Chapter 1656: Shuang Yuzhu’s Parents

”Yeah.” Ling Yun immediately took Shuang Yuzhu to one of the floating islands in the Boundless Heaven Domain, and they arrived there in a matter of seconds.

Just as the Huang Clan used to live on the same floating island as the Sword Ascension Sect, the Shuang Clan lived on the same floating island as Xuanyin Xue’s sect. However, this floating island was much smaller, and the population there was not as large as the other.

Shuang Yuzhu immediately took Ling Yun to the residence of the Shuang Clan, which was no less luxurious than the original residence of the Huang Clan, with several rivers and fish ponds surrounding it.

”Young miss,” All the servants greeted Shuang Yuzhu, but they were curious about her relationship with Ling Yun. She was hugging his arm so intimately, something they had never seen before.

”Um.” Shuang Yuzhu nodded to them as her eyes looked towards the main hall, which was a little far in front of them. ”My heart can’t be calm, husband. My father will be furious when I introduce you as my husband, and he might attack you directly.”

Ling Yun rubbed her hand to calm her down. ”Don’t worry, okay? Your father might not approve of our relationship because he doesn’t know me yet, but I will change his mind by showing him that I am the most suitable man for you.”

”Puchi! Hahaha!” Shuang Yuzhu laughed out loud. ”Your skin is thicker than a wall, you know? However, you are right that there is no man more worthy than you of being my husband! How can any other man match you? Back then, your cultivation hadn’t even broken through to the Heavenly God Realm for long, yet you managed to defeat Xie Zuzhou’s avatar with your own strength. Even my master and the other senior cultivators trembled before his avatar, let alone my parents.”

”Haha,” Ling Yun laughed. ”I defeated Xie Zuzhou’s avatar twice, and I managed to seriously injure him in our second fight. I’m sure that old devil hasn’t recovered from his injuries to this day, and he’s using those demons to carry out his plans.”

Shuang Yuzhu nodded slightly. ”My mother might have heard about you because she is quite close to my master and Aunt Xiao Huan.”

”Isn’t that great? If your mother has heard about me, she should be able to convince your father to accept our relationship, right?”

”That’s true if my father weren’t stubborn, husband,” Shuang Yuzhu sighed. ”He and his friend have been friends since before they were married, and they promised to marry off their children when we grow up. However, I don’t like that man, so I oppose our marriage, and my father doesn’t dare force me because of my master.”

Ling Yun smiled. ”If your father met me, he wouldn’t dare force you to marry another man.”

”Are you going to beat my father and force him to accept our relationship?” Shuang Yuzhu asked worriedly.

”Everything depends on your father, Yuzhu,” Ling Yun smirked. ”You may not know about me then, but I once beat up my late father, and Ling Xi helped me to control him.”

Shuang Yuzhu knitted her brows. ”Why did you do that?”

”My mother divorced my late father because he had an affair with Yun Mingyue, and she was pregnant with me at the time. She hid from him because she was afraid that he would find out about me, and he would take me away from her.” Ling Yun told Shuang Yuzhu some things about the incident. ”Even though I hated him, he was still my father, so I didn’t kill him. However, I didn’t know that he conspired with heretics, and those people killed him.

”Oh.” Shuang Yuzhu nodded slightly. ”What—”

”Yuzhu! My baby daughter!” A high-pitched woman’s voice suddenly sounded, and a middle-aged woman dashed at lightning speed towards them before stopping in front of them. ”Oh? Who is this handsome young man?”

”Mother!” Shuang Yuzhu shouted, pulling Ling Yun behind her. ”Don’t tease my husband, or my father will be jealous of him.”

”Eh? Husband?” The middle-aged woman was shocked to hear the news; her eyes blinked several times. Then, she checked everything about Ling Yun from his bone age to cultivation. ’He’s still so young! He’s not even a hundred years old, but his cultivation has already reached the Lower Saint God Realm.’ ”Cough! What is your name, young man? Where did you meet my daughter? How did you woo her?”

”Mother!” Shuang Yuzhu’s face turned beet red as she was embarrassed.

”Mother-in-law, my name is Ling Yun, I—”

”Eh?” Shuang Yuzhu’s mother screamed loudly after Ling Yun introduced herself. ”Are you really Ling Yun? You’re Huang Zhimei’s husband, right? I’ve heard about you from Sister Xiao Huan, and I’ve long wanted to meet you, but she told me you were busy with your seclusion. Aish! No wonder my daughter fell in love with you; you can even conquer the cold lady like Huang Zhimei!”

