barrier.

”Who’s there?” Zhou Qingqing’s delicate face turned icy cold, and she said in a chilling voice.

”Wow!”

A beam of light descended from above everyone, and then a blue-clad young girl, about 1.4 meters tall, descended from the sky.

She stood on a colorful cloud, hovering two meters above the ground, exuding a sacred aura.

”A Saint!”

Ling Chen was shocked. This blue-clad young girl, who looked like a loli, was actually a Saint!

Judging from the aura emanating from her, the blue-clad girl was at least at the Second Layer of the Saint Realm or higher.

”Greetings to Elder Thirteen.”

All the disciples present knelt on one knee and respectfully saluted the blue-clad young girl.

The Saints, regardless of where they were, were always respected.

Ling Chen was even more astonished in his heart, for this blue-clad girl was ranked only thirteenth?

With this level of cultivation, she would already be at the most core elder level in the Ling Family.

”Elder Thirteen.”

Zhou Qingqing trembled in her heart when she saw it was Elder Thirteen who had arrived and immediately knelt on one knee, not daring to continue challenging Ling Chen.

”This Martial Arts Plaza is not a place for you to brawl and fight.”

The blue-clad girl said indifferently.

”Elder Thirteen, Junior Brother Ling Chen and I were merely sparring.”

Zhou Qingqing hastily cupped her hands. Despite the immature appearance of the blue-clad girl before her, her age was certainly not as young as she looked. Elder Thirteen was known for her strictness.

”Sparring? Senior Sister Zhou, your sparring methods are rather ruthless.”

Ling Chen said nonchalantly.

Hearing this, Zhou Qingqing glared at Ling Chen. This guy was really annoying.

”Alright, line up properly.”

The blue-clad girl waved her hand, signaling to Ling Chen and Zhou Qingqing to stand in line.

The blue-clad girl glanced at the members of the group and said, ”From now on, I will be your instructor for the first group. You may call me Elder Thirteen or Teacher Spiritual Heart.”

”Greetings, Teacher Spiritual Heart,” the Lingyue Island disciples of Group One echoed in unison.

Elder Thirteen, the Spiritual Heart Saint, was formerly a renowned genius figure on Lingyue Island and the youngest among the elders. It was undoubtedly more suitable for her to teach the first group than other elders.

Although they belonged to different elder’s factions, each elder had many disciples, and moreover, each elder was very busy and couldn’t devote much time to them.

Thus, guidance from the Spiritual Heart Saint was very precious.

The Spiritual Heart Saint said, ”You all have been placed in the first group, and each one of you is an elite among the elite, a genius among geniuses. You all are recognized talents on the land of the Nine Provinces. So, I won’t teach you much; it’s more important for you to comprehend and cultivate on your own. However, if you have any questions, you can always ask me.”

”But as disciples of the first group, you must strictly discipline yourselves.”

”I have only one requirement of you, which is that within three years, you must earn the title of Outstanding at the Nine Streams Assembly. Those who do not meet this requirement will be expelled from the first group.”

”Boom!”

It was like a thunderclap on a clear day, and a roar echoed in their minds.

The requirement from the Spiritual Heart Saint was exceedingly demanding.

The title of Outstanding comprised only thirty-six people. Even if it was evaluated every year, in three years, not many individuals would earn it. Perhaps not even a hundred people. Their group, however, consisted of a total of sixty people; how many could ultimately achieve the title of Outstanding?

”Hmph, those who can’t earn the Outstanding title have no right to remain in the first group.”

At this moment, a somewhat soft voice suddenly arose.

This remark, however, was not well-received by everyone, but when they looked towards the source, noting the speaker was Gu Wuqing, they fell silent, as he was one of the Eighteen Heavenly Talents, and naturally had the standing to make such a claim.

”Since the first group is elite among elites, it’s understandable to have strict requirements.”

Leng Qianshang also said coldly.

For these two who spoke from a place of comfort, everyone inwardly cursed but had no solution, because their abilities were indeed strong.

”They are not wrong. At your age, you must train relentlessly to possibly achieve significant accomplishments. Without pressure, there is no progress.”

The Spiritual Heart Saint, with her small hands clasped behind her back, paced back and forth, ”I will choose the most outstanding individual among you to be your group leader.”

Upon hearing the term ”group leader,” the eyes of both Gu Wuqing and Leng Qianshang brightened. If the position was determined by strength, it undoubtedly would be one of them.

”Who among you is willing to take on the role of group leader?” The Spiritual Heart Saint asked with a smile.

As her words fell, Gu Wuqing and Leng Qianshang exchanged a glance and almost simultaneously prepared to step forward.

”However, for the selection of the group leader, I have additional requirements.”

The Spiritual Heart Saint suddenly spoke.

”What requirements?” Gu Wuqing and Leng Qianshang nearly asked in unison.

”I require him to be selected as one of the Twelve Divine Marquises within a year. If he fails to meet this, he will be removed from the group.”

The Spiritual Heart Saint said calmly.

”What?”

At this, not only were Gu Wuqing and Leng Qianshang stunned, but the other members of Group One were also left speechless. To be selected as one of the Twelve Divine Marquises within a year?

This meant that the group leader had to be confirmed as one of the Twelve Divine Marquises by the end of this year’s Nine Streams Assembly.

This was practically an impossible task.

After a moment of contemplation, both Gu Wuqing and Leng Qianshang withdrew their intent.

This group leader position wasn’t one to be casually undertaken.

If they mishandled it, they might not only lose the position but also their membership in the group, resulting in a significant loss of face.

”A couple of years ago, I set the same goal for the group leader Free and Unrestrained Marquis. He achieved it, didn’t he? Many of you take the Free and Unrestrained Marquis as a role model, right?”

The Spiritual Heart Saint glanced around at everyone, yet no one responded. Indeed, the Free and Unrestrained Marquis was a majority’s idol among them, but what kind of person was he? Over the past century, he was the most outstanding disciple on Lingyue Island. They had the self-awareness to know that they couldn’t possibly become the next Free and Unrestrained Marquis.
