My Tribrid System: More than a Monster

Chapter 203

”AAAAAAAAAAARGH! I’m falling!” a feminine voice shouted, the sound echoing through the dark void.

”You mean we are falling, right?” a masculine voice that sounded remarkably calm replied.

”Shut the hell up, werewolf!” the girl, who turned out to be Chloe, barked before drifting back into her frantic screams.

Felix shook his head with a tired, weary sigh.

”For all we know, we might not be the only ones here and you just had to blurt out exactly who I am.”

Chloe stopped screaming for a brief moment before looking at the werewolf who was directly in front of her.

They had been tossed into the gullet of the beast at the same time.

Due to the narrow, constricted space, they were forced to plummet side by side, almost locked in an accidental embrace.

From where he was positioned, Felix could actually feel her hot breath on his skin; any closer, and they could have locked lips.

That was precisely why he was so annoyed—she kept unleashing a spray of deadly saliva with every one of her loud screams.

If care was not taken before they hit the ground, he feared he could be soaking wet.

’Am I even sure we are going to hit the ground? What if we just get burnt to a crisp in molten lava?’

”Well, I don’t think anybody else is with us at the moment, so shush!” Chloe retorted with a sharp scoff before glancing upward at the rapidly retreating opening they had fallen from.

Staring at her face for a few more seconds, Felix allowed his gaze to drift from her smooth, slightly bloodied features down toward her chest.

Observing her for a few moments longer, he almost grinned from ear to ear.

’If only my face could just re—’

”Are you staring at my chest?”

Felix froze in shock as he quickly lifted his head to stare back at the girl, his heart hammering against his ribs.

”You can see... I mean uh... what do you mean? Why would I be staring at those limes?” He scoffed, throwing his head to the side to avoid her piercing gaze.

Chloe was now turning red as she felt the sudden urge to strike the werewolf.

”Well, it sure did feel like you were gawking at me just now!”

”Tsk. You must be hallucinating,” Felix scoffed again before glancing down below them.

The suction force suddenly dragged at them, and Chloe let out a startled yelp.

The movement caused her body to jolt for a moment, catching Felix’s eyes, which now widened in sheer delight.

’Beau...’

He suddenly stared downward to see the ground rapidly approaching their position.

’Oh shoot! I’m dead!’

”Huh? Wh-Why are you suddenly silent?”

Chloe asked in a tone of mild panic.

”We—We are rapidly approaching the earth. Any moment from now, we could get splattered if something isn’t done on time.”

Chloe’s heart skipped a beat for just a moment before a confident smile appeared on her face.

”Ah... then there’s no need to worry.”

Before Felix could ask her what she meant, he suddenly saw the girl accelerate toward the floor at double the initial speed.

A second before impact, an invisible force suddenly engulfed her, slowing down her descent and allowing her to touch down smoothly without so much as a single scratch on her person.

”Telekinesis ability? Splendid! Now catch me!” Felix screamed as he saw the ground reaching out to him at full speed.

Chloe grinned as she stretched out her hand in a mock attempt to catch the boy with her ability.

At the very last moment, however, she took a few steps to the side, allowing the werewolf to plummet head-first into the dirt... hard.

”Fuck....”

Springing back to his feet almost instantly, Felix looked beyond furious as he began rubbing his aching neck, a vein throbbing visibly at the side of his head.

”What the hell was that for?!”

Chloe crossed her arms across her chest, accidentally lifting her frame higher than intended, which caused Felix’s hand that was rubbing his neck to suddenly fall limp.

”That was for staring at me lewdly a moment ago,” she stated firmly.

After a few seconds of tense silence, Chloe roared: ”And I can still feel you staring, pervert!”

In another area, another Aspirant could be seen falling the same way as every other person who had been swallowed.

Caster!

He stared at the darkness that engulfed him with a frown on his face as he kept plummeting at an impressive speed.

”Let’s see... how many summons do I have left?” he uttered while stroking his chin in deep thought, his mind calculating his remaining resources.

”... Uh. I didn’t use it today, so I still have about five summons, which means I can use them when things get tough.”

The boy sighed deeply as he stared down at the dark abyss.

Compared to the others, his vision was remarkably clear.

He could see all around him, though perhaps not to the incredible extent of Ray’s or Felix’s werewolf eyes.

But still, his sight was far better than that of the average human who would be seeing absolutely nothing right now.

Which was why, after passing through that strange suction force, he was able to perceive the ground rapidly reaching out for him.

With a tired sigh, he lifted his hands, stretching them in front of his body with a serious, focused expression on his face.

Making sure his outstretched limbs were of equal length, he suddenly shifted his right hand a little downward, ensuring that the edge of his knuckles was touching the wrist of his left hand.

Then, he uttered:

”Dark wolf.”

Without delay, thick smoke engulfed him and swiftly dispersed as fast as it had appeared.

In its place, a wolf the size of a small car materialized beneath him.

Its fur was a matte black, almost resembling the shadows themselves, and it possessed bright red eyes that seemed to burn with a primal fury.

Its claws were as lethal as they could possibly get, looking sharp enough to split soft earth to shreds.

Caster landed firmly on the creature’s back and, with a low howl from the beast, the wolf kicked the air beneath it and suddenly dashed to the side.

It was heading toward the cavern wall, which was a considerable distance away.

With how fast it moved, it seemed like the pair was ready to plummet straight into the rock; however, at the last second, the beast suddenly spun around, digging its sharp claws into the wall and sliding downward until they touched down on the ground smoothly.

Leaping off the wolf’s body, Caster dusted himself off with a scowl on his face before patting the wolf on its head.

”Good job, boy. Now leave before someone sees you.”

With a small nod, the wolf suddenly vanished in a swirl of smoke.

”Now, what path should I take?” Caster asked as he stared at the numerous holes in the wall.