”Mother, you don’t need to shout like that! He is indeed Huang Zhimei’s husband, and we met in the Snowy Death Forest years ago.” Shuang Yuzhu looked at Ling Yun. ”Husband, she is my mother, Cui Xiaoyan.”

Cui Xiaoyan humphed and pulled Ling Yun from her daughter. ”Since when did you marry my daughter? Why didn’t she tell me first?”

”Mother, we—”

”Yuzhu, I’m not asking you, and I want to hear the answer from my son-in-law.” Shuang Yuzhu covered her mouth with her hand when she saw the look in Cui Xiaoyan’s eyes. ”Please explain everything to me, Ling Yun.”

Ling Yun scratched his head and explained a few things to Cui Xiaoyan, especially about Shuang Yuzhu, who had been living with him for over a year and nine months. He also informed her that he was still not married to her daughter, but they shared a relationship similar to that of a husband and wife.

Shuang Yuzhu’s face turned bright red when her mother glanced at her with a playful smile, making her want to find a hole to hide in.

Cui Xiaoyan nodded to Ling Yun. ”Since my daughter has chosen you as her husband, and your relationship has already progressed this far, I will give my blessing to your relationship. However, you still have to convince my husband to accept you, but that won’t be easy because he has long wanted to marry her to his friend’s son.”

”Yuzhu already told me about the matter, so I brought her back here to talk to you two.” Ling Yun looked towards the main hall. ”Is he in there?”

”He already knew about your arrival, but he didn’t want to come out and wait for you there.” Cui Xiaoyan pulled Ling Yun along with her. ”Let’s go, Yuzhu.”

Shuang Yuzhu sighed inwardly and followed them, but she became tense when she saw the displeased expression on her father, who was sitting in the head seat. ’Ugh! His expression is as scary as ever! I should have brought my master here so he wouldn’t dare mess around.’

”Husband, he—” Cui Xiaoyan stopped talking when she sensed her husband’s aura.

Ling Yun raised an eyebrow slightly before countering Shuang Yuzhu’s father’s aura, causing the chair beneath him to instantly shatter.

Shuang Yuzhu’s father and Cui Xiaoyan were shocked by that; both of them looked at Ling Yun with incredulous looks.

Ling Yun shook his head slightly, and his next words shocked them further. ”Your cultivation is much higher than mine, but your strength is still far below Xie Zuzhou’s avatar. I have defeated the old devil twice, so your pressure is meaningless in my eyes.”

Shuang Yuzhu laughed in her heart at her father’s shocked expression. ’Haha! Your friend’s son’s cultivation is higher than my husband’s, but he will never be his opponent.’

Shuang Yuzhu’s father took a deep breath before standing up. He had heard that a young man had defeated Xie Zuzhou’s avatar several years ago, but he hadn’t expected that same young man to be standing before him now, being so intimate with his daughter.

Cui Xiaoyan had also heard about it, but she didn’t know that Ling Yun was the young man who managed to defeat Xie Zuzhou’s avatar, let alone defeat him twice. ”Did you really beat that old devil twice, son-in-law?”

”That’s true.” Ling Yun created two screens, showing his battle with Xie Zuzhou’s avatar on two different occasions. ”You two can see for yourselves.”

After they watched everything, Ling Yun removed the two qi screens. He looked at Shuang Yuzhu’s father and spoke to him. ”I came here to officially ask for your daughter’s hand in marriage. I know you want to marry her to your friend’s son, but I believe he doesn’t have the qualities to marry her, so I hope you will approve of our relationship.”

”Haha! You’re right, he doesn’t have any better qualifications than you. Even the two of us didn’t dare to look at Xie Zuzhou’s avatar, but you fought him twice, and you won each time.” Cui Xiaoyan looked at her husband. ”So, what’s your decision, husband? Besides, our daughter has already had intimate relations with him, so she’s no longer a pure maiden.”

Shuang Yuzhu’s father still hoped that his daughter would marry his friend’s son, but he realized that Ling Yun was much more than that man. ”Since their relationship has gone that far, I won’t stop them from getting married. I will explain everything myself to my friend and his family.”

Shuang Yuzhu patted her chest in relief. ”Father, thank you for your blessing.”

Cui Xiaoyan also smiled with relief. ”Are you two going to stay here for a few days?”
